it’s not genius, it’s just something ppl don’t do.
Wish they put ALL the blocks for the hull of the boat in that layer portion. Not add planks onto the outside of the hull later. Survival is a thing.
Yes I love it, it really helps bc I know I would've gotten lost a couple times without it
it woulda been more helpful if at the start you let us know what layers are meant to be underwater
Or watch the video 1 time, and the 2nd time to build
1,2,3, and 4 are under the water then the reason aren’t

I counted 43 blocks long (38 without the front part) and 21 blocks wide with the sails (9 without). I'm building the first 4 layers underwater near a dock. The planks to get to the ship will be placed at 18 blocks from the very front

what about height?
a bit of advice you should show us where the flags go on the ship before you show us how to build them because I was a bit confused on where to put them

Instructions are a little hard to follow, But its a great build.
If you have a hard time it might help to make the video 0.75 or 0.5 speed. Helps me with some of the builds
Personally I would have like to have seen the masts built in the boat, but other than that, a very helpful tutorial, will have to add this is my world 👍
would have liked to see where the water level is first, followed the build then had to destroy it all to lower it

Brilliant video, love the use of andesite for each layer so we can see what's changed. Could you do breakdowns of timing for each layer? That would make it easier to jump back if we think we've made a mistake (I mean WHEN I make one of my many mistakes). Thank you for the awesome videos.

Building a pink ship in 1.20 thanks for the great tutorial! Other ones I looked at didn’t have nearly as much detail with clear instruction. I will say the angle got confusing at times but was able to refer back to your color coded chart for anything I needed to fix! Much appreciated!

unless you have world edit, it is kinda annoying, especially for the masts. You dont specify where each one goes so you have to skip ahead to see where u put them then go back and watch the tutorial

@@martinvannostrand8488 agreeable but these are ships their notorious for being hard to make in minecraft, and that on too of having to make a tutorial out of it.

Never seen a tutorial design like this.. I love it.. the blueprint style in the top left is super easy to follow, you using the stone blocks instead of the wood first time makes it easy to follow along vs the planks… just an awesome tutorial I will be building this in my survival worlds thanks a ton!

The front of the boat is facing left of the tutorial and the bottom blocks should be placed 4 blocks down into the water or see for yourself at 1:15

Hey I really appreciate how you showed the way you built this! I think I understand sail shape now. Just one observation... You filled a lot of the space of the ship with solid blocks. It might be even cooler if you could use all that space and see the ribs of the ship. Also see the masts going all the way down to attach to the base of the ship. Not sure if that is where masts attach in real ships, but it sure looks cool!

One complaint (I’ll edit if there are anymore) but anyways maybe you should have said the height of the water before you started building because I had to restart completely when you said the height of the water.

I got a question. at the second sail you build in the top left it says you are using dark oak trap door for under the lectern but it seems like you are using spruce trap door?

Pretty good Tutorial, but when building the masts - next time please say wich one is on wich position. Had to rebuild all of them because i misled the points cause they werent shown on the ship. Very annoying playing in Survival... nonetheless good tutorial!

Out of curiosity, I'm wondering why you used layer by layer instead of building a 3d wireframe of the hull and then using connecting ribs. Afterwards smoothing it out. Either way it looks good.
