Three Questions: 1. Have you ever been to Puerto Rico? 2. Have you ever had Puerto Rican rum or pitorro? 3. Do you have a favorite Puerto Rican drink, food, musician, actor, song, etc? Cheers! 🇵🇷
Those look great! I love experimenting with unique neutral spirits in classic cocktails! …I’ve done that with my local Poitín and eau de vie… would love it get my hands on that Pitorro! Cheers Vino!
Thanks Rob! You always do such a great job with local “moonshines”. I couldn’t wait to share this bottle with people. Neither one of those cocktails survived longer than five minutes. 😅
@@CoachVinoCocktails it’s crazy how vodka is popular when it’s basically just a neutral spirit that’s had all its uniqueness and complexity filtered out
Oh wow Vino! These all sound spectacular! We've had a lot of Puerto Rican rum, but never seen Pitorro at all here! Can't wait to get our hands on it! Thanks for this!
It'll probably be hard for you to get your hands on Pitorro right now but I know that they are trying to expand their distribution soon. Could be fun to see what people do with it. Cheers!
I have never heard of Pitorro before! This spirit sounds fantastic Vino! These are beautiful cocktails and they look absolutely delicious!! Cheers!! :-)
@@CoachVinoCocktails Vino I am newbie at this but I do love playing around with neutral spirits. I am excited to hear what comes of infusing the Pitorro with pineapple and coconut! I think it will be amazing! Looking forward to seeing what you make with this terrific infused Pitorro!! 🙂
Wow, I bet that’s a very fun day for you and your family! Very cool! Sounds like a very interesting spirit! Fun to play with! Both sound great! Cheers!
A Puerto Rican friend of mind just came back from Puerto Rico and brought me a bottle. It's was awesome and very smooth. I have the frutas version. He did mention he could not bring back the home made stuff because it was illegal.
You've got yourself a good friend. Pitorro is a prize item. Unfortunately the homemade stuff is definitely illegal but considering it can burn a hole in your chest, I see might be for the best. ha! Cheers!
I remember my first swig of Georgia Moonshine. I was around 17 and not the big drinker I thought i was after that. lol Stay away from fire. lol These look great Vino. Happy Puerto Rico Day! Cheers my friend.
@@CoachVinoCocktails Very true. You could not buy the stuff we had on a shelf. Money in a bag down by the river. On your way out you will see your prize. lol
Really awesome, this looks like a great way to kick off the summer!! You sold both these recipes really well, your satisfaction is very apparent! I definitely gotta stock my cart up with Don Q as well, I haven't made it into that territory for Puerto Rican rums yet, a sin! Cheers, Vino!
Thanks pal. Puerto Rican rums are great for being super approachable. I’ve always had a lot of success introducing casual drinkers to new rums using bottles like Don Q. Cheers pal!
Wow, it's been a while since someone featured a bottle to give me an adventure to find. I don't even know if my local stores know that I'm still alive, since I haven't visited them in weeks. 1. I've never been to Puerto Rico 2. I've had my fair share of Puerto Rican rum... 3. I try very different stuff, but it's not my favorite. I've ordered pig ears and other random parts, just to try. Love the flan and Papas Rellenos
Pig ears and random parts is definitely not the direction I would have pointed you in. lol. Flan and papas rellenos are great. I can guarantee you’ll love Puerto Rican pernil. Pork of the Gods.
@@CoachVinoCocktails We used to travel to different neighborhoods in Philly and eat at more "authentic" places. If someone puts crickets on the menu and it's a cuisine to them, I'm trying it. Some foods taste better if you make it yourself and eat it when it's perfect. It's hard for a restaurant to hold Pernil to have it crispy skin and not be kinda dry, at least that was my experience. Even with BBQ. I do make a pernil for my cuban sandwiches. Maybe I'll look into what makes it Puerto Rican and try that next time...
Thanks pal! It’s always fun to try local spirits. Your hometown knows a thing or two about moonshine. 😅 Unfortunately I find that the strainer on the Elevated Craft doesn’t work well with muddled fruit or herbs, clogs up. So when I muddle something, I use a classic hawthrone. Cheers!
Yo Vino, question here. I just noticed the new camera position and different framing during construction. What's up with that? Call me curious. Drinks sound good!

I love the island and it’s people, they are sincere and always happy and always willing to help. Maybe because the pitorro.

I need to try the Sexpert too, PJ!

Awesome video Vino. I had Pitorro once and could not remember the name until this video.
Nice! Did you have it in the States or in PR? Cheers Livio!
@@CoachVinoCocktails I had to look it up to double check and I was wrong. It’s on one of my shows (Coquito). What I drank was Chicharito, not Pitorro!

I was wondering if that mango nectar would add as much sweetness as a simple syrup. Sounds like it worked out really well!
It’s not quite as sweet as simple but it provides the perfect amount sweetness, so I don’t add any simple.
That is a cool looking spirit I never hears of that, also curious why you used a hawthorn strain and not the one that comes with the shaker?
