The nail colour looks really good! So bright and summery 🌞 Love all the plants you mentioned. Especially loving your calathea medallion. It looks so good for a plant that was battling spider mites!
I have a bunny rabbit who unfortunately loves my plants and she is SMART. So it’s been difficult coming up with ways to keep her away from my plants, but luckily I’ve been able to keep her from my toxic plants!
My dog is also very disinterested or unaware of the plants but he does like sitting under the big ones like a little canopy. 😂 Such a good topic for a video!
I have a cat that could care less. I am getting a puppy so this is timely. Most of my plants are up anyway because of my grandchildren. ☺️ Thank you for the video. The nails 🧡
My kitty has zero interest in my 200+ plants 🪴 I think its because I had the plants when I rescued her and she was just a kitten. I think if you've had a pet for years and start bringing in plants and didn't have them before that any Anima would be curious 🤔I'm not sure but thankful that I don't have to worry about her eating plants haha Great video!!
My cats are pretty indifferent as well. I do still put my toxic plants up very high where they can’t access and keep the safe ones down below. Also got them their own catnip plant they can chew on and play with so they don’t even notice my other plants.
My dog isn’t too interested in plants thankfully! She did slightly chew a raphidaphora leaf once (because it was in her way of looking out the window, haha. I moved it) but thankfully she didn’t eat it and she was fine.
Hey! Here are a couple more pet safe options: peperomias, fatsia japonica, pilea peperomioide, money tree, cast iron plant, grape ivy and air plants. Anything to keep those little furry jerks safe 😽
Hey Fern, thank you for this video! 💚 Do you know hydrospikes? Maybe it’s something for your maranta. Summer Rayne mentions them often. I got two little calatheas lately. When they are a little bit bigger, I‘ll try the hydospikes for constant moisture. 😊 That should prevent spider mites as well 😱
Until I got my second cat it was so easy to have plants, but I wasn't interested so much in them at that time. Now I'm in love with plants and I can have a lot of them because I have my own flat. Unfortunately it's not so easy anymore with a second cat that loves to chew everything that's in his way and feels even a little bit like grass. I have plants that he doesn't like in my living room, in my bedroom I have them in terrariums, on shelves or macramas and all plants that are too big to put in the terrariums and macramas I have in my kitchen (my cat knows how to open doors, but it's the first one, and he has to have A reason to do that. I had to move their food bowls from kitchen, and he doesn't open it anymore thanks to that :) ) so I learned to manage it somehow, like they say, if there's a will there's a way ;)
Hi Fern, thank you for the video. I have two cats and they are just ignoring my plants! But you are right, better be cautious! The colour of your shirt really suits you, also the orange nails!!! 💚🧡🌱🤗
My ginger cat tried to bite my ficus elastica burgundy, hasn't messed with any more of my plants since. Excited to find out that SOH is pet safe, mine grows like a well fed weed.
I'm having the opposite problem to you! I have a red veined maranta but honestly can't get my hands on the lemon lime, no one even knows what it is here in new Zealand! I work at a garden centre and still haven't managed to get my hands on it in 9 months 😌😌😌
My God how beautiful you are hopefully someone will be watching that I can put you in the right direction I’m am a 71-year-old grandmother but I am hoping and praying right person will be coming and tell her yes you should probably be a mile or a oh OK
It's from Nail Addict LA in the colour "Electric Orange". I have a discount code if you're interested (I don't make a comission, it just saves you $) www.nailaddict.com/? Code is wildfern
My cats are only really interested in Boston Ferns and Palms. I started my plant journey solely buying non-toxic plants and I was set on only ever buying safe plants. As time progressed, and as I started discovering more plants, my mindset shifted. I spent around 6 months monitoring my cats and seeing which plants they nibbled at, which ones they have no care for, and I soon realised that it is only Ferns and Palms. I slowly started integrating plants which aren’t safe for cats but monitored them heavily and how they acted, and here I am now, with nearly 100 plants and my cats don’t even care anymore - except for the Boston fern, that poor thing is their chew toy 😅. Cats are super inquisitive creatures, and also like to cause me distress when I come home and find fern and palm leaves EVERYWHERE 🙄
Try having rabbits and 100s of plants😂😂😂😂 I have high shelves, stands, and cages around mine and my one 2lb little ball of fluff will somehow manage to pull the cage off or launch off the sofa into the shelves etc.... its great😳
rabbits are so lucky they're cute cause they're little terrors! mine are always getting into everything they shouldn't be. they always seem to prefer the off-limits stuff instead of their toys.
Hey this is off topic but how do you deal with your past noisy neigbors w their stomping & noises cause im going through that and it really toying with my mental health
It was awful. Nothing worked or helped so I moved. So sorry you're going through that too 😔 I used earplugs, white noise machine, stuffed things under doors so that noise wouldn't transfer as much, moved my bed to a different room, talked to them multiple times, called police etc. It totally messes with your mental health. I hope it gets better for you.
Here's what I know; I have a dog, he has 0 interest in my plants. I know people who have a house full of cats, dogs and everything in between, and they have plants with no issues. However, with that being said, the majority of plants in general are toxic to both humans and animals. Peperomias are pet-safe, and there are over 1500 species, from what I was told by the master gardener at my local nursery. Everybody's animals are different, but generally speaking, I haven't heard of any of my plant friends having issues with their pets/plants. To each their own!
Ahh yes they are! I still don't have any peperomia, but I look forward to the day when I do. I don't know many people who have problems with their pets and plants either, luckily!
My dog never eats the plants, he just likes to walk through them or “bump” into them and then he looks at me as if he wants to say “oohhh that was an accident nvm” , it’s like he plays hide and seek😂
I would also love to know lol. I check www.begoniaflora.com/product-category/begonias/ intermittently, it's possible they'd get some. Also urbangreenroomtropicals.com has rare begonia sometimes also.
Cats are special creatures🤣 mine constantly headbutt my huge snake plant and have knocked it over a few times.. I had to put rocks in the bottom of the cover pot so that doesn’t happen anymore lol
Hi Fern! My 13th birthday was yesterday and I got a Monstera and it’s so cute 🥰 love this video I have 5 pets. 1 dog, 3 cats, and my bunny Ollie! 💗
Happy belated birthday Briannah! That's so awesome that you got a monstera, too ☺️
@@wildfern thank you very much ☺️💗
The nail colour looks really good! So bright and summery 🌞 Love all the plants you mentioned. Especially loving your calathea medallion. It looks so good for a plant that was battling spider mites!
Thank you!! And right haha, I think I saved it before they got bad :)
My cat ignores my plants. He even looks surprised sometimes he finds them
Ooh this shirt is so perfect and planty! 🤗 Since I’ve gotten into plants I’ve been so much more drawn to green!
I also have a new appreciation for green since getting into plants haha 🌿🥰
String of hearts may be pet safe but I can’t count the number of times my kitten has broken off leaves because he likes how they swing so much 🤦🏻♀️😅
Hahaha omg. I bet 😆
I have a bunny rabbit who unfortunately loves my plants and she is SMART. So it’s been difficult coming up with ways to keep her away from my plants, but luckily I’ve been able to keep her from my toxic plants!
Awe! They are smart lil things. Glad to hear you've been able to keep her away from them :)
They are so smart
My bunnies know how to open cages. 😂
My dog is also very disinterested or unaware of the plants but he does like sitting under the big ones like a little canopy. 😂 Such a good topic for a video!
I just rescued a puppy names Miss Beans on Saturday so this came at a great time! I have to currently re-organize my room/ plant collection right now
Oh perfect! Congrats on your new best friend 🥰
I have a cat that could care less. I am getting a puppy so this is timely.
Most of my plants are up anyway because of my grandchildren. ☺️
Thank you for the video.

Thanks so much for watching Vicky ☺️

I love this shirt on you! :)
Thank you!
I’m so blessed to have a plant friendly cat 🥰
Thanks for the info on nonpoisonous plants! Love the zigzag plant!💚
You're welcome! And same, such a cool one!

I might need a ric rac now that you say it’s so easy to care for 🤪

As a cat mom, this video was appreciated- thank you!
Also where is your shirt from? That color looks so good on you! 💕
Same here
i had no idea that most of these were pet friendly! will definitely be recommending them to planty friends who have pets
Love this video! My dogs couldn’t care LESS about my plants 😂

Love my cast iron wish I could find the milky way. Great video
Those marantas are GORGEOUS

I have never tried them!! Good to know though, I bet it's helpful.
Boston fern, spider plant & parlour plants (chamadorea) are all safe for cats too 😄

I have just watched Your video from 4 years ago. I couldn't recognise You. You looked soo different. Obviously georgous then and now.
Hahah yes I’ve gone through many looks!
I'm having the opposite problem to you! I have a red veined maranta but honestly can't get my hands on the lemon lime, no one even knows what it is here in new Zealand! I work at a garden centre and still haven't managed to get my hands on it in 9 months 😌😌😌

Your Canadian accent really came out in this video😂I loved it☺️

that’s exactly how my cat is!! If she sees a fluffy palm or fern she wants to chomp it
My boyfriends cat eats from every plant she sees haha.

@@wildfern I just recently hopped on the peperomia bandwagon, and got a piccolo banda and a raindrop. Highly suggest both!!

Hahaha!
I moved so I gave friends some much loved plants. Many were destroyed by pets :(
😍😍😍your nail color
Thank you ☺️☺️
I have spent a lot of time thinking about what would happen if my pets ever ate my San Pedro cacti collection 😬
Loool right 😅
Does anyone know where to get some terrarium begonias like amphioxus in Canada

Luckily one of my cats couldnt care less & the worst my other does is practice her boxing skills on my monstera roots 😆
Nice video 😀😀😀
Before I placed my cacti up higher, I caught one of my cats scratching his head on the cactus like on purpose… hello sir?!?!
Cats are special creatures🤣 mine constantly headbutt my huge snake plant and have knocked it over a few times.. I had to put rocks in the bottom of the cover pot so that doesn’t happen anymore lol
Hahahah!
I've always read hoyas are not pet friendly
Everything online says they are non-toxic to humans and pets :)
🌿👍
💚🌿
I found that hoyas are very toxic
