I understand where you're coming from, but that's not actually true. For example, a lot of Zionists are Fascists. These Fascist Zionists often hate Hitler. Why? Because he went after THEIR people, NOT because they are on principal against discrimination, but ONLY if it is against the people they care about. So, the same can be said of John Kelly. Perhaps he views "his people" as better, but he also is against Hitler.
Here's a really wild counter-example: Julius Evola actually criticized Hitler from the right. As in, he criticized Hitler... for not being right wing enough.

As a librarian and history nerd, I do just want to remind everyone that there is value in reading and analyzing historical texts including those written (or spoken) by Hitler. (HOWEVER, there is a big difference in reading those texts out of admiration and as a source of inspiration which is what Trump did.) It helps us to understand the psychology of the man, allows for discussion on how it may have been interpreted by the population, and what his worldview and philosophy was. It helps us to identify modern day warning signs of dangerous rhetoric, authoritarianism, and fascism. We learn from our past so that we can do better in the future. I think the US population would take the statements made about Trump and his affinity for Hitler more seriously if the US education system did a better job explaining how he rose in power, used vehicles of propaganda, wanted to shape the world to his liking, and yes, how he spoke to the people in Germany which led to so many people either fully joining his cause or at least being very complacent. I’ve read a lot of history books and original texts and I see so many similarities and echoes in how Trump speaks to his base of supporters which is why these Generals coming forward concerns me so much. It’s not just my own analysis, it’s the analysis of the military leaders that stood by his side. That should scare people.
