    Hi! Is it possible to mount the hardware with the grease nipples facing inward, so I can grease them with the wheels on??

    Want heavy duty? should re-enforce the frame hangars before this upgrade. AND what grade rating are on the new bolts??

      @etrailer  3 роки тому

      It wouldn't be a bad idea to reinforce the frame brackets but it is not a requirement. The wet bolts that come in this kit are grade 5 bolts.

    Dexter torflex axles need shocks installed
    My camper hops like SOB
    I did not know this when I purchased the camper.
    Is there any information on installing shocks

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  9 місяців тому +1

      How old is your camper? If you have poor ride quality, and your camper is several years old, you'll want to replace the axle, as the torsion dampers have worn out. As far as installing shocks, we suppose that's possible, but we don't have any info about installing shock absorbers on a torsion axle. Honestly, we don't offer anything that would work for that type of application...

      Campers an 18 hardly used. I was hoping you wouldn’t say worn out. With these Canadian roads, that’s very possible.
      Thank you for taking the time to reply.
      Have a great day my friend

      The average lifespan of a trailer torsion axle is 3-5 years, and you're 6 years in now. A lightly used trailer will push that out a couple of years, but if it's been consistently driven on bad roads at full capacity. it's entirely conceivable that they're worn out. Wish we had better news for you!
      We're glad we could help, you have a great day too!

    Why is jacking up a trailer on the frame bad, but putting the jack
    stands on the frame OK when removing axles or other installs like
    Equa-Flex?

    One question I have is about the hole in the wet bolts. Are they supposed to point up or down or sideways?

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  4 роки тому +1

      The orientation of the grease hole does not matter.

    Grease fitting on the wet bolts should face under the trailer. Otgerwise you jave to remove the tires everytime you grease them

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  7 місяців тому

      We typically grease the bolts at the same time we inspect the wheel bearings, which requires the wheels be removed anyway. If you wish to install the bolts with the grease zerks facing inward, there's no reason why you can't.

    I saw this video and said "There is no way they removed those bolts with the weight on the axles on the jack stands." I see in the response to a question that you have the trailer with a 4 post lift holding the weight of the trailer on the frame. I think it is important to let people know that you have to support the weight of the trailer on frame and not on the axles. It would be almost impossible to do the job with the weight on the axles.

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  3 роки тому

      Thank you for this feedback! Yes, we lift these trailers with a 4 point lift system that is lifting from the frame. The jack stands are strictly to hold the axles from hanging.

    do you have a video on where to put jack to raise tandem trailer to do this?

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  4 роки тому +1

      We used a 4 post lift for this video but the best way to do it at home would be to lift and support the trailer by the frame rail. Many people want to lift on the axle and you can risk damaging the axle by putting that pressure on it. you can use jack stands or blocks to support the trailer by the frame.

    Does the chair come with it 🤭
    Seriously I believe my trailer would ride better with this upgrade , I have a forest river Salem 26tbud and when I'm at a camp ground or going up a drive way the stock equalizer makes so much noise sounds like metal just rubbing together . And I notice the trailer feels stiff . I know what I'm doing soon lol .

      You will need to measure the spacing between the holes (center on center) on your equalizer where the leaf springs attach. There are two different size kits for a tandem axle trailer. One size is 5 5/8" center on center and the other is 7 3/4" center on center. I have linked both of the kits below.
