- This was quite an easy console replacement I feel most could tackle but the parts were a challenge and poor quality parts are always a challenge.

Might not be top quality but I can imagine how much a factory GM part would have cost!

Gm wanted 3 times the price and a long wait .

Apparently you don't get what you pay for with the OEM one either, or you wouldn't be needing a aftermarket one.
True. Those things? Broken a LOT.
But I think it's because people use it to climb into the truck.

Fine job Steve, I Just replaced my plastic latch on my 2013 bought it on Amazon and I can't believe I got the right one on the first try...lol...… cheers !

Those seem to be always broken from a certain year range. Aftermarket hoopla...I wonder how many broken ones were even worse aftermarket?

The only ones not broken... like a see no evil. Ignore it. Lol
They all seem to get buggered up in no time.

Although the quality wasn't quite up to standards as the OEM, it didn't look too bad. Should last for a good while! Have a great weekend Steve!
Yes we got about the level of quality as per cost. Can't buy a Cadillac with a Kia pocketbook 😅

The original did last a long time but this thing is already on its way out :)
Use a rivet washer so it doesn't pull through big or soft holes.
I don't mind those fabric retainers on Chevys work. Pulls it altogether tight. Like when you reskin a seat over a seat weight or passenger presence system. Not bad....but oh so expensive! ~ $700

Sam it's in a box and you install it and that's about the best I can say about it. LOL

Oh man you worked a lot harder fixing it than I did. Bad parts suck.
Oh man, it's too bad you had to repair a brand new unit but in the end I'm sure it was cheap and you made it work.
Thats the way it is today , new means ya better check it out first. Imagine repairing vehicles every day and deal with this constantly😂😂

Mike it looks great from about 40 feet but I had a girlfriend like that years ago to and up close it was scary :)

The one built by GM was crap to begin with and would cost a fortune to replace.
Dealer was 4 times the price :)

You know, I've bought aftermarket stuff for other makes and they are crappy, yes.... But aftermarket stuff for Chevrolet... Oh my God, that's the worst. Don't why that is. It's like they do it on purpose !!!!

Horrible quality
