Hi everyone, I'm introducing a fresh news & analysis series I call 'The Third Eye' where I'll dive into three or four key investment-related happenings weekly, keeping it relevant and recent. In this edition:
1. We start with the big mover of the week - Zomato Limited - as we understand the company's growth, key variables, profitability, their subscription program and more
2, We shift gears to MamaEarth’s recent IPO and do a brief valuation analysis in addition to growth projections and important variables to watch out for
3. Quant has launched an actively-managed momentum and we'll look at the difference between that and momentum index offerings
4. And finally, I'll be taking 3 questions fielded my viewers in the comments which includes:
a) How to use Niftyindices to extract historical data of different indices
b) Difference between PRI and TRI
c) Evaluation of depreciation methods and how they can impact net profits
I'm excited about this new format and eager to hear your thoughts. If you found value in this diverse collection of insights and perspectives, show some love with a like and share. Wishing you a joyous festive season and, as always, looking forward to another engaging discussion next week

Hi Shankar, whats your view on impact cost on exit of stocks by momentum funds ? In case of market corrections, samco/ quant would execute bulk sell orders and the impact cost can be very high? Would be good to have your thoughts on this ?
Congratulations Shankar on the 100k sub...now for the exponential jump to 1MM
Truly appreciate your in depth analysis and this new format is awesome. Would love to hear your take on the daily market & macro scenarios across world markets.
Thank you very much for the kind appreciation and for your good wishes.
A daily market & macro scenario will be too tiring for me & personally, my experience tunes me more towards finding companies putting in the hard yards rather than factoring what's happening everyday in the world. Let's keep it on a weekly report and see how far I can push it.
Thanks a lot for putting Q&A. Please also consider creating a Membership community.
Thanks for the suggestion 👍

Well I am tempted to redeem the Axis small cap fund for this irrational subscription to the pre-ipo rounds. This is even after all the controversies associated with the Front running trades. Will the management ever learn?
Thanks sir for your view on momentum strategy.
Recently I did lumpsum investment around 19000 Nifty levels at Tata Midcap 150 Momentum 50 and start SIP. Waiting for some correction and will do lumpsum and then SIP in Quant Momentum Fund as well.
Most welcome and all the best!
I am enjoying ur channle
Best wishes and prayers to reach 1 billion subscribers by 2025..your hard work and unbiased dedication to educating people in financial literacy deserves it..
Thank you very much for your kind wishes, much appreciated 🙌
Hi Shankar,
Can you please share your thought whether it make sense to invest in funds which are investing in facebook, amazon, alphabet, apple, netflix etc taking into consideration the current valuations of FANG+ companies. I'm asking this related to fund by mirae assest NYSE FANG+ ETF fund.
Hi. I haven't analysed these companies in quite a while to have an opinion. I had invested in FANG+ myself when it was down 30%, that was tactical then but I haven't done anything on this lately
Is small and mid cap in bubble????
You deserve 1 million customers a least
Thank you very much for your kind wishes
100k x congrats 🎉
Thank you very much!
Hi. Your videos are really informative.
Just wanted to correct. Anand Rathi Wealth's IPO price band was 530-550.
Thank you for pointing this out
Hi Shankar, Follow you since Et money days and always a fan of clarity you bring in your videos.
I have two questions if you could address pls.
1- 'whats the best way to calculate future earnings of a company'
2- 'how to identify PE rerating future prospects'
Thanks a lot.
- Shubh
Thank you very much for your appreciation and continued patronage
1. The quarterly earnings call transcript is where I get a better idea of what to expect. Analysts woul almost always ask the management for some guidance on revenue and EBITDA margins .. and then one can put these two together to figure out what the future earning of the company might be atleast in that year. Ofcourse this process is a lot easier in non-cyclical industries
2. There are different ways of identifying such companies. The top ones I've noticed are:
a) Institutional investors are excited about the prospects of the company and start buying more shares
b) When a company shows consistent growth and profits .. which means the uncertainty surrounding the company & its business model is gone
c) Change in business model to higher margin products & the successful implementation of it (e.g. Reliance Industries was in the 15-18 PE band as a petrochemicals business until 2014 .. but post that it jumped to the 30s when they added Jio to their portfolio). So this is a bit of reinvesting oneself and this can lead to re-rating for the entire business
@@shankarnath thanks a lot for your prompt response.
Chelsea winning agisnt table toppers, you reaching 100k subscribers..Cheers to more such good times
That was Mauricio ka intikam :) .. thanks for the good wishes
PLEASE MAKE A DETAILED VIDEO ON QUANT MOMENTUM FUND DISCUSSING ABOUT THEIR INVESTMENT THESIS
Thanks for the suggestion
Congratulations 🎉 Shankar from long I am waiting for MARKET THIS WEEK.... Hope you will consider
Thanks for the suggestion
In these uncertain times, it's more important than ever to have a solid understanding of how to manage your finances, invest wisely and navigate economic downturns. But my primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $240k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I'm all in on the long term game, but with my savings are lying waste to inflation and my portfolio losing gains everyday, I need a remedy.
That's impressive! I could really use the expertise of this manager for my dwindling portfolio. Who’s the professional guiding you?
Good one.. Shankar with 3rd eye 😅
Thanks
0:34 I see what you did there xD
🙌
Happy Diwali Sir
Please share your views of investing in Nifty microcap 250 index fund.
Happy Diwali to you too. I'm sorry, I have not studied it recently & hence have no views on that index. Ofcourse, I did take up the topic in a separate video. Link: ua-cam.com/video/VP_CLyV9qZ8/v-deo.html
Sir, Quant has quantamental fund which sounds similar to momentum strategy. Your views on it please?
I'm sorry, I haven't analysed Quantamental Fund so I can't comment. Pls allow me to circle back once I have info on this
❤❤❤❤❤
Mr.Rajeev Thakkar of PPFAS advises caution in the current market due to the end of the era of easy money with rising interest rates. He notes a shift to a positive real rate environment, impacting corporate and individual borrowers, potentially affecting consumption, real estate, and auto sales. Despite seemingly reasonable Nifty valuations, he warns of high individual company valuations (70-90 PE), urging investors to be conservative, less agressive in investing and mindful of changing market dynamics.
what are your views on this if possible make a presentation.
Thanks😀
Apologies, I haven't kept myself updated on how Mr. Thakkar's views have performed over the years - so can't establish any success pattern around it. With re: my views, I am more attuned on understanding future profitability of companies and sectors when taking investing decisions rather than macro variables. I made reference to the same in a prior video. Pls have a watch .. link: ua-cam.com/video/YzyM8AK9xj8/v-deo.html
Sir ji, pls make 3rd Eye episodes every 15 days pls
Thanks for the suggestion. I was thinking of doing it every week
Sir, please suggest micro cap invest funds. Also, suggest method build portfoliio including micro cap stocks
Thanks for the suggestion
Please make a video about current market valuations. Is it good time to invest lumpsum in mutual fund with investment horizon of 5+ years? Which market cap or sectors seems at good valuations now?
Thanks for the suggestion
Shankar Nath sir .. suggest best mutual funds for monthly sip of amount around 60k for next 15 years . If naming is not allowed atleast give me Category type.
Hi Swarup ji, I prefer to invest across different funds types. I have explained my construct over a previous video. Please have a look: ua-cam.com/video/bN5QdxY3RVs/v-deo.html
Sir can you guid us how to prepare Mutual funds portfolio for wealth creation ( long term view) through SIP. THANKS 🙏.
Hi. I have many videos on this .. please watch some videos of my mutual fund playlist, I'm sure it will help. ua-cam.com/video/aYHRTPTDtNk/v-deo.html
In zomato scenario or any other scenario, could you tell whether you would like to invest in those ?
And can you make videos on fundemental analysis with interpretation of balancesheet, profit and loss statement and cash flow statement . Will be useful for new investors like me.
Thanks for the suggestion
superb Video sir..one small question sir..your favourite factor index for long-term ? (Momentum,Value,Low Volatility, Midcap Quality, Alpha Low Volatility)..pls tell sir 🙏
Thanks. From what I have seen so far, I have a strong preference for momentum indices
@@shankarnath Thanks sir for Valuable Reply 🙂

Sankar sir, tell me pls whether momentum index fund or momentum active fund. Which will give us the best return in the long run. If yes share me which fund to choose..
I'm sorry, I don't know which one will give the best return
Very well researced and valuable video
However, sir, there's a correction regarding the price of easy trip planners... The current price is lower as there was a stock split in the shares

@shankarnath FIIs have a lot of control over Zomato ~55%, do you see this as a risk?
Hello sir
Huge congratulations on hitting 100K. You are the person who i look up to for any questions and can expect a reply!!
Sir what do you think about the future of small caps in the next 10 years
I am actually building up a corpus to pay for my term insurance till the end of maturity period
Instead of choosing return on premium, its wise to invest the difference premium amount into a mutual fund that will earn returns for you as well as pay for future premium
What is best should i invest in a nifty 50 or is small cap safe and atleast generate annualized returns close to nifty benchmark.
Please guide me on this Sir!!!
Sir Anand rathi wealth ipo was launched at 550, u have taken incorrect price.
Thanks for pointing that out
Shankar , Doing what it needs to be done , a great trainer & awareness driver for retail space. Pl clarify my doubt :
Assuming interest rate at peak & ytm at 7.5% expecting the bottom to happen in next 5 years , which strategy is better
1) Take 5 year TMF : Exit anytime you feel rate at bottom adding capital gains to ytm or continue upto maturity for 7.5
2) Take Gilt funds with max mod duration & avg maturity 5 years for higher capital gains + ytm
Thanks. Apologies I haven't analysed the probable course of interest rates and related debt products to give a confident answer.
Easy trip planners adjusted IPO price will be approx 10 rs. You need to add a correction in the description
Q3 result of zomato will be absolutely stunning.... Both in terms of Q-Q and Y-Y.. Zomato has the potential to bcm another tata elexi or titan.. If debt issue gets atleast partially resolved for Vodafone idea, in that case, both vodafone idea, zomato will be in nifty50 one day...
expected blazer suit in the video....
😄😄😄
Shankar Sir, I am a big fan of you. Pls don't show lots of calculation. It's make us content a bit boring and lose my interest. This is just a suggestion. You can pls ignore data sheets.
Thank you for your views. Curious to know - if you find the numerical analysis in investing videos boring, then what part of my videos do you actually like?
Keep giving the numerical explanations. Because only your channel provide these clarity. For these kind of clarity only i am your regular viewer👍
@@shankarnathsir provide numerical analysis for videos . It is needed much. You stand out from crowds in deep analysis sir. Please educate us to perform analysis by ourself
@@shankarnath Sir, pls don't get me wrong. I am a very common viewer. I trust on your words. I don't need lots of data, tables, graphics for your each statements. I know graphs, data, tables are necessary to put the facts. But sometimes I feel it is too much to handle for me. I liked your presentation and deep knowledge you give in a simple layman language. This is justy personal views. Pls continue as you like.
