I was born in 1980. Radio Shack and Sears were my "toy stores". Still use the Made In USA Craftsman tools and my handheld Realistic scanner from 1994 to hear the FD.
Amazing video man! I really miss Radio Shack. So many times I’ve been repairing components with my home theater or other people’s gear and I think “man it would be so much easier to go to Radio Shack and buy the cap I need” instead of having to order a dozen off Amazon”
great walk down memory lane. I know that c band LNB from radio shack wasnt the typical 950 Mhz - 1450 Mhz output. There lnb was around 430 Mhz to 900 ish Mhz, so that receiver wasnt going to work with the general receivers available. Surprised you didnt highlight that budwiser beer can radio !
Thanks Robbie for the Rat Shack catalog site. I never knew it existed. I had the TRC-457 flagship SSB base CB back in the late 70s. It's in the 1978 catalog. I used to like their free battery card and looked forward to the new catalog in September. Bought many electronic repair parts from them back in the day.
When my grandparents had their last roller skating rink from 1986 to 1990, they never had a CD system at all, was all 45 RPM records with them turn tables that you seen here. Some electronics though, was better from other places. Commodore 64 stuff, uniden scanners, uniden cb's, other satellite equipment, etc. Was the go to place in the mall. I once after electronics school tryed to apply at the local radio shack for employment, and was turned down. So I ended up spending 15 years at Caterpillar, inc's research & development facility in Peoria.
my grandpa still had that giant c-band satellite dish back in the 90's when i was just a little kid. the size of those things could never be accurately represented in these pictures. not to mention they never really worked that well outside the most favorable conditions.
The Car-Phone is a Mobira CA4000 or a Bosch Mobira CA4000/CA4001 I've one in 1987 and it was very expensive! Thumbs up Nr.51! Thank you for watching! weakbit

I have more infor if you decide to try to find the video and audio up there....larry
Does your GTMedia SAT Finder v8 Pro still work? Mine broke within 2days of usage(it doesnt charge or work from battery anymore), it didnt even had a chance to get its first DVBS or C signal :( I only tried dvb-t with it, you can see here: ua-cam.com/video/98p6t6slbJw/v-deo.html I did try to get dvb-s with iz but failed: ua-cam.com/video/fQz95P5qnFg/v-deo.html I also updated its software and discovered that v305 is the sweatspot: ua-cam.com/video/FKx2ukX13J8/v-deo.html Does SAT hero do teletext and DVB-S2X? (I am looking at SH-820HD and cannot find this mentioned anywhere) I could accept that it performs a little poorly but that it breaks in a day... i dont think I can accept that.... Hope you are doing fine

That sounds like a great idea
