I just wanted to say that I am experiencing very high anxiety at the moment and your videos are so helpful to me. Anxiety is not fair and I keep thinking I don't want help because I'll get over it soon, but now I'm realising that it's not okay that I feel this way for no reason, because it's stopping me from enjoying my extremely lucky life to the fullest. Not gonna lie, this is me trying to promise to myself to get help, but thank you.

Hannah Duck I’m so glad my videos have helped you. And please do not hesitate to ask for help from a professional. That is what they are there for. It has changed my life so much. I know it can seem discouraging to realize you can’t just do it on your own but it is a chemical imbalance. And it is your health just like a cold or the flu or strep throat. And it can be treated. Good luck & I wish you all the best!

My anxiety is so out of hand that I’m physically ill as a side affect. My blood pressure and pulse rate is so high that my life is literally in danger. Medication controls both the heart issues and the anxiety and while the bp and pulse is under control the anxiety is NOT! I have SEVERE social anxiety very very very similar to what you explained. Not wanting to go anywhere alone and being absolutely terrified to the point of having a full blown panic attack at the thought of getting a job. I’m doing college online so thankfully my parents aren’t requiring me to get a job for a few years until I graduate but even so still just the thought sends me over the edge idk what I’m gonna do. I’ve been having this new thing happen where I will suddenly just get an overwhelming wave a anxiety wash over me and feel like I’m literally having a mental breakdown.

Paige 1996 I’ve been there exactly. And that was at my worst but it does get better. Just like everything else in life it will have highs and lows. I have heart issues as well aside from anxiety and my anxiety makes it immensely worse so I’m not heart meds and an anxiety pill from my therapist. All I can suggest is to find a therapist that understand you and is willling to work with you until it’s under control. I know it’s hard and it requires massive patience but just hold out hope. That this part will not last forever.

Samantha Ann thanks I appreciate your reply so much! It’s so helpful to find someone else who lives at home and doesn’t have an “outside” job so to speak. Do you have any tips for getting a job where you can stay at home? All I can find online are scams but I know you recently got a new online writing job. Where I live going to a therapist is looked down on and it makes me so mad because unless you’ve lived it, I don’t think you should have a right to tell me what the social norm is. My doctor suggested a therapist and I scheduled and appointment and at the last minute my dad wouldn’t let me go even though I’m 21. That didn’t help matters so I’m trying to decide what to do because I am on my parents insurance and living at home so I don’t really get a say in something like that even though I fully believe I should as I’m an adult and should be making my own decisions......is the person you see just called a therapist or is it a psychiatrist or psychologist? I mainly just need the type that I can talk to because my doctor already prescribes my medicine so I don’t really need to see someone for that.

I go to a doctor who can prescribe medicine so its a psychiatrist, but a therapist is much easier to find and tends to be more affordable. If your parents look down on therapy you can try to explain to them that anxiety is not a crutch, rather it stops you from living your life and you want to live a fulfilled life where you can get a good job outside the house and talking to a therapist cannot hurt. And as so jobs, it helps as I have my degree and lots of experience. But I started out applying to remote jobs on Indeed, I also make sure to update my resume on LinkedIn regularly. I also use UpWork for more temporary jobs, you can sign up and look for jobs or people will look for you if you have the right info in your profile. All the jobs on there are remote and are usually in graphic design, video editing, writing or the like. I'd also recommend what I think is called Fancy Hands, you can do simple jobs from home for people like calling their cable company etc. If your parents won't let you go to a therapist, you can try to find someone online willing to skype, but it may be pricier. Your school should also offer some sort of counseling for free so I'd look into that if I were you. I hope this helps.

Samantha Ann thank you this does help! My doctor wanted to send me to a psychiatrist but I think my parents would be more accepting of a therapist just for counseling at first and then maybe move to a psychiatrist if I feel that’s needed. Calling companies for people sounds like something I’d be good at so I need to check that out!

Samantha Ann just to let you know I put in my application for fancy hands today! I’m hopeful and excited. Even though I don’t need a job right now through college, my parents want me to at least have a part time job when I graduate in a few years and I figure if I can get this job, I can earn as much or as little as I want and I can work around my schedule and best of all work from home. I really hope this works out.

I have found that going to the gym has really helped my mood personally. Are you ready to start the journey of attempting to date again?

jellybeansies oh gosh no. Just heading out for errands on my own and planning trips is a huge deal for me. Dating was hard for me even before my anxiety got so bad so that will be a ways away.
