You two absolutely should start a business where you refurbish mobile homes and RVs !!! This home is absolutely stunning and your husband is phenomenally talented at building,! His workmanship is just fantastic and you have a great eye for decorating, color choices, in judging spatial relationships and how each object fits into the bigger picture of the room. You could use this video as an advertisement for your business . Just let me add, I want this kitchen! It's absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking and you two should be so incredibly proud of yourselves. I can't get over the finished product in comparison to the money that you actually spent .

Awesome!! There's nothing like sweat equity. In 1973, we bought a run-down trailer, fixed it, sold, bought an old house, fixed it, and sold it. We did that more than once. 😉 We retired to a 6 bedroom brick home in the mountains. More young people need to build a life instead of going into massive debt, buying a sparkling new beautiful house. Debt ruins more marriages than sweat ever did. Hard work, learning to do things yourself is priceless. Go build a life.❤

I've done ho me remodeling, kitchens, baths and all. It's a hair pulling task to take on. My former home was the house that Jack built and everything needed replacement, including the fireplace chimney and heating chimney, windows, doors, appliances, wall repair, gardening, electric and plumbing. I was in the home 17 years and it was an ongoing project through those years. When I left, all it needed was the driveway to be repaved. I have no idea how much it cost, but my best guess was $150,000. It is wonderful to see it finished for 6 months, before I had to move. I didn't get close to what I put into it, but my children saw that even a wreck like what we had, could turn out to be the most beautiful house on the block. You've done a fantastic job, and your husband is an artist in his craft. I love the window in the hall. Mobile home halls are dreadful. I've never lived in one, but have been in a few. You've turned it around on a budget. God bless you both in your lovely new home.

I grew up in a trailer and lived in them most of my adult life. The one I grew up in is now a house and you would never know that it was a trailer first if you didn't know. My Dad could build a house from the ground up so he built a foundation around the trailer and then tied the 2 together. The only place you could tell is if you crawled under the house, you would see the original frame of the trailer. My parents didn't have the money up front and did projects as they got the money. You and your husband did an amazing job on transforming your home!!

Your husband has mad carpenter skills. The knockdown texture on your walls is excellent. Probably the best thing you chose to do. But that window in the hallway! I wish you could see the gesture I am making because it is bellissimo! That window makes such a statement! I might have to add another comment later but that window stopped me dead in my tracks and I had to say something!! I’m not finished watching the video yet.
So I’m nearing the end of your video and I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed watching this and hearing your commentary. The floor is your kitchen (and the design) is amazing. I'm gonna have to borrow that husband of yours! Fancy a holiday in England? 😁
Wow! This is literally Heaven on Earth!!! It's like you took everything I love, extracted it from my brain, and placed it in your home! The colours are literally perfect! I love white interiors paired with natural light wood tones. That kitchen is stunning. I'm normally not a fan of islands, but that one is a work of art, the whole kitchen area is beautiful.
The guest bathroom is such a transformation. That window makes such a difference in there. When I watch walkthroughs of American mobile homes, I always say to myself "what's up with their windows over there?" 😂. They're typically small and many aren't functional. I've never had a window that doesn't open. Well, I've had windows that are like four panes of glass, and maybe the top two open but not the bottom, or vice versa. But I've never known a window frame, where none of it opened.
That hallway window took that tiny area, from mobile home to newly built house. I know it doesn't open, but it makes it so much more classy looking. And those bay windows in the bedroom are beautiful too. They look so elegant with the way he added all the trims and windowsills throughout. Love that coat and shoe cubby too, another tiny section of space that makes a big impact. I always feel that mobile homes are long thin tubes, very closed in, dark, almost like being in a freight train carriage, but you've opened this thing up so much that the inside looks like a real house interior.
It's truly stunning, and NOT just because it's such a drastic improvement! But because the workmanship, colours, style design, use of space, airy feeling and the quality of the end result is just beautiful. It looks so classy, very elegant and stylish. I love it all. I can't wait to see more! I'm so glad I clicked on this video. You have a lovely lovely home, well done! 😘
Now then, about borrowing this husband of yours....... 😜

God bless your determination and hard work! In 2015 I bought a wreck of a prairie ranch house; 864 sq. ft. 2 bedroom one bath with an attached 624 sq. ft. garage/shop on a 1/3 acre with a four car cement driveway. I paid $11,000, it was in poor shape having endured a 6 year period of vacancy. I’m in it for about $58,000 now - and people in my small West Texas city have been driving by to see for themselves why people are talking about my house. I changed the roof line, and added a high gabled 8’ x 23’ post and beam front porch that completely transformed the way my house looks. I’ve still got a lot of work to do, this summer I’m changing out all the old and highly damaged ceiling drywall for complete tongue and groove pine ceilings throughout the entire house. I’m in my ‘60’s and hope to complete the renovation in the next few years before I retire.

Did you upgrade the 100 amp electrical service? What about the AC ductwork? To name a few. But definitely to do-it-yourself with what looks like quality craftsmanship, you all should be proud. 3 years is a long time, but to do it right is worth it. I wish you well in your endeavors to add on to this home. I would caution you to make sure to include easy access fire escape routes because of the high flammability of the mobile homes (especially the older ones). I have seen many people add onto mobile homes, and even place two of them side by side, the latter ones were called death traps by firefighters. Two of the paralleled trailers caught on fire down the road from us, and a young girl was lost inside due to confusion from the smoke/fore. Her grandmother was able to guide her out, but lost her life doing so. The girl arrived in the ER where I was working, and had to be transferred to another hospital.

What a great job! I bought my double wide from my brothers estate . He had renovated it, with new insulation, and new wood paneling . But, I cleaned it all up. Painted the paneling. Put in new doors, moulding, and wow. What a difference it made. I also did a lot to the kitchen, which had all new stainless steel appliances. Makes me so happy, as you must be with your place. God bless the man who helped you with all the renovations ❤❤ much love from north east Ohio, Cindy

Hello, I’m very very impressed. I never saw you before and I was skipping around looking for something and you came up. I’ve always wondered about living in a trailer. I lived in One as a child when we lived in Tennessee I lived in a double wide and I lived in a single lived in log cabins, lived in regular houses Lived in apartments. You did a beautiful job you maintain your space I like the colors you picked because it has a modern look and it looks good and will retain that elegance a simple elegance to your home. I love seeing I believe that is your husband working and I like the way you broke things down basic down to earth very nice I will pray very much for you and your family to enjoythat your home with stands weather conditions, and I I have not seen such a lovely elegance in a long time and I love the way you played with the gray and white and green and white is not my favorite but you did something too with the splash of color. Love the tops the wooden tops. Oh my goodness you brought out the naturalness there, you did a very fine job both of you so thank you for the inspiration. I’m an older person and I was thinking I may have to end up in a trailer one day after seeing this doesn’t scare me as much, so may be blessed idle and may your home prosper along with your family.

You and your husband are my new heroes. I know that was quite an undertaking and probably all-consuming these past few years…but man is it worth it. I love your debt-free aspiration. So many young people are paying so much for homes…my concern is the impact financial stress can have on a marriage, one’s health and a feeling of gloom and dread for years to come. You didn’t compromise beauty, quality or your desires for the home. Thanks for posting this. May God continue to bless your home and your lives. Beautiful make-over.

You both are so wise. Keeping your debt down is incredibly important. It gives such a feeling of freedom & peace. I encourage everyone to get books from the library, watch UA-cam, learn from others. Just try it. My projects always take 6 times longer than I thought they would, but they always look better than the original state. You two have a beautiful home.

Good lord this is amazing.. God, please send me a man like Yadel LOL... I take care of my mom and we lost our 5 bedroom 4 bath house and were forced to buy this rundown mobile home. spent $40k on it and it's awful. they lied so much about the condition. we paid a man $10k to fix the floors and repaint it... The dude pulled up the carpet laid down cheap laminate and didn't bother to fix the flooring underneath.
The floors are uneven and he put laminate in my mom's bathroom when we asked for tile and shes on home hospice and her bathroom is too slippery now. I asked him to check the kitchen floor he said it was fine but it wasn't... tiles started cracking now it's caving in cuz of water damage.. yesterday we spent $705 we didn't have to fix 2 cracked valves under the kitchen sink cuz they busted everywhere. I am so overwhelmed. With my mom on home hospice and my daughter about to turn 7 I'm unable to work cuz they are full-time care. Its so overwhelming.. I wish I had this type of skill and the tools cuz right now I dunno what to do.
I hope every day you feel the extent of your blessings. Cuz you truly are blessed

It's amazing how the single wides pretty much had the same floor plan. The sweat equity really shines in this remodel ❤ Those of us that have remodeled a mobile home know the struggles and the "Oh no"s! of the surprises uncovered along the way. I helped remodel my 1986 16×70 mobile home but it didn't come out nearly as beautiful as ya'lls! ❤ You guys worked so hard and have a beautiful home now. I am very proud and happy for you two. Stay safe and GOD bless

My spouse and I have been looking for a retirement home out in the country, but I'd rejected a number of properties because they had older model mobile homes on them that were so dated! My problem with mobile homes is that they absolutely look like mobile homes inside and outside. But if we could remodel a mobile home to look like this inside, I would go for it. Thanks for including the pricing--that can help us budget. I love the design as well---who designed this? If it was you, kudos--it has the perfect farmhouse esthetic. It's bright, it's clean and while updated and modern, still feels homey. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing this. I have all kinds of ideas swirling around in my head.

Unless you have someone who has skills, is honest and cares about the quality of work they do you could end up broke and broken hearted. Materials are so expensive-even recycled-and the only workers I found destroyed so much of my materials, didn’t properly seal anything windows included. Never again for me.

This looks like it was already a Home purchased brand new, Yall did a great Job with your home remodoling, and its some comforting and Inviting, its a HOME, Not a House, there is definately a difference.. Thank you for sharing that this can be done on a Budget that wont have you in a Life Time of Debt! The Bonus is when your spouse is talented to do the work, my hubby can build a house from the ground up, both inside and out, but we didnt start out making good decisions now that we are Older we make wiser choices but still paying for the bad one, But with God all things are possible! and it is looking Clearer we do own our owm home on a small piece of property, but looking to buy a few acres and doing something like this... I am a decorator aw I see you have the EYE also!! thats a gift that I am grateful to have, so the inside will definately not be a hard chore for us. Blessings to you and your family.💞

You guys did a beautiful job, I absolutely love the countertops and shelves you did in your kitchen. Very Unique! I wish we had a Joe's Stuff and Such out here. but I will be looking more on Market Place for materials. I can see where you saved a ton of money going that route. My wife and I just finished a mobile home flip and I did a lot of the work myself as well and had to redo some stuff that we hired out. Took us about 8 months on a double wide, But I think we will look for a singlewide on our next one. Thanks for your video, you and your hubby did an awesome job!

The labor is always 2/3 to 3/4 of the total cost of renovating, so your labors were that equivalent. I burned out on renovating dilapitated mobile homes because too many people aren't even familiar with the adage: "A stitch in time saves nine". Every mobile home renovation project I embarked on started with shut off valves at the faucets and plumbing outlets, so I could continue to have running water at other locations while repairing rotted floors from plumbing leaks.

I am waiting for him to set it up on the property. He is just taking longer than I expected and I am not pleased with that, but I am hoping for February, 2024. I need to move in so that I can start working on the interior. I will have to buy some tools and equipment in order to make the job look updated and contemporary.

My late husband spent his working life after Vietnam in the mobile home business from set up in the North Georgia Mountains to a 1000 unit Manufactured Home community near Atlanta, where he was the Maintenance Manager. I've seen some refurbished homes in that time, but this is a great job and such a labor of love. You really could do this as a business with people choosing a different life, scaling down, and homesteading. And yes, glory to God, and thank you for sharing this. Be blessed.

I'm in the process of purchasing an old construction job site trailer with the plan to renovate it. You all have inspired me so much. As a single woman, there's only so much I can do alone, but you've given me a lot of great insight on how to get started and hire contractors when needed. I'm taking a tiny home-building class in May, so that will be helpful. You all should consider teaching others how to remodel a trailer, for a fee of course. Best wishes as you continue making upgrades and expanding!

Great Job. I covered the outside of my mobile with 1.5 inch foam and siding. I used a lot of foam in a can to seal the exterior. Under the pergo I put 1/2 inch foam. That probably voided the pergo warranty but my floors are warm. Roof, 1 1/2 inches foam. Done

This is incredible! You did such a great job turning that busted trailer into a home! The trim choices are wonderful. I was skeptical about the kitchen flooring at first, but it all came together beautifully! I think the ONLY thing I would change would be to flip the decorative wood pieces over the suction hood and fridge area 180 degrees, but that's just my personal taste. I am in awe.
