You mentioned it at the beginning, watch your hands. Keep them at 9 and 3 Even if you have to cross your arms. Watch the video of your friend with the Corvette, his hands were accurate. On the last track you showed the video of there was one corner where you would have to go hand over hand to get around it, and not stay at nine and three. Otherwise stay at 9 and 3. Nice progression in only your second autocross.

Subscribed!! loving the content Jake, your man in the corvette and your girl are better on the wheel to be fair IMHO, you shouldn't need to grab or shuffle wheel unless its mega tight turn or your winding off lock after a long slide, great little track i wish we had this in the U.K.
Thanks for subbing! I was under the impression that when people told me to keep my hands in the 9 and 3 position that I should keep them in that position even when the wheel is turning. I was told not to be crossing my arms and making a pretzel lol. But either way, I’m still learning and can only get better!

The track content is AWESOME! My girl is the same way when I’m at the track. I’m far from a pro but in my experience, keeping your hands at 9 and 3 is a lot easier if you are closer to the wheel. On the road it’s more comfortable to be back a bit, but on the track you want to be closer to the wheel. Scoot up till your elbows are bent at 90 degrees for a rough starting point. Other than that, you are doing good for a newbie. Keep looking ahead to the apexes and use the entire track.
Your M3 and your 135i are nice cars, but your fiancé is a zillion times more nicer. She is very beautiful. Congratulations on your engagement.

If you want to improve keep watching the video of your buddy in the Corvette, very smooth and not so busy with his hands. The F80 and C7 obviously do not have the same steering rack so there are points where you would need to go hand over hand (and he didn't), but generally speaking the less busy with the hands the smoother (and faster) you will be. The F80 has a bit of understeer anyways, but when you overcharge the corner and add a bunch of steering it is only going to be worse. Think about using as little steering as possible (car is faster in a straight line), but as much is necessary. A bit of tire squeal is ok, but a lot or constant squeal is generally not.
