IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE the Magic Eraser on the SCREEN!!! It will remove the anti-reflex coating and you will be very sad! Use it only on the keyboard and aluminium/mate plastic parts. Always try first on a small, less visible, area.
For the past two years I didn’t clean my Apple Wireless Keyboard - it got really disgusting! But in less than 10 minutes I can clean it perfectly, like when it was new. Don't believe me?
To me the best combination was: clean the keycaps' faces with Magic Eraser, then use the Cleaning Gel/Slime to remove the nasty gooey dirt around the keys.

Plastic is tricky, specially when it has shiny finish. On my MacBook White I only used magic eraser on the keyboard itself and around the keyboard (where the plastic is mate/textured). But if I had stains on it, I would prefer not having the stains :) It is clear why premium laptops use aluminium instead of plastic.

Great video. I've been watching ASMR videos for over ten years so the last thing that I was expecting from some random video about how to clean a keyboard were some legit ASMR tingles. The music was super relaxing as well. For some reason I never even thought about using wet wipes to clean my laptop. With only using the wet wipes my laptop went from looking really nasty to only a little dirty so I might buy some of that slime to clean the rest of it.

Hey everybody! I am SO HAPPY to finish this video - it was a project I begun recording at April 10th - almost 6 months ago! You can compare my beard at 0:14 and 4:59 😆, when I recorded the last missing clip (my beard grows very slowly, though). I make my videos in this weird process: first I record some experiments, then I write the text with everything I want to say - I record the audio narration you hear - and only then I begin recording the most of the video material that supports the narrative I want to tell. I end up with empty holes that I will only fill with videos further in time. That is obviously NOT how UA-cam videos should be made 🤣 Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video.
PS: I am pretty much confident I will receive comments saying "This is not ASMR!" 😜 Maybe this is just me talking softly and nothing more.

hey nice video, however can u plz share some light on the Topic, Processor Power Management, under this can we reduce the Maximum Processor state to 70% from 100%, coz it reduces the heat but i am not sure whether it causes any issue to prcoessor or mother board, so just advise me whether its ok to bring it to 70%.

Ha ha, yeah! That keyboard had a stupid internal design feature: the F and J letters had their mechanisms 90° rotated compared to the rest. I only realized that when I was about to make the change for a DVORAK layout... then result was 4 keys rotated. The Apple Wireless Keyboard didn’t have this problem: you can replace all the keys’ positions and nothing gets ugly 😁
No I actually think the rotating key is very cool. The DVORAK layout is new knowledge to me. Thanks for the explanation!

ASMR - lol. The best solution for this is Lighter Fuel which is very refined petrol (gas, sorry) which strips off the grease immediately and then evaporates and a damp cloth for anything not grease related. A small tin of lighter fuel will last years and it also cleans fingerprints off traditional glossy photos too and labels off products.

70% isopropyl alcohol will actually work better. With any cleaner, you run the risk of removing paint.

Hi there 👋 the Slime can be used a few times (I would say 5 times). It gets darker and less “fluid”, even if you close it hermetically inside its plastic bag. The melamine foam “disintegrates” as you use it. You can clean a lot of things with a single sponge.

Thank you Rick! Yeah, I use Final Cut Pro X. For MANY years I used Windows and I had phases of Premiere, Sony Vegas (which I loved), and a very good editing solution that used a hardware accelerated editing video board (that I don’t recall the name) on times where a Pentium III alone was sloooowww at rendering video 🤣. I settled on Final Cut for its speed and reliability, really easy to use. Oh, I made a video on iMac RAM upgrades and how it affects Final Cut performance: ua-cam.com/video/Aefc75htTNo/v-deo.html

Hi there! I never tested what happens if you put the gel on water… BUT, be sure: the gel is a consumable. You might clean a keyboard around 5 times with the gel from a single envelope… it starts gettin nasty and thicker. Dust and dirt are impossible to separate from the gel - it becomes part of the gel. That’s it!

Absolutely - that’s a problem! Really: there is a bunch of channels dedicated to relaxation and getting to sleep... ads + autoplay next video totally ruin the experience 🤣 I am working on a personal project related to that 🤔 Eventually it will become a video.

Have you tried the magic eraser on newer macbook models?
Well, I have an MacBook Pro 2011 - which is aluminum 😁 I already used MagicEraser to clean it once or twice, didn’t notice anything weird. BE CAREFUL to NOT USE Magic Eraser ON THE SCREEN!!! The screen in all Apple laptops and iMacs have special anti-reflective coating. If you use anything abrasive on the screen, you might damage/remove the coating and you will be really sad.

Thank you so much! 😁 Wow, 8 months already? No, I didn’t quit. I got carried away by different projects I am working at the same time... and didn’t finish any one of them. Then came the Corona virus: having our daughter at home (no school) makes everything more difficult to make videos, and I almost died of Covid... 😱 Took me a month to recover.
Anyway, I am fine now. I love making videos. Some projects take months of work, but I really appreciate the final result: it doesn’t look like something made by a single person, does it? 🤔

I totally remember you :) I am glad you are enjoying the Blue Compass!... I used a Blue Yeti for almost 3 years, I liked it a lot! Now I use a Blue Spark connected to a Focusrite Red Scarlett 2i2. I did this change only because the Blue Yeti's USB was limited to record up to 48kHz sample rate, and I wanted to record at 96kHz.
