I want to know what happened to the rest of psytrance?? all we get now is Forest. Shame really as it use to be a really expansive class of electronic music.
I guess everything will run its course as it's meant to. And I don't think that the other sub genres of psytrance are going to cease to exist or anything drastic like that. And also as a music producer it's good to dive into different kinds of music than we are comfortable with. Just as a practice of increasing your skill set.
@ I fully agree with trying new stuff as that’s how you experience life. I guess what I’m getting at is that what we call forest now use to be much more rare. & now it’s hard to find anything but. I feel like it’s stuck in a loop. I grew up in Goa 80s - 90s & there were so many paths open. Cheers for the vids dude!
I get what you're saying, it's just that If you look at what skazi, astral projection, paranormal attack are doing now, it just doesn't feel the same. I mean it just feels a bit more commercial to me, but that just my opinion. Psytrance has also gone mainstream
@@Skanoh Indeed. PsyTrance went mainstream when Infected Mushroom did a Computer Music collar way back in 2002-3 around then. since then its becoming more & more diluted. it has to to sell tickets & appeal to the masses. I still love all the sounds tho.. xD
There's plenty of non-forest psytrance. Just quickly looking through my collection, the following record labels are not forest: tech safari, sacred technology, maharetta, dacru, HOMmega, United Beats, Nano, tip, iboga, spin twist, mosaico, profound, BMSS, grasshopper, digital om, stereo society, yellow sunshine explosion, tesseracTstudio, iono, ovnimoon, etc...
