Wonky and Wellie at Mfuwe Lodge

- From October to December each year, in the grounds of Zambia's Mfuwe Lodge, the lawn around the fruiting 'Wild Mango' tree becomes the dining room for Wonky Tusk, Wellington and their whole elephant family. They even invite a few approved guests along ... having first taught them the short cut through the lodge lobby of course!

I don't know how many people realize it, but the elephants are being very careful not to knock over stuff, they are huge, but yet are caring enough not to disturb the stuff that is there. Take a look at from this time code 1:58 how the elephant raises it's truck not to know over the table and is also careful not to disturb the stuff in the chair. Elephants are amazing animals.
Elephants are so intelligent and sensitive. It's wonderful to see them peacefully moving through the lodge to graze the wild mangos. Good ellies!
Wonderfull! As long as they remember that wild elephants are by nature protective of each other and can get dangerous fast if they feel threatened

I love all your videos, thank you so very much for posting them!! However, I have a concern for Wonky and her backward tusk. It looks like it is slowly growing dangerously toward her chest. Are there any thoughts on how this tusk can be cut back a bit. I understand it is a tooth, and the growth from this tooth will continue to curve backwards, so cutting the tusk back, or off, will not end the problem. I also understand that Wonky is part of a herd who most likely will try and defend her if medical intervention is attempted...still, there's a wealth of compassionate medical professionals around Africa and I'm sure with due diligence a happy-ending solution for Wonky can be found....right?

i watched this documentary and followed up...in the end wonky tusk was found dead. her baby wellington now comes with his sister, who presumably took over the role of matriarch....do they still walk through the lodge 2016?
Has the poacher got her ? Shes found did due to natural cause ?

If they're going to use those elephants for marketing, they should get a contractor to come in and remake those steps to make them a little more elephant friendly. They look a little dangerous for big elephant feet

I can't help wondering why Wonky Tusk's wonky tusk is her left one for half the vid and it is her right on for the other half. Reminds me of some movie stars of the forties who had a mole - oops , I mean 'beauty - spot' and it wasn't always in the same place.

I hope a giant bull doesn't get the wrong idea about the humans getting too friendly with their "women". I've heard of that same dynamic having unexpected and shockingly horrendous consequences with jealous male chimpanzees. The poor human never saw it coming, probably never even crossed his mind. But imagine you're sitting there having a great conversation with some beautiful woman, making her laugh and touch your arm periodically, and you fail to notice her gangster boyfriend watching you and getting madder and madder and madder...
Is the piped music Park-wide with no respite ..... seems to drown-out the Bush, Birds and other Wildlife.

These beautiful majestic elephants are SKIN & BONES. Gov't and/or other BENEFACTOS should do something to HELP THEM LIVE MORE EASILY. Poachers/hunters should be eliminated!!!

Glad ellies are happy. Had terrible times. Bugs in room, rude personnel, rooms were dirty *bedbugs too. Go see ellies elsewhere in more comfy setting. Absolutely NOT enjoyable.
