I'd disagree there. Plenty of shitty games out there that were made by people who were heavily driven by passion. Hopefully this game is not one of those shitty games.
Looks more like one button mashing. He has done plenty cool combos, while being on level 1. In DMC you needed to unlock all theese combos through the game.
take a look at Dust: An Elysian Tail, another one man project with the difference being dust also did all the art and only went out of house for sound assets.
This looks absolutely stunning! I'm an indie developer by myself and seeing how much work you pushed into this project.. This is overwhelmingly amazing! This looks like a project of a solid team. Now I want to create game like this on my own and I got so much inspiration to do it. Thank you, keep up a great work, looking forward to see more footage and maybe gameplay demo!
No need to switch, I already use ue4 bro))) (engine gives you lightning and tool for particles, but it doesn't give you models, animations, environment and a hell a lot of scripting, alright?)
+TheGreengree just sayin that this engine is cool and makes development a lot easier than in the other engines (even when it comes to scripting). So good luck with your projects bro.
Honestly this puts so many high end developers to shame. They have the budget and refuse to put the time and passion into their titles. Fantastic fucking job. You're going to ignite a lot of fires, and support from the gaming community with work like this. This is the best thing to happen to gaming in a long time. Keep up the good work.
Well he has the support of a good game engine lol. If he had to make it from the ground up, it wouldn't look as good lol. But that's just my somewhat uninformed opinion. It looks great though :D
One recent thing that pissed me off was the the half-assed effort for the reload animations/audio in the division. Tons of people praise the weapon models and stuff like that, but the animations are horrendous (don't look natural) and audio is reused across weapons, and doesn't even sound right), whereas some smaller companies like tripwire, and modders make better animations/audio).
It's not the developers fault, majority of the time they are given a deadline. It's not that they don't want to put in the time, it's that they just don't have it. You should research how development ends up going. Many indie titles don't have any kind of deadline, allowing them to work on it as long as they generally want.
Freakin'Usernames While in some cases this is true. Not every case is so simple. There are a handful of games that have been delayed and delayed far beyond the deadlines. Yet even with (in some cases) being delayed for nearly a year. Games can still come out as an unfinished product. Filled with bugs and lack of content. Generally an unfinished game. Maybe you should do a bit more research. the "Deadline" for most AAA Titles. Each game takes about 1 to 2 and in some cases nearly 4 years to create. So you're telling me that an entire team over the span of a year or two. Aren't at fault for the lack of content and a well made game? Lol smh did you know Watch Dogs took 6 years to make? Yet nearly everyone who played it agrees that it sucks. So tell me again who needs to research.
Nope. Old people make all the cool shit. From your phone, your clothes, your sports, tv shows, your OS, all that manga and anime shit. Machine Learning is easy as balls today and is only a subset of AI which nobody is close to cracking.
That's because he's not cockblocked by other people's ideas, he can do whatever the fuck he wants with his game, that's why solo devs make awesome games, we should support them more.
If one dude can make this in roughly 2 years, then Mighty No. 9 really had no fricking excuse with the money and people that was thrown at it. Keep up the amazing work dude!
You're comparing a trailer where we honestly see very little vs. a finished game with a ton of content. Not good content, necessarily, but a ton still. Furthermore, this guy has made use of premade assets from the Unreal Engine asset store, which significantly cuts down on development time, as asset creation is the most time-consuming part of game development besides building an engine. Mighty No. 9 has everything created from the ground up. Art, music, backgrounds, level assets, character models, effects. Everything. Not to shit on this guy at all. He's still done amazing work on his own. Game development is very difficult, and what he's accomplished so far is very impressive.
+Potidaon Not everything in this video is premade assets so he still had to do some work creating them and even still the combat and animation alone is better than anything I've seen in that trash no9 game that had a 4 million dollar budget and plenty of people to help design the game not to mention the UI in this game already looks great. This game really shows you the difference between someone really having a passion to give you a good game and someone who just wants what's in your pocket (mighty no9.)
Game looks so good and I would love to invest money to make it better. So The creator should consider realising this with a big team. He has our support!
First off, FUCK what anyone says about his character design being generic or how it's just another generic game in general. This guy made the ENTIRE game by HIMSELF. This game is SO clear and so precise. There is no choppy half assed work here. This is high quality game designing, and ANY team would be BLESSED to have him, if the person felt the team was good enough that is.
Look man, it gets there, it really does, but the whole first part of the trailer up until the zoom in in the field is pretty laughably bad. As soon as combat comes up the whole thing shines. Basically, dude should have focused on gameplay in the trailer, because the cutscenes are just so jarringly below the mechanics in production quality. I think you said it best with "any team would be blessed to have him" I'll put emphasis on the word TEAM here. He would be a stellar part of a production team, even a small one, because I'm not sure he's up to the task of relaying a compelling narrative, or making his maps look nice from a distance, or animating a cutscene, or choosing voice talent, or making that weird dog thing animate in a way that looks natural. Really more of a cutscene gripe, it looks mostly fine in the running around bits, but having it do the same circle over and over again while you walk is a bit distracting. Slow it down and make that an idle animation and you're good, but for walking probably just have it follow. I dunno, stuff. This is super impressive for one person, imagine how much more polished it could look if he brought more people on.
nasser adel Yeah I know. But the reason why I think it would be a kick in the balls is because plagiarism is a bit of a touchy subject to game designers. And having UA-cam identify your game as another game is like accusing you of plagiarizing. Of course, don't take it literally.
Well, the guy isn't a registered game developer and he isn't supported by any developer or publisher as far as I know. If I remember correctly, Square Enix, Capcom and other developers offered him a job as the head of development team. He'll probably join Square Enix's team so he could nullify any legal accusations SE would make should he join another company.
Most AAA companies put money into marketing. Consumers buy into the marketing of bad games which in return tells the companies to continue churning out the same garbage.
Well, you aren't going to see many indie developers create games solo (or in relatively small teams) like the Witcher 3, Skyrim or other expansive RPG or JRPG games. A difference between certain AAA titles and indie titles is content and quality of content. This can comes in the form of assets, voice acting, music, additional merchandise, etc... Although, personal opinion, I think AAA is a poor term to use in a gaming sense. It does not reflect the value of a game in anyway because ultimately a game comes down to enjoyment.
the fact that one of the moves is he stabs the sword into an enemy kicks the sword then grabs the sword to slice through the enemy is the sickest shit ever SSStylish in my book.
I just want them not to screw the story. this will be the game of the century in hack and slash history. this is just perfect as I imagine a hack and slash game should be. I don't see how other dev. will make something new above this.
This is one of those projects that had little to start on but has had true heart and dedication mixed with skill and detail. This looks like a Triple A game and while I wouldn't mind paying $60 for it, I hope to see a lot more improvement.
You would blow 60 when all you've seen is this? Phahaha, no wonder this industry has a pre order problem. This shows nothing but some assets and combat. SO what, big empty world filled with enemies? People these days see pwitty graphics and ready their wallets. It is impressive that one guy allegedly worked on it, but who knows how many asset packs he bought to do it? No way he made all the textures, animations, cloth physics, etc.
Maz Chege I'd pay $60 dollars for this because if he made this without any real funding, actual funding could result in something much better and even a second game. Take a seat with your whiny bullshit. I don't preorder games but I do spend money on things I want to support.
*Starts watching* "Holy shit, this looks beautiful" 2:20 "Goddamn, I'm sold." 2:56 "OH MY GOD, STOP. I SAID I'M SOLD ALREADY" 3:45 "Good lord, look at those awesome Vergil offspring."
Still waiting Haven't lose hope on you yet Yang san Edit 2021: iam still waiting please keep the progress easy and steady thanks to all the team members who keeps working on this masterpiece one day it will be released and iam so ready to play it❤️
He said this yesterday on his twitter About the crowdfunding I have to say that I know nothing about marketing, I won't ask for people's money before Im surethat I can finish it.
"It's not so difficult..." What? Okay, so generally you have a development team that split up by what people are best at. The odds of finding someone who is good at programming, AND good at making art assets, AND good at rendering and animating those assets, AND good at sound design and finally, who is dedicated enough to pull off a project like this...it's one in a million dude. Hell, it's probably one in a billion. If it were that easy, most indie games would be at this level, but you'll find most of them are much smaller projects with far simpler assets because it's a more realistic goal to achieve when you don't have massive development teams, let alone doing a project solo.
sleepnabox seriously mate.. more than 10 years in developement.. what the fuck were they doing?.. ff13? .. that piece of shit wasnt good at all.. best FF Games were FF7 - FFX Anything beyond ffX was shit
+Deathbringer99699 Yeah I also think ffx3 was made more for a female audience, it's okay but the game's not that good Though this shit looks fucking epic
Dam when i first saw this game i was blown away by it all, and now i find out its from a single creator? This is next level. The amount of talent and vision you have for this is unreal. Take your time with it man no rush, this is a masterpiece in the making, cant wait to see the final product!
I can't even begin to imagine how much time was put into this game. I can only DREAM of making a game that looks half as polished as this, but I'd still need more than just one mind working on it. Indie devs like you are a godsend. Please, keep doing what you are doing, you're a man (or woman...?) after my own heart.
not trying to take away from what he did, but he bought alot of assets to put this together. Even still, the dedication is there, and I will buy this game in a heart beat.
Ethan Cheong Yes and no! Yes, it is quicker, but you sacrifice quality. Of course there are exceptions to this rule such as this game. But in saying that, there were still a large number of people behind the scenes who created those assets. Unless you know how to do both the audio, the visual, know how to market and put it on a digital online store, then by all means go for it.
but devil may cry is a game where you can do a madness combo, heck you can even jugg your enemy with your guns n sword,do a combo on the sky,a lot of skills and weapons
do you see the speed of combat done by one man? Then look at Square Enix who are still thinking that timed turn based combat is the best system, i'm not badmouthing it, but it does slow down the gameplay immensely
I agree. Why do people say these things when they haven't play these games yet. I like both of these games for different reasons. I like Final Fantasy XV for its open world where you can interact with NPC, have huge environments to explore and do things such as fishing, go camping, and huge scale summons/battles. As for Lost Soul Aside, I only like the combat. I still need to see more of Lost Soul Aside. So saying which game is better is silly. I rather play both and enjoy them for what they are.
I thought this was looking good as a new major title, when I saw it was made by one guy my jaw hit the floor! MAD respect for this. I'd be amazed if one of the top developers hasn't signed you up already. It's utterly gob-smacking talent!
It's a hell of a lot easier when you don't have to deal with other people and their problems, big difference 1 guy wanted to do t and 1 guy did it vs 20 people who wanted to do something and 15 of them didn't
You can't really just compare it like that. Although still impressive, he bought all the assets. FF obviously uses custom models, music, etc. Voice acting and story writing could be below standards as well.
because there were some serious conflicts in the organization. They were thinking to cancel it but somehow made it and it looks awesome. Working alone sometimes is better, you do not need to argue with everything like design, story or whatever. However this Mr Yang is a genius I have to admit
4-5 years, actually. Development was basically on hiatus from 2006 to 2011. Also FFXV comes out in 2 months, while this is just a trailer for a prototype. And like The Echelon says, he bought all the level assets. Everything FFXV uses is made from the ground up. Even if you compare the two, FFXV has a lot more work done on it than this would have even if he spent 20 years working on it. 1 guy can't match the work of dozens of professionals, regardless of the amount of time spent. That's not a criticism of the guy, just stating a fact.
You are an inspiration for all the game makers around the world, stay focused and keep it rolling! AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: Dont listen the haters, please, they ruined a lot of good developers with their words. DONT HURRY UP WITH IT, take your time, even if the pleople are waiting so much for it, dont finish until your vision comes true, remember, its your little baby, not their. KEEP IT LIKE THE FIRST DAY you start doing it, with passion, time, and no presures. I hope you read it and help you to continue your way, I will wait until you finish it, no matter how long it takes, good things take time, uniques ones takes more.
I am actually writing the story for my own game and watching this just gets me even more motivated. Keep doin what your doin Bing, there’s something special about you with this. Edit: (The game I am working on is going to be a first person shooter in a modern day setting)
Chaz Zeromus Blueprints don't mean you don't have to know what you're doing ;p UE4 is an amazing tool, but this is an example of someone working hard and well to make something great and it's unfair to ascribe that all to the engine.
I think the engine makes up a good portion of enabling those effects and gameplay logic. Color grading, DOF, SSS, GI, PBR material editing are all supported right out the box. Why not just agree that the engine stimulated his creative freedom?
Robert Neville Oh, trust me, they're there. Search Pixel Blitz, and you'll find a couple of trailers for it. That's one of my projects. The other is I think unlisted with a link through my website logicowlstudios.com.
OK, I read it, and... "The current project being worked on at LogicOwlStudios is another timewasting game called Antimatter Bob, which is expected to be released in early 2017." I mean, if you describe your own game as "timewasting", then the feeling of insignificance appears rather justified in this instance.
200-300 people worked on final fantasy XV for about 10 years. Meanwhile this guy is doing this alone. Image what 300 of this guys could do in 10 years.
he used assets that were already created by others, so he only had to "mend" them together. I think, anyone with said skills can do that (only challenge is the 3rd Person View), but here speaks a noob and i dont blame him for his doing and understand what you mean
Uhh, hello final fantasy 15 was using the luminous engine, a proprietary engine(you don't think one developer at square-enix nether thought about it, but people do have families.) this game was prototyped in unreal, of the person built their own engine, that up there with luminous' engine then OMFG what a god. But no, there is no way in hell anyone could build a game from a engine they created on their own at luminous engines quality. Unreal isn't a easy engine but what it offers you is the equivalent too over 1000 people. Rebuilding unreal engine over existing unrealss previous rules wasn't easy and can be seen depending how deep you go down. Blue printing in single player games gives great feedback via c++. Either way for one person to build a game they love can be rewarding or destructive so what ever the outcome don't assume just because this game was made by (well was at the time) by one person don't compare the development process to square-enix.
Holy shit. For a second there, I thought I was watching the DEVIL MAY CRY 5 announcement trailer (In terms of gameplay that is). But seriously though, this game is looking magnificent.
yo I thought this was final fantasy done right lol I wanted to get into t he final fantasy hype but can't because they don't know how to make it lol and this right here got me thinking it was final fantasy lol this is amazing I've waited years to see a game that is a game lol
I can’t lie and say I’m not a bit worried, it’s been quite some time since this video dropped, I just hope the world is full of wonder and that we’re able to explore and do side quests. I really hope this would be a nice 4K 120 on release but that’s wishful thinking I guess, lol. Just don’t drop with a bunch of game breaking bugs like these other games have been doing. This game looks so fkn amazing and I wish nothing but the best for you and your team. I can’t wait to play this game, I’m super excited! I must’ve watch this video around a hundred or so times over the years, showing this to friends and family that also love games. Can’t wait lol
I can't believe that this will come to PS4 - can't wait for this game :D. Thank you Sony for picking this up - hope this will become a really good game, because this got potential. When I saw this last year I was shocked that this game is done by one person, but also I've never believed that this game will come to consoles, but Sony did things right and got so big plus from me now for doing this. Can't wait :D.
absolutely insane just watched the 17, minute gameplay yesterday. I am happy and sad to have just found out about this game. Happy because I don't have to wait as long compared to 2016, sad I wasn't around for all the development and progress of the game. Looks amazing cannot wait to play this OML
I'm gonna assume some things, solely because I myself dabble in game design. The engine he's used to create this has plenty of assets you can buy, as well as assets that are free to use, and incorporate into a project. Also, it takes years for projects nowhere near as complex or extravagant as this to be made, (especially when it's a solo project) which would support my theory of him using assets. (Of course he could modify them or something.) But like, I don't know much about this project. Just saw this in my feed. If you did make this by yourself, teach me dude. If he didn't make this by himself, or did use assets, still a phenomenal job. Some Triple A games that come out don't look as good as this. Hope this comment didn't offend anyone, youtube comments are usually quick to upset people, as they are often insincere. But really I'm just someone who's in denial that this is a solo project. Teach me how to do this please.
It's UE4 (Unreal Engine 4). Unity doesn't do that kind of effects easily and not with that kind of performance. I can see quite a few of the standard assets and come bought ones, which most indie studios do anyways. I'd be interested to see the UE4 blueprints he has setup for this though, the animation is pretty damn good as well.
You may need to correct me on this as I haven't used UE for 4 years. But I found Unity to be much more "intuitive" to the extent my knowledge. Not saying it's better, just saying I feel that there is a decent difference. Not to mention I could import my assets directly into Unity while I had to do some setting up in Maya before I could import into UE. But you are probably right that they are similar engines, but the UI and precepts feel completely different to me.
Unity feels a lot cleaner to me, and does feel just generally better. UE has better graphics capabilities from my experience in them both, but I prefer Unity for a lot of reasons. they're both great however.
Every time I see this trailer I get more Hyped, I'm expecting a lot from this game since some years ago, if it means that it will take some time to get completed, I think it will be worthy it
idk, Modelling, Mocaps, Story writing, Coding, Animating, Optimizing, Testing, Debugging, Re-testing, Porting to other platforms, Re-testing it on other platforms, Debugging (Again), Re-testing, Marketing, Maintaining the game after release and other stuff besides using Pre-Made assets.
more people and more hands on 1 project skews the consistency of the creator. 1 man that knows how he wants the game to look and feel, vs 200 assholes at EA that just want a paycheck
Bing Yang just announced via twitter that Lost Soul Aside will be launching in 2018 and as a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4! He's getting support from Sony and other devs.
How is this even physicaly possible? How can ONE GUY do this?! There are whole tripple A games that look like this, and thoe had whole companies working on them! How did this guys have the time, money, patience, and skill to do this?! HOW?! Eitherway, this game is freaking gorgeous, and if it ever comes out, I'm buying it, no matter the price.
He bought assets. In other words, he did not do it all on his own. He probably did all the programming himself, and that's cool, but animation/modeling/music/sound fx/other fx etc aren't programmed, and this just looks very generic (the world I mean) so it's very likely that it's assets that are bought.
UE4 has a marketplace to buy assets like effects, animations, even game mechanics (like a combo attacking system) so a lot of it was done for him though still an impressive effort and good re-purposing of the marketplace.
+Ventus Θ Lol I just saw 5 minutes of gameplay the shit are you talking about guy. The animations and gameplay alone look better than just about any indie game I've seen and it's by 1 flipping dude.
+Ventus Θ Sorry I'm tired of seeing your 2d sprites and over head indie shovelware that looks like it should've been released 20 years ago. Although cuphead looks amazing.
+Ventus Θ I was just going by animation and gameplay alone. I could care less about a hack n slash story or voice acting as long as the gameplay is tight and from what I've seen this looks insane. You're right I do have to play it before I really judge it but still what has been presented is excellent work.
tbh , it looks really good , the combat gameplay at least but other things aren't revealed yet ( world , level design , rpg element ? , balance , story , etc ... ) so ya , he's sort of right , you can't really judge much right now if the game's good point is only the combat animation then it's nothing more than a tech demo , i'd say wait for more reveal video about the game system .
Holy molly...one single person did all this. What the heck am I doing with my life?...damn! Great job, it looks quite fun to play and with great visuals.
Yeah lol those skills or abilities looks freaking awesome, Still can't believe this is work of a single person and I was waiting for something like this to happen with Unreal Engine.
The potential of a single Game Developer is insane. Can't wait to get our hands on this when it is finally released. Would love to give it a Distracted Review!

hy cynical!! i think you''re going to upload a video about him, i could bet that, im one of your fan subscriber like your youtube good job =))
wow even the KH guy is here, hi. im one of ur subscriber.
True words from cynical himself :')
Hey man make a video about this guy he deserves the recognition.
i came here because of your video and saw people hating it, calling the fighting animation a kids work. honestly i found beauty in its simplicity as well as being ecstatic over having another hack and slash games. the game may not have great voice acting but the game play seems fun. this man puts multi billion dollar corporations to shame
respect
no, just look at how bad the animations look, look at how the graphics of the trees look, look at the frame drops, look at the how close the render distance is, watch the fighting in slow motion
for 1 person it's ok, but it's not better than triple A companies
Chaos Society Do it better
Chaos Society you know something? go fuck yourself!, he's only one person and this Game looks a lot better than some New games so just stfu
Alexis Santana gonzalez you shit the bed or something? why so hostile? calm down man, it's just my opinion, and read the whole comment, i acknowledged that it's good for 1 person, calm down, my point was that it was not beating triple A companies, it's just my opinion, you're entitled to yours too

Who's rewatching this video after the recent gameplay trailer to see how far this game has come now?
Me and I can't believe it is going to be real!!!
lol me!!!
I didnt like the sound effect in the gameplay in this trailer it was better
@@houssem9686 Everything in this trailer was better.
I honestly this this trailer is way better
when passion is what drives a man, not money and the business unit, you get a masterpiece.
amazing man, keep going
THIS
have you played it? How do you know its a masterpiece?
I'd disagree there. Plenty of shitty games out there that were made by people who were heavily driven by passion.
Hopefully this game is not one of those shitty games.
jesus fucking christ can people stop being so jaded?
*****
Then probably the second choice affected their product, the business unit.
FINAL FANTASY LEVEL OF GRAPHICS, DEVIL MAY CRY LEVEL OF COMBAT. I NEED YOUR GAME
Looks more like one button mashing. He has done plenty cool combos, while being on level 1. In DMC you needed to unlock all theese combos through the game.
I don't think so. This game is still in development. I think the level is a placeholder.
I second that.
more like final fantasy XV level of combat though....
i need too. It's so good
Congratulations man you give me hope in the industry!
take a look at Dust: An Elysian Tail, another one man project with the difference being dust also did all the art and only went out of house for sound assets.
right he did, I kinda of thought this generation was kind wrack
but this guy give me hope for action rpg
this is going great
you do know he just used pre made assets and on some points even stole some
I am a solo Unreal developer that is just starting out. I wanted to see what is possible. Now, I am both inspired and intimidated. That is great work
You have my support. Pursue your dream.
This looks absolutely stunning! I'm an indie developer by myself and seeing how much work you pushed into this project.. This is overwhelmingly amazing! This looks like a project of a solid team. Now I want to create game like this on my own and I got so much inspiration to do it. Thank you, keep up a great work, looking forward to see more footage and maybe gameplay demo!
just switch to unreal engine 4 bro
No need to switch, I already use ue4 bro)))
(engine gives you lightning and tool for particles, but it doesn't give you models, animations, environment and a hell a lot of scripting, alright?)
***** you gotta do this stuff yourself. And you can actually avoid scripting at some points of development if you know blueprints well enough bro.
+Romilio bombitos I don't really know what are you trying to say here, but I'll stop this conversation here bro. Have a nice day :)
DMC + FF = i wanna this game. it's genius.
LOL
and those Ninja Gaiden moves.
first thing i thought of as well :D specially DMC
final fantasy

When an single dude makes a game that looks better than most large companies....
It seems almost impossible looking forward to see what comes next now he has a team
That's because he's not cockblocked by other people's ideas, he can do whatever the fuck he wants with his game, that's why solo devs make awesome games, we should support them more.
When you see this trailer and think about how on Earth a fully funded team with employees in hundred could eff up a game like MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA.
it's because he's using a pre-made engine, other companies have to create it from scratch
@@jeneralgod You say it like Unreal Engine 3 mass adoption isn't a thing
If one dude can make this in roughly 2 years, then Mighty No. 9 really had no fricking excuse with the money and people that was thrown at it. Keep up the amazing work dude!
The difference is passion. No.9 just wanted people's money which it knew it would get if it gave us hope for more Mega Man (in spirit) games.
Are you sure he used some presets?
Kory Graphic 100%. I could tell on my own, but he said so on twitter.

@@blackcitadel37 why not? This one was made by one.
He bought a lot of assets on the Unreal Engine marketplace so he didn't make the entire game by himself.
Buying assets aren't counted
Nathaniel Leon Just prove to me that you can do something BETTER, far more SUPERIOR and can have SEQUELS.
+Codename Biterius you can't ask someone to prove that to you until you've done it yourself.
I love the fact that UA-cam recognizes this as Final Fantasy XV
Lol, I know right. I'm pretty sure most people don't mind but I'd personally find it a kick in the balls.
xD but Graphics are good i think i need a Gaming pc + Graphic Card
The guy already said that he based this on FF so no. it's not a kick in the balls.
nasser adel
Yeah I know.
Whelp, looks like triple A developers are shit outta excuses for making bad games.
Props to you, Mr. Yang
Most AAA companies put money into marketing. Consumers buy into the marketing of bad games which in return tells the companies to continue churning out the same garbage.
+Watermelon Chicken Exactly, and these 12 year olds don't even realize that they're getting robbed. Just begging their parents for it.

This is one of those projects that had little to start on but has had true heart and dedication mixed with skill and detail. This looks like a Triple A game and while I wouldn't mind paying $60 for it, I hope to see a lot more improvement.
Same here
You would blow 60 when all you've seen is this? Phahaha, no wonder this industry has a pre order problem. This shows nothing but some assets and combat. SO what, big empty world filled with enemies? People these days see pwitty graphics and ready their wallets. It is impressive that one guy allegedly worked on it, but who knows how many asset packs he bought to do it? No way he made all the textures, animations, cloth physics, etc.
Personally I will wait to see more of what this project actually is before I consider it any more than a tech demo for UE4.
Maz Chege
I'd pay $60 dollars for this because if he made this without any real funding, actual funding could result in something much better and even a second game.
Take a seat with your whiny bullshit. I don't preorder games but I do spend money on things I want to support.

"Oh you know, just some game I made."
lol
"It was a hobby, I didn't even work hard for it"
"It's not so difficult..." What? Okay, so generally you have a development team that split up by what people are best at. The odds of finding someone who is good at programming, AND good at making art assets, AND good at rendering and animating those assets, AND good at sound design and finally, who is dedicated enough to pull off a project like this...it's one in a million dude. Hell, it's probably one in a billion. If it were that easy, most indie games would be at this level, but you'll find most of them are much smaller projects with far simpler assets because it's a more realistic goal to achieve when you don't have massive development teams, let alone doing a project solo.
One person made this? Wow, my props go to you Yang.

Well, it's one dude! He's gotta start somewhere! At LEAST he's not pulling a Digital Homicide
Trust me, game creating takes less time to do by yourself
Ethan Cheong Yes and no! Yes, it is quicker, but you sacrifice quality. Of course there are exceptions to this rule such as this game. But in saying that, there were still a large number of people behind the scenes who created those assets.
Unless you know how to do both the audio, the visual, know how to market and put it on a digital online store, then by all means go for it.
I can feel the loneliness in this...

yes you´re right. I see also a Little bit of Nioh and Nier Automata in the combat system

I've been following the creators posts. He likes those type of games, so he wanted to kind of remake them for his game. He did a good job.
but devil may cry is a game where you can do a madness combo, heck you can even jugg your enemy with your guns n sword,do a combo on the sky,a lot of skills and weapons

How exactly? Y'all say things just for the sake of saying them.
do you see the speed of combat done by one man? Then look at Square Enix who are still thinking that timed turn based combat is the best system, i'm not badmouthing it, but it does slow down the gameplay immensely
this game shits all over Final Fantasy 15
I said it because he made this in 2 years and it took their entire colossal company 10 years to make FFXV, and it'll probably have 65 on metacritic
Please, i need this game. If someone is watching this, plis finish the game and send to all the World. The people need this game.

I came by recommendation of Caith Sith. This is awesome, I congratulate you for this amazing work. well donde and keep pushing! ^^
Square Enix took 10 years FFXV with a team and this guy was doing this wonder alone
And in 2 years!
It's a hell of a lot easier when you don't have to deal with other people and their problems, big difference
1 guy wanted to do t and 1 guy did it vs 20 people who wanted to do something and 15 of them didn't
You are an inspiration for all the game makers around the world, stay
focused and keep it rolling!
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: Dont listen the haters, please, they
ruined a lot of good developers with their words. DONT HURRY UP WITH IT,

unreal engine 4 baby
More like a lot of hard work and some serious skills in art & programming!
He used blueprints, perhaps more of a testament to the engine?
Chaz Zeromus Blueprints don't mean you don't have to know what you're doing ;p UE4 is an amazing tool, but this is an example of someone working hard and well to make something great and it's unfair to ascribe that all to the engine.
I think the engine makes up a good portion of enabling those effects and gameplay logic. Color grading, DOF, SSS, GI, PBR material editing are all supported right out the box. Why not just agree that the engine stimulated his creative freedom?
And the new trailer just dropped for the PS5, you gotta respect the guy for his hardwork and passion 👏

I'm pretty sure he didn't use c++???
What if he'd worked on FFXV?

Just curious where did you get that info? I'd like to check it out for myself
Gemini heavy graphics requires pc, just hate shitstation and their overpriced games.
Teach me how to do this please.
its like using unity 3D I think,
Very similar engines
Every time I see this trailer I get more Hyped, I'm expecting a lot from this game since some years ago, if it means that it will take some time to get completed, I think it will be worthy it
@Devil May Smile Hope so, I don't mind if it take long to get as good as it can be, but the sooner the better XD
New 17 min gameplay look amazing
Dude... This game looks so freaking amazing
devil may cry with final fantasy.... dude! legit!
With a little bit of Dark Souls mixed in with the monsters and how hard they are to kill, and the boss battle(s) to an extent.
+Ballyogan You gotta broaden your horizons, dude, god damn...
looks like devil may cry ...mode... on final fantasy ...,,
omg right
@Ballyogan I saw the character imbue his sword in a way that looked very dark souls-ish
I can't believe you're doing it on your own! GOOD LUCK ON IT!! I'm really speechless!!! it's so beautiful! The graphics and everything are FIRE😍💖🔥
He got a contract with Sony
"It's not for saving the world, just for saving myself" one of the best lines ever, this is how I became a fan.
If one guy can do this by himself, wtf are teams of 200+ devs doing???
They got their heads stuck up their asses
yeah i'm thinking that too, rofl like some 200+ devs games are actually worst than this one game
idk, Modelling, Mocaps, Story writing, Coding, Animating, Optimizing, Testing, Debugging, Re-testing, Porting to other platforms, Re-testing it on other platforms, Debugging (Again), Re-testing, Marketing, Maintaining the game after release and other stuff besides using Pre-Made assets.
Ikr some questions need to be asked and answered immediately.
more people and more hands on 1 project skews the consistency of the creator. 1 man that knows how he wants the game to look and feel, vs 200 assholes at EA that just want a paycheck
like devil may cry + final fantasy 15
a bit of ninja gaiden and gow too
Do not worry Yang. We will be patient for your beautiful and amazing work, no matter how long it takes. :)
Awesome to see how far this game has come from here to the game play footage released months ago. I can't wait to play it!!!
Bing Yang just announced via twitter that Lost Soul Aside will be launching in 2018 and as a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4! He's getting support from Sony and other devs.
Dexter Perry Is this for real? Or are you just trying to pull our legs about it? Just curious. No offense.
Alexia Knightwalker It is coming soon, I see his interview in a Chinese website.
Later. It has been delayed.
Spent an hour trying to find this, it’s been so long haha
How is this even physicaly possible? How can ONE GUY do this?! There are whole tripple A games that look like this, and thoe had whole companies working on them! How did this guys have the time, money, patience, and skill to do this?! HOW?!
Eitherway, this game is freaking gorgeous, and if it ever comes out, I'm buying it, no matter the price.
Talent + unreal engine 4+time + some bought assets = this masterpiece
He bought assets. In other words, he did not do it all on his own. He probably did all the programming himself, and that's cool, but animation/modeling/music/sound fx/other fx etc aren't programmed, and this just looks very generic (the world I mean) so it's very likely that it's assets that are bought.
Because the awesome moonlit castle with glowing tree's was super generic dood >_>
triple*
UE4 has a marketplace to buy assets like effects, animations, even game mechanics (like a combo attacking system) so a lot of it was done for him though still an impressive effort and good re-purposing of the marketplace.
I am in LOVE with the Dragon companion who dub's as a sword let alone this entire project just ONE man has created.
This is how you make a fucking indie game, take note developers.
You're right I do have to play it before I really judge it but still what has been presented is excellent work.
tbh , it looks really good , the combat gameplay at least but other things aren't revealed yet ( world , level design , rpg element ? , balance , story , etc ... ) so ya , he's sort of right , you can't really judge much right now if the game's good point is only the combat animation then it's nothing more than a tech demo , i'd say wait for more reveal video about the game system .
you balance guarding by making good AI. just look at ninja gaiden you try just standing there with a guard up and see what happens.
So Yang, Whats your game gonna be like? DMC? Ninja Gaiden, MGR? FF15?
Yang: Yes.
Can't believe it's been 8 years already!
I just hope this game will not be cancelled! God help this man finish his masterpease!
DMC and FF15 had a baby.
forth dmc actually - look at 3:32 Nero Dante? =))
how i thought haha
😂😂😂
Agreed.
no thats DMC3! Dante VS Vergil on top of the tower
came back again because it's on my recommendation and ngl, still looking awesome as I saw it 2 years ago.
Day will Fall me too
The potential of a single Game Developer is insane. Can't wait to get our hands on this when it is finally released. Would love to give it a Distracted Review!
Did you see the new trailer for this year
@@Bru21424 Yeah it looks even more impressive. Anticipating this more than a lot of AAA games!
