PSVR2 is definitely the superior headset, and the few great games on Playstation are far better than anything on Quest 3, but you cant deny Sony are awful at supporting stuff like this. Developers will soon stop supporting it full stop, if Sony dont do something to push this thing.
delusional… only thing the PSVR2 does “better” is have Resident Evil 4 Remake and eye tracking. it’s got awful controllers, the worst headstrap I’ve ever experienced, last gen VR lenses, bad tracking (only works when I use the tv tracking assist), and the cherry on top; it’s tethered. My MQ3 by itself, I use on the daily. Unlike the PSVR2, I can play anywhere, to include a large warehouse where I can run and spin around to my hearts content without tripping over a wire and destroying- at the very least -my HMD, or at worst my entire PS5. The PSVR2 has no official accessories, nothing to fix the most uncomfortable VR headstrap in the world, no controller straps, and no premium controller option either. Just a finicky charging dock… The MQ3 has WAY more games. It’s got mixed reality experiences and real world utilities. It can sideload, so I can download any android app I want, and have access to Side Quest which has an entire separate library of early access games and applications. Aside from it’s exceptional official accessories, it has several great third party accessory manufacturers that can meet almost any desire. And finally, using either Air Link, the new Steam Link or the ol faithful Virtual Desktop… you can connect to your PC to have access to EVERYTHING PCVR and it’s WIRELESS (you can do it wired too, if you like).
@@mudai_ I have had absolutely no issues with tracking on the PSVR2. Its every bit as good as my Quest. The controlers are far superior to the Quest ones thanks to the haptics. The Halo headstrap has been praised in the VR world for being the most comfortable in the industry, so Sony dont need you to spend extra money to fix the awful headstrap that comes with the quest. The wired tether is a small price to pay to have the best visual experience. There are three types of VR and all have drawbacks. Wired, best for visuals at the cost of annoying wire. Wireless, convenient at the cost of visual fidelity and latency Standalone, convenient and responsive image, but underpower processor. And yes, Quest has more games, but its about quality, not quantity. 150 games on PSVR2, around 30 are must haves Resident evil 4 is not the only game. Bought the Psvr2 on release and still have a lot of fun with it especially because of games like Resident Evil 4 and Village, GT7, Call of the mountain, TWD S&S and No Man Sky. But we definitely need more AAA vr announcements I don’t get why Sony is holding back with that. For the moment I can’t wait for Metro VR.
Ah shit, during my research I'm pretty sure I thought I read it did. But it is fixed foveated rendering, which doesn't use eye tracking. Thanks for this comment I will amend the video!
There are two types of foveated rendering, fixed and dynamic, and both essentially do the same thing, i.e. render a small portion of your view in high clarity, and the peripheral view at a lower quality. Quest 2 and 3 offer fixed foveated rendering, which assumes you are always looking at the centre of the screen, and renders the edges at low res. PSVR2 uses eye tracking to power dynamic foveated rendering. The hardware can detect exactly where your eyes are focused, and will render that part of the screen at a higher quality.
For me, it was and kinda wasn’t worth it. Was massively disappointed with image, Crazy motion sickness is horrible and genuinely makes me scared to play the thing. Mura grainy effect The positive for me, is actually being inside the game world and when it’s a game like resident evil village/ res evil 4, those are incredibly mind blowing experiences. It feels so immersive inside the game and absolutely no distractions. Playing the game on flat tv and being inside, are totally different. When I was playing village, I was so amazed so much and felt incredible and that feeling kinda made it worth it. BUT the motion sickness for me, is scary bad and it really hurts the experience. I’m trying to get used to it. I wish more higher quality games came/come but to be totally honest, these enough for everyone available. I honestly think Sony didn’t even advertise the psvr2 was because ALL kids would want 1 and most of them would get incredibly sick. Imagine a 11 year old trying to play psvr2 on Christmas morning? If the motion sickness scares me, it will deff do same to kids. Can’t knock psvr2 too much because let’s be real, the ps5 itself, really wasn’t that revolutionary and really didn’t provide many NEW games. Mainly sequels of old games we been playing for years and remasters of games , some of which only few years old.
Thanks for watching Graham! I agree Resident evil village is insane, and sorry to hear about the motion sickness. I don't get it in most games, just GT7 so far.
