I think you can get this video with subtitles. It´s from a musical that Benny and Björn from the group, ABBA did a while ago. She sings to god. She has starting to question god´s existens. The musical, Christina from Duvemåla, is a story about the Swedish people who went to America during the very port time here in Sweden. to try to survive and start over.

A bit of a shame that you didn't watch the video with english subs but to give some context:
This is from the musical "Kristina från Duvemåla", a musical written by Björn and Benny from ABBA. This play is based on the quadrant of books "Utvandrarna" (The emigrants) by Vilhelm Moberg. In this song, Kristina (Helen Sjöholm) is questioning if God exist questioning what she would be if he does not.
While you're watching songs from Kristina från Duvemåla, I would recommend two other songs that I've seen other reactions from others on (and yes, both have subbed videos). The first one being "Guldet blev till sand" (The gold turned to sand) by Peter Jöback and the other one being "Hemma" (Home) by Helen Sjöholm again.
If you want more Helen Sjöholm, I would also recommend listening to "Gabriellas Sång" (Gabriella's Song) from the movie "Så som i himmelen" (As it is in Heaven). A real classic that I know will bring us Swedes to insta-watching it ;)

She is speaking to God. The first line "Du fördrev mig, Gud" means "You cast me out, God"
It is from the musical Kristina från Duvemåla. About Swedish immigrants in the US in the 1800s.
There is another very good song from this musical, Guldet blev till sand, sung by Peter Jöback. Check that out, and make sure to watch it with English subtitles.

In the musical, the story this far. She along with her husband and children emigrated to America to avoid starvation. She's extremely religious and she never feels at home in Minnesota. The only thing she has that's driving her is the love of her husband and the love of God.
Before this song, her latest pregnancy ended up killing her baby and almost killing her. The doctor has just told her that she will die if she gets pregnant again. So she sings about the desperation of feeling like God doesn't exist because she's lost her homeland, lost her child and now she's loosing intimacy with her husband. She doubts that God exists but feels like he has to exist because she doen't have anything else left.

The man in the beginning is Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA who wrote this with Benny Andersson, also of ABBA. They moved over to musicals after ABBA, Chess, this musical and Mamma Mia (later made as a movie). I think this is filmed in the "Swedish parts" of the US, don't remember where exactly. Some celebration maybe. It's from around the late 90s.

There is a version with subtitles somewhere out there, which will give you the whole story. As some people say, she sings to “God” and questioning his existence since she lost some of her children. She feels helpless and desperate and wonder what her meaning is if god doesn’t exist. This version is from a live performance in the US which they actually performed in Swedish and is from the musical “Kristina från Duvemåla” (Christina from Duvemåla). She was playing the role in the original setup and the song more or less is written for her.

"Kristina från Duvemåla" is a musical from the 90s written by Björn and Benny from Abba.
Helen was in the original cast from 1995 - 1999. Yes she's still active.

I saw her christmas concert 2022, probably the most emotional concert I've been to. If you have a few hours of spare time you could listen to the whole Kristina från Duvemåla on Spotify Or UA-cam Music or whatever. It's funny that you think it was from 70-80's.. it's actually from the 90's.
