Converting inbound text should be automatic, not all those taps just to see what the other person is saying. Imagine converting 20 different replies and having to copy/paste each one into Google Translate. Very cumbersome and time consuming.
I'm having the same issue. Mine was translating automatically, and it stopped. Now I have to do something similar to you where I have to copy and paste. But yes, LIVE TRANSLATE is supposed to work in Google messaging
@@pauldiam0ndsame here. I was using Samsung keyboard only for that reason. It stopped working for no good reason. I'm back to gboard. The other reason was Samsung's speech to text was garbage.
It worked great in samsung messages before, just highlight and select translate and boom done. Now I have to copy and paste into an outbound message box? Talk about 2 steps back
Great tip but you should let the viewers know what android keyboard you are using. As this is a part of a Google keyboard settings/options and not a Google Messages specific feature. So you canl literally use this translation feature on any text field. Good video!

That will be improved upon
That is what I have to do now but with AI it seems like you can do it automatically on my Samsung but I have to keep selecting it again and again
