You can do the same thing with the scheduling messages on Samsung Messages.

Actually, with Samsung u get more features on the schedule. U can even save message to be scheduled later. I loved that feature so much.

I can't actually block my bank from sending me spam trough RCS. Even if I click to do so, the messages keep coming. The workaround was to set it as not a conversation then disable their notifications. But they keep sending me messages, now just silently.

For groupchat whenever I wanna add someone to a group it creates a separate group instead of adding them to the current group why is that

They should make three different sections in the app, one for personal messages, one for otps and all, one for spam. Or maybe the last two can be done together.

Google messages is infamous for it's bugs
There should be a organiser like there is in the Microsoft sms app
It has some good features, but still misses some basic ones, such as deleting messages or cropping photos before sending
Some of these are not available on Xperia 😢
Unfortunately, SMS let alone an RCS is not even widely known in Asia.
One thing that I wish they would add is setting custom backgrounds.

On my Samsung Galaxy A33, I am in the beta program. Got the theme option in Google Messages, but when I choose some theme, there is text on the screen that says I changed the theme, but has not changed. What to do to make it work?
It will work in time, the trouble with making apps for android 13/14 is that there are millions of different phone models to build for.

In Europe we mostly use WhatsApp and the US is dominated by iMessage and China has WeChat, I have still to see anyone actually using google messages???

RCS is not yet supported on iPhone (Apple's decision). However, they have announced they will be adding the feature this year.

The only problem with scheduling a message with Google messages is having to long press the send button. Samsung has a separate button for this to prevent accidentally sending the message immediately.
None of my contacts use Google messages unfortunately it's difficult to make them use it instead of whats app or messenger
IMO Samsung messaging is WAY better for my needs. For one you can change the background for EACH individual contact and also zoom in/out to make text larger or smaller for each contact. Google now offers "pinning" but Samsung had this YEARS ago! In my personal experience syncing between a tablet and a phone also is greatly degraded using Google over Samsung. Samsung is instant. If you use a Samsung multiple devices you are better off sticking to the Samsung messaging app.

I know right. But they don't consider Google voice as a real messaging. It's just like a burner
Keep in mind if you use Gemini AI inside Messages then you break the RCS end to end encryption because it requires Google servers to process. Not worth it. Just use AI outside of Messages, it's not that inconvenient but way safer.
U aren't actually using Gemini to chat with someone are you? Gemini is just a separate feature that acts like a contact. Just like u have some contacts in your phone who have RCS and some contacts who don't, Gemini is just acting like a buddy who doesn't have RCS

these features work on RCS only. Google Messages RCS is soo bugged. I have RCS enabled and my friend too. but it still sends msgs as TEXT

What really baffles me with Google Messages, and actually made me switch to another messaging app, is the fact that I cannot, despite my many attempts to find out how, simply select a word or a phrase from a message I have received without selecting the entire message. Like why can't I simply long tap a word and have the app let me select a text? Like an authentication code.
It is supposed to be the best messaging app if it is the default. Yet, on that front, it majorly _SUUUUUCCCCKKKSSS._ It's not a lot to ask of.
Now, below any authenticator message, you can press "copy ######" and you can do it from the notification bar, inside the messages app, or in the bubble version of the conversation. It's a whole lot more intuitive than ever before.

In my country most people use 3rd party apps
Used this for a couple of months and told other people to come use it as well, but it's so annoyingly limited. I really wanted to love Google Messages and RCS, but I can't anymore. I can't send a lot of photos at the same time and videos can only reach 30 seconds, unless you decrease the quality but it's still limited. Voice messages also have a poor quality and have a limit of 2 minutes. Sometimes you also can't zoom in on photos. I kept getting crashes as well if I wanted to send more photos. It's just limitations like this that made me go to other apps. Now I'm just keeping Google Messages to get SMS and in case someone wants to send RCS message, but it's just meh.
