Fuel prices will increase a lot more if the mad tsar succeeds with his delusions.
And even then, rising fuel prices would also quickly become the very least concern for anyone.
Have you bothered to look at the price of oil from *before* the start of #russiaTerroristState invasion of Ukraine and the price after and what it has been since 24 February 2022? No, I guess not. Oil companies used it to price gouge. Look at the oil company profits and CEO bonuses.

Hitting refineries doesn’t affect oil prices. Just the supply of diesel and gas to local and military needs. Very simple economics

Oil storage tanks shouldn't be expensive. Refineries are expensive and need Western components.

US politicians who complain about Ukrainian hits on Russian oil refineries intentionally avoid mentioning Houthi attacks on international shipping.

Russian Refinery capacity is just 2% of global supply, so long as other nations keep up their refineries the supply of refined products won't be significantly effected, it will just result in some other nation getting the value added of the refining process.

OPEC have voluntarily reduced production of oil twice in the last 18 mths. This was done to raise the price of oil in western markets!
North American nations can counterbalance this by opening up their spigots of crude oil and refined energy products, flooding the world oil markets. With newly-refined extraction technologies, some U.S. regions can now operate profitably at $30/BBL. OPEC better play its cards right if it still wants market share.

RIsing fuel prices don't concern me. It's a very small price for the west to pay anyway, compared to the price Ukraine is paying.
If the sanctions were doing their job properly the physical damage to Russian oil production and refining capacity that Ukraine can achieve wouldn't be a significant issue for 'the West' anyhow.
The price of oil has nothing to do with the Ukraine war. Please stop pretending to sacrifice for Ukraine when you would be sacrificing anyway.

@robert Pretty self explainatry really if you know WWII history. Chamberlain thought appeasement of Hitler was the way to go when Germany wanted to annex the Sudetenland which was part of Czechoslovakia. This is historically known to have emboldened Hitler thinking that Britain and the rest of Europe would not react to his invasion of Poland. Many people compare this to allowing Putin to get away with Chechnya, Georgia, Crimea and shenanigans in the Donbas which emboldened his full invasion of Ukraine. Furthermore there is the fear that not providing the Ukrainians with the ability to actuallt defeat Russia will incourage Putin even more in say the Baltics, Moldova, or even beyond.

The only way reduced Russian refining capacity can affect western fuel prices is if we are trading with Russia. Isn't there supposed to be an embargo on that?
We would have to be buying refined products. We aren't. This a scam by the Biden administration to blame the war for unpopular higher gas prices before the election. Refineries gone so crude goes up? Think it through Americans.

Gas prices in my town in Colorado have risen 15 cents a gallon over the last few months. There is war in Europe with a russian Hitler determined to take all of it if he can. I'll start worrying about gas prices when they hit $10 US per gallon. But I will continue to support Ukraine even then. Perhaps people worried about gas prices should buy EV's. My electricity price per kWh hasn't changed in 7 years.
The price of gas has nothing to do with the war in Ukraine. Thanks for the phantom sacrifice for Ukraine but it has no connection.

No I am not concerned about increasing fuel price because of destroyed refineries in Russia. Crude oil price depend on OPEC decisions and not on refineries.

Oil prices in Wichita Falls TX range from $2.95 to $3.15 PG for regular gas. So the strikes in Russia have not (so far) effected our gas prices. I also take note that I personally am able to adjust to higher prices as we are a small town (105,000) and drive very little, plus am not in dire need of funds. Wishing all well in Ukraine and love your updates. G

Refinery goes down … AND all pump stations that are connected with the refinery and all long logistics chains or pipelines. There are more than meets the eye 😊
The pipeline pressure can be kept at an operating pressure by running straight water through. The network has to maintain a minimum pressure & temperature. Water is a medium that can do both those things.
