This looks like a great project, and I can confirm than a DIY poncho can't be beat for rain protection. My wife and I made mine a year ago, unfortunately BEFORE you guys came out with the kit, which would have made things easier. Regardless, your lightweight waterproof materials are perfect for a poncho and mine is still going strong. If I ever make another one, I'll use the kit next time. Nice job on the video.
I DID buy the kit and will sew it up soon. I made one on my own about 10 years ago. I moved and for some reason I thought it was a good idea to give it away before I moved. WRONG! Then I saw RSBTR kit and here I am! I look forward to keeping this one for a long time!

Thanks for your kind words, Drew! Great job making a poncho. It is not an easy build from scratch.

Awesome! Thanks for buying a kit. I hope it goes well.
Funny, I made this project from ripstop fabric or something close to it, in the late 80's! My husband is still using it.
Love it! That's how you know it was made well.
Am i crazy or is the draw string facing just a raw edge inside the hood??
Sounds like you might have something backwards
