    Excuse me Sir Ultra and DCF which one is better? Some people said Ultra was better than DCF, some people said the otherwise. And one of my friend said that backpack made from Ultra fabric was not good in tropical country (Indonesia) because his bag already fell apart from 4 hiking trip. I don't want to lose my investment gear so I need your Help who expert on this fabric. Sorry for my broken English.

    You should do a testing video between common fabrics like cordura 500d, 1000d, 1680d, Ultra 400 800, Xpac Vx42, etc. Just simple abrasion test, for normal people backpack use

    I love your company and the fact that you sell kits. I wish the video showed more about orienting the zippers with how they will eventually end up, to avoid having to rip the seams out and start again. Like, this is the outside, this is the inside, we are gonna sew here and then it’ll be like X when we turn it this way etc so people can avoid my mistakes. I’m not a total newb but have not made many bags nor installed many zippers.

    Hi Ripstop tean, a very nice podcast thank you very much for giving us more details. It would be nice if in future you could show together with Challange Sailcloth how you would tape critical, heavily used seams, e.g. on the shoulder strap of a rucksack or similar, and how to use the seam taping best. What kind of seam allowance you use and what width of ultra tape is best. A kind of guide where you show us users the best way to handle their ultra fabric :) Many thanks, Patrick

    Hey! I just finished listening and really enjoyed this episode! I actually just rearranged my sewing space and I definitely resonate with wanting more table space. Until then the living room floor will have to do. This video is on a completely different level than the packing cubes music video one! I should have watched and done this kit first. It's the editing that's making the difference here! I do think 1/4 seams is hard for beginners who still have ratty back stitches so all these attached parts create a mess... And very slick material.

    • @RipstopbytheRoll
      @RipstopbytheRoll 2 місяці тому

      Practice makes perfect! Binding can be a bit hard, but you'll get a hang of it. Sometimes putting a sheet of tissue paper or news paper behind the fabric helps create some friction for the feed dogs alleviating the slippery problem.
