The sewing is best I'm sure because it's a good solid hold, but I was thinking since I don't have ready access, maybe glue? What about ironing it on to the back just like the front. What do you think? I could do this in my hotel here. I have a gooey dashboard which is common for the 06-08 Lexus IS250. This will solve the problem and look better than the cardboard I have there now. I still need to fix the AC but my 06 is running superbly.
To be honest, I'm not sure how glue would hold up. When I sewed it in that way, it was more for style and extra security. I live in FL and so far the fabric has not detached from the iron on foam so you may be good with just that. Also you could just forgo the foam and lay a thick, heavy piece of fabric on top that won't just slide away the moment you use the ac. Hope that helps!
Cool idea, I didn't know about iron-on foam. I want to make a cover for my brand new car.

@@diyricky6808 Very good, thanks. The cardboard I use now looked pretty bad but it stops the glare.
Very helpful video, Thank you!
