  • Two-time Olympic gold medalists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir trained there. Reigning Olympic silver medalists Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron now take to the ice there every day. All three of the top U.S. dance teams call the school home. The national ice dance champions from Britain, Spain, Japan, and China also train there. All told, 11 of the teams from around the world who skate on that ice daily are competing at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
    Something must be in the water in Montreal.
    Or, more specifically, in the water at the Ice Academy of Montreal.

    So fascinating how quickly it shifted from Canton to Montreal.

    And both Madi & Zach & Madi & Evan took out the top spot in the Beijing 2022 team competition in their respective events! The school would be proud!

      It would have been super cool for the top three teams from the IAM to sweep the podium...that's okay as I'm still proud of them for skating their hearts out and having great results. Congratulations to Gabi and Guillaume, Madi H and Zach, and Madi C and Evan for your awesome Olympic journey!

    They are truly WONDERFUL and at the Olympics they displayed a complete domination, not only by the number of the IAM pairs competing, but making all of the other pairs competing practically either underprepared or simply outdated. #AMAZING

    I've thought this for a couple of years! Even if Canada loses at the Olympics we Win because of our excellent country! Excellent coaching, wonderful fully equipped facilities $$$, good water 💧.

    Grossly misreported. Virtue and Moir only joined after Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron won their second world championship title. Tessa and Scott are FAR from the reason why this school was started. UGH

      lol they also threw a fit about having the same coach as DW for 2014 yet ran over to the same coach as PC for 2018 . . .

    • @scoutz0rs
      @scoutz0rs 2 роки тому +9

      @@musicworm101 That complaint was so odd, considering VM and DW had been with Marina for almost a decade by 2014, and VM won in 2010. If the rivalry was wearing them down, could have gone with Igor. I don’t even want to know what they’d say if P/C won in 2018 lol

      Don't think anyone suggested VM were why the school started. VM had worked on pieces with MF and P at many different times prior to 2016

      It was Patrice Lauzon that planted the seed with V/M after the 2014 Olympics that they can help them.

    How are you?
    It's been a very long time since I stopped by.
    Far from being dampened by COVID-19, the momentum is added. It's already been more than two years...
    I want you have health and good things this week, too.

    Sure, but first and foremost it’s the most effective cartel of influence pedaling with judges from like 20+(?) countries… which is the main factor in this sketchy skating discipline. Silver lining is that they seem to actually make and effort with the production value of some of their teams.

    Okay, next time making a video, do your research, please. The Montreal school became popular after 2015's Worlds Championship when Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, only second year seniors back then, won their first world title. And after their win back-to-back in 2016 was the time for Tessa and Scott to join the school and go back to competition... so really, is it that hard to learn the facts?

    • @marian2040
      @marian2040 2 роки тому +6

      Bit harsh since Tessa and Scott are on the record as working with the school after Sochi and during their show skating period. Eg prior to announcing a come back. The full momentum really gathered speed from 2018 onwards.
