Ghost Bat is amazing, but paired with the refueling capability of the American Stingray it would be a very formidable force multiplier. Let's hope the USAF and RAF buy the Ghost Bat. The US bought one for testing purposes, but the Australians are already building a 2nd generation of the aircraft that is even more capable. The future is now.

BAE Australia developed the AI in Ghost Bat. something you left out. Is Australian tech and is in many USA and UK military equipment. also in Ghost Shark a Australian AI submarine and Stryx a AI vtol helicopter a loyal wingman to Australian military helicopters..
Ihave seen 1 Ghost Bat sitting outside the Wellcamp airstrip hangars where Boeing Australia does the final assembly on these..
MQ28A Ghost Bat block ii was recently announced by Australia minister for defence industry. it is a bigger top secret never seen before version, bigger to carry more weapons. RAAF commander head of the programme smirked when asked if could build bigger drones and said Aussies at Boeing Australia were already designing new bigger drones designs. this was 2 years ago.
Block ii will be in service with RAAF 2025..

Why are so many observers so enwrapped with these toys? The piloted MQ-9 Reaper asset has shown its capabilities and deadly weapon loads. However, in Australia, the Australian Government's recent funding boost to the MQ-28A Ghost Bat aircraft program, as announced at the Australian Defence Force HQ in Canberra, represents a questionable pursuit of high-tech prestige over practicality. The MQ-28A, formerly known as the Loyal Wingman, is celebrated as the first combat aircraft designed and built in Australia in over half a century, aimed at enhancing the Royal Australian Air Force's capabilities as a force multiplier. So what! As a smart politician summed up, "we couldn't build a canoe."
However, this initiative can be seen as extravagant and overlooks the aircraft's notable vulnerabilities, including its susceptibility to attack and limited self-defence capabilities and payload. In light of that, who will maintain them, refuel them, provide data inputs for mission assignment, and oversee their force capability? F-35 jockeys already have a full mission workload. I wonder whether AWCS will fill the needs of the AI drone. Doubtful. So will it be new recruits... the forecasted Australian Foreign Legion who will fill the deep manpower void currently exposed in the ADF.?
Furthermore, the investment is criticised for its substantial cost, especially when more affordable, off-the-shelf alternatives such as the MQ-9 Reaper offer superior armament capacity and effective interoperability. I guarantee that the cost overrun on the Ghost Bat will be enormous for taxpayers before the full implementation.
This decision reflects an unnecessary competition for technological status rather than a judicious assessment of defence needs and cost-effectiveness. Australian defence procurement is broken at all levels. Assessment:- Pass on this proposal. There are better options and better RAAF asset disbursement.

Next war will be robots fighting robots. When robots get pissed off with us making them fight each other they will eventually turn on us.
