It does not go against leave no trace! There was an old fire ring filled with trash and a lot of old ashes. We cleaned that up and remade a fire ring in a much safer spot that is level and no grass. This is an established primitive campsite that had an existing fire ring that we rebuilt.
One thing I feel like I need to say: I have NO idea how you can sit on the ground out there. Tarantulas!!! Nope! I just couldn’t do it. My skin is crawling just thinking about them! 🫤🕷️ How do you do it?!
