    Nice video! I hope you get to film that Glory Hole someday after a good rain! That was a mullein plant..it’s quite medicinal. I once cut my toe and I wrapped a mullein leaf around it. It stopped the bleeding and numbed the pain!

    The elk were brought in from Colorado years ago and have flourished in the area. You will find them grazing most often in early-mid mornings in the Boxley Valley

    High humidity can make it feel colder than it is. It's bone chilling.

    Did you know you can take a little branch of the beech tree, put it in your mouth and chew on the bark, it tastes like beechnut gum? HNY! Thanks for your video!

    Jon, just stumbled on your channel. I remember you from being a guest from time to time in Dome Life. You are definitely a wild man! Especially on a bike! Glad I found you. Stay wild, dude.

    Jonathon, you be careful out there all by yourself. Being alone in the forest can be scary, with falls etc. Happy New Years to you and Erica.

    You just added another hike to my plan to visit Big Bluff Trail/Goat Trail, that Glory Hole Falls might be really neat in the spring. I’m surprised you hadn’t hiked Big Bluff. These hikes are about 5 hours away from me in St. Louis, but will definitely be doing them some day. Happy New Year to you🎉! -Chris🚙⛰️

    Never been to glory hole falls, but been to lots of other places. Those leaves looked like eucalyptus leaves.
    Nice hike 👍🏻👍🏻

    given how large the glory hole is, Im surprised the water hasn’t carved more of a bowl on the ground. what’s the story regarding how the hole was formed? it’s not falling from above on that spot, so it’s kinda odd, no?

    • @johnnywhild
      @johnnywhild  10 місяців тому

      I agree as well, definitely an odd formation. From what I have read it was from an existing crack that eventually gave eroded to what it is now.

      @@johnnywhild sometimes, I wonder … how do they even know. Could be “they” are just making it up as they go along. Strange things like this hole always make me wonder. 😉
