    almost 5 years ago I found this video and part 2 as well. I was in a very dark place in my life, my mom had died a few years ago and I was hopeless and didn't have any desire to do what I had to do at the time which was to graduate from college and make her soul happy
    So I followed his goal-setting videos, wrote down, and followed everything he said and surprisingly I graduated within the time frame I set for myself. I still have that plan on my wall.
    and now as an older version of that girl, I still come back to this video whenever I feel that I'm starting to lose control, hope it works for me this time as well and works for all of you

    I am beginning podcasting on goal setting and achieving because I truly believe that it a vital step in using the law of attraction for our benefit. One point out of many important points that you touch on in this tutorial is that we must have the feeling of purpose in the goals we set for ourselves. I can vouch for this point and how important it is in using the law of attraction and making our goals commit-able. When I began college, one of the emphasis we were learning in orientation is that we must have a personal purpose for achieving our goal of obtaining our degrees. I can tell you that when you set your intention toward your goals with a personal purpose, you will be amazed at the level of success you will experience in achieving that goal.

    Being financially free is a goal for many people. It generally means having enough savings, lnvestments, and cash on hand to afford the lifestyle you want for yourself and your family. Historically there has been no better way to grow your money than through investing. I grew to a 7 figure mark well-diversified portfolio having exposure to different prolific lnvestments

      This is a shocker seeing Genevieve Glen Rogers mentioned here. I always had mixed feelings about hiring an advisor. For the record, I started working with Genevieve in 2019, and she manages about 70% of my lnvestments, while I manage the other 30%. My philosophy is that I care more about my own money than anyone else, but she made me accept that financial advisors have wealth of information on current conditions and future trends

    I like the end of this video particularly because I know it's true out of experience with, strangely, panic attacks earlier in my life. A panic attack starts with a trigger, goes on to cause racing thoughts, body responds with fight or flight, thoughts escalate, then panic gets worse and then it keeps circling through thought/panic/thought. The way to stop a panic attack is to catch it at the trigger, which explained here is the same for the habit!

    A sure recipe for success! Goal needs to be specific. Can't expect to keep the same habits and yet get different results. Can't achieve a goal with hope alone! Need to want your goal and expect to get it, conscious and unconscious beliefs need to aligned, Have a purpose and align all goal setting and achieving areas so there is coherence.

  • @SpiritofSix
    @SpiritofSix 10 років тому +21

    Good stuff, I admire the fact that he tries to help others isolate the reasons why they fail to achieve their goals.
    However, with full honesty, each speaker on this subject understands the general idea of achieving goals--what they don't do is just simplify the core concept for what it is.
    IF a goal is possible, all that matters is the level of your desire in realizing this goal. It doesn't matter how far away or close this goal is, if you don't desire it it may as well be impossible. This concept sounds blunt, but there is more truth to it than we like to believe (as I have found myself avoiding it too through time).
    It is tough to accept the full responsibility for our own inadequacy, and it is something I tried talking about so feel free to bring your opinions so we can both learn and grow. That is all, no more no less

    • @nathanridge9352
      @nathanridge9352 10 років тому +1

      I agree with you, we have to accept our own inadequacy, they are certainly there. At the same time not doubt what actually can be done. My favorite part about this video was it caused me to ask myself some bigger questions as to what I really want my life to represent. What impact my life has to the things and people around me, in and out of my personal life. I love the saying one of my environmental science teachers used to preach. "Think globally, act locally."

      That's why if you watched the part 2, you've seen that the biggest part of achieving any goal is having a BIG why, that's the basis of the pyramid btw ;)

    • @creations9824
      @creations9824 6 років тому

      Identifying, naming, visualizing the WHY is the goal. For example, get out of debt is the WHY? This is how I interpret it. The money then becomes the tool that is required to pay for all your bills. Just wanting money is not enough - it's WHY you want the money. Love.

  • @icujts
    @icujts 12 років тому +1

    A key takeaway for me was the idea of re-training yourself to respond with new routines based on the same (old) triggers. So if you're hungry, re-train yourself to eat an apple instead of reaching for snack chips. When you wake up, re-train yourself to exercise instead of having a heavy breakfast... making this automatic.
    I couldn't find Part 2, but I think I was able to read the last page of the notepad through the "Beliefs" page. It looks like the base of the pyramid is your "Big Why".

    His, and the answer of other proponents of these 'theories' would be something like:
    Choose a goal. This world is terribly complex and there is no way that you are going to know perfectly what it is that your one 'true thing' is. The way to do that approximately, is look at your past experiences and see what you liked. Choose something aligned w. this as your goal. Then take action towards it as hard as you can, until something comes up that makes you re-evaluate, but now you'll be much closer

    I have a question: if I have 5 goals for 2019, I should visualize 5 results (when I already achieve the goals) every day or just focus on one thing at a time until I get it? Thank you so much! 😊

      Hey Mys! I believe that you should focus your attention on ONE goal. What are your goals for 2019?

      If you have 5 goals for the year (I’m going to assume they are separate, independent goals and not 5 steps on one bigger goal which must be done in sequential order), you should figure out a schedule to work on the 5 goals and stick to that schedule. If you work one at a time, you can hit a roadblock on a single goal and you might not make the progress on it you’d like...that roadblock will take up time work on the other four goals. So a road block on one goal causes all subsequent goals to stop. Many times one goal might not be successful but others are much more successful than anticipated. When you work multiple goals two things happen...you get the reward of a successful goal and not so discouraged that one goal hit a road block. Now 5 goals seem like the right amount to me. People with 10 goals, in my opinion, spread themselves too thin and haven’t really decided what’s important to them to achieve in the year.

    I agree. I've spent my entire life working hard at jobs I hated. No matter how much effort I put into them, it never lead to any sort of advancement or success. So, obviously, there is more to it than just "hard work"...

      here a coaching advice to you my friend. make finding a coach a goal. how? here, lessay you wanna make 1 million dollars. you wanna find someone who makes 10m dollars per year. now here is the steps., if john A. made 15m dollar a year, then he is a good candidate. from now on find a job that will make a living. living. okay. and everynight make a video on youtube, i dunno how but john assarad will be my personal mentor. itwill take 1-5 years to invite john. but it will happen. 5 years is equal to 1500 videos. it is impossible that john assaraf wont get the message
      les brown took two years to get norman vincent peale. it is a lil bit crazy. but only those who are a bit crazy gets crazy results.

    Thank you for giving me a positive drive on both the inside and outside of me, and clicking the boxes. Seeing this video has somehow caused a click in my head, its let my surpass something I thought was holding me back. You have shown me a light that leads to a road to success and achievement and thank you is not enough. You are a saviour of a lost person who always thought could do anything but sadly couldn't with the lack of help i received, so God bless you and your team that you are doing a wonderful job. I wish there were more of you to sort out these little clicks in my brain, your video was a very clear and understandable lesson and you have given it free to anyone accessible to internet which makes it even more great. God bless you for ever I like people like you so saying thanks is not enough.

    The plane example is a bad one. I understand all the stuff that goes into getting me from one place to another, but most of it I don't have to worry about or do on my own. All I have to do is buy the ticket, sit on the plane, hope it don't crash, and land. When I need to accomplish a goal of my own, I have to do ALL the steps to get me there. Love the video and the advice, lol, I was just saying it was a bad example for setting a goal and following the steps completely.
