When my oldest son announced that he didn't want to attend church anymore at 15 I thought my world was going to fall apart. Then he proceeded to live a lifestyle that was not in keeping with the gospel and the things he'd been taught and I felt my life fall apart all over again. I watched him go into such dark places and I couldn't do anything for him and every time I would pray about what to do as his mother the spirit would always tell me, "just love him." It was important that he knew where he could go when the bottom fell out for him. And that if he didn't know anything else he would know that I loved him. So that's what I did. Finally at the age of 25, he called on Christmas Eve and asked if he could come home. It was the day I had waited for for 10 years. My husband and I went and picked him up and his belongings as he was living with a girl at the time who was practicing Wiccan. And we brought him home that night and I sat up with him all night long fighting the adversary with him, setting up boundaries, calling upon angels and family members to fast and pray. We were fighting for his very soul but the great part was he was also fighting for his own soul. That night he quit smoking, drinking, and drugs cold turkey. And never looked back. A year and a half later he was married in the temple to a dear sweet girl who is so perfect for him and now we have two grandchildren and one on the way. "Just love him" will always be my Battle cry as I now have a daughter who has been doing the same thing. So, I just love her. The Lord does the rest. I can't wait to see what He does in her life! So grateful!
Thank you for sharing that! It gives hope to many. Just love them and keep your own covenants is so strong, as are the sealing ties. I cling to that hope.
Absolutely love this. I am a converted Jew and I remember the Sukkot every year! I love your analogy of the s’mores, what a great visual. Who wouldn’t want to go over to the Lord’s gathering!
You mentioned something at the beginning that reminded me of something I heard a long time ago: An older couple were going somewhere in their vehicle, the husband driving, when the wife remarked wistfully "When we were first married, we always sat right close together. Now we sit so far apart." The dear husband, with a gentle smile, responded "I haven't moved." Is this nit like what we sometimes do with our Father, & our Brother, & the Holy Ghost? I absolutely love your presentations - your insight, your love of all things from Him, your enthusiasm, and your fun humor.
I feel the need to add to the story of "my thoughts are not your thoughts". We had a son that was like Garrett. He as larger than life and full of potential. He was in a lot of trouble growing up and we prayed for him constantly. My thought were that if I waited upon the Lord, if we just loved him, God would walk him back to the light. God's thoughts were not what my thoughts interpreted. In March he passed away. It shattered our hearts. But this scripture lifts my soul to understand my thought were not God's thoughts. God's plan for his life is bigger than mine. We've had experiences to know our son is living on the other side of the vail and in a way that is more than we could have imagined for him here. My tears fall as I write this. I wanted to see God work like he did with Garrett, in fact, our son's middle name is Garrett. But I know, without doubt, God's plan is so much better and we have to trust, love and believe in His awesome plan.
Our son too struggled in this life. After he passed away, we received many confirmations that Heavenly Father took him home to protect him. We know that was God's plan for our boy. Over the years we've felt our son's presence at important moments for our family. That has also brought us comfort. May God and His plan bless and comfort you and your family.
And not only not understanding who God is and how he loves, invites and accepts, but not understanding we our own belonging. It is not only the typical rebellious soul who may not feel worthy or they beling, but it may be the Bishop's wife or the oldest deacon. Growing in our understanding in God's love and invitation is only half of it. Our own acceptance of His invitation whether it be by a member or His Spirit and showing up for the feast is how we get eyes to see which stake is needed. His love we receive allows us to see the tent is not room enough to love our neighbor as ourselves- as God.
I loved the explanation given by Emily about Isaiah 50:10-11, and I love that scriptures can mean different things to different people. What those verses brought to my mind was an experience that my husband had as a recent convert. He spent the first year of membership filled with the Spirit, and learning and growing in knowledge. However, when the 2nd year began, the Spirit left, though he was still doing the same things, “fearing the Lord and [obeying] the voice of his servant”. He felt such a loss of light! However, he continued to be faithful, trusting in the feelings he had during his first year, trusting in the Lord. At the end of that second year, the Spirit returned. Sometimes, we go through a testing period, and we need to not be prideful and walk in our own “light”. If we continue to be faithful, to trust in the Lord, the Light will come.
I can't even imagine when you both sleep. I have been a fan / student since the beginning and I am SO excited to start the New Testament again. THANK YOU and blessings to you both.
So relieved that you are continuing next year! You guys have really made all the difference in helping me stay close to Jesus. I've been with you since the New Testament and I'm just so incredibly grateful. God bless you for your continued service to all of us on the fringe.
I was listening to the part where Emily was talking about her wedding gown and how special it was to be able to wear it. I recently saw a video of an Orthodox Jewish wedding. Before the ceremony, the bride was seated with her mother and other relatives around, and the bride was receiving blessings and giving blessings to the other wedding guests. The wedding day for her is seen as her Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), where she is redeemed by the bridegroom. You have given me a deeper meaning of the garment and also the law of the fast - thank you!
We moved to the Saint Louis area a couple of years ago and there is a very healthy Jewish population here. I see these little booths go up every year, now I know what they are. I really needed this lesson today, it hit on everything I have been pondering, thank you.
That compassion is true Christlike love right there. Oh I know what it is! It’s charity! I still feel it when the video has ended. I want to hold onto it and make it’s presence known.
So very good today! I love the thought that Jesus has so much love and mercy. More than we could ever imagine. He will open the doors wide for all. I just love that sooooooo much!!
Thank you for posting your video earlier than normal, I appreciate it. Thank you for all the hard work you put into these videos, they are very informative and I have learned a lot.
Great lesson! I'm a fan of your son Garrett, such an amazing story. Such a great example of God working in people's lives and the importance of having the Holy Spirit to receive revelation. Thank you for sharing this story.
I've been with you since your first time through the New Testament. Can't wait to do it again! Also, I made a friend through work who is an Orthodox Jew in Jerusalem and your lessons have given me so many things to ask her about and we've learned so much together as we've shared and it makes me sooooooo excited for the gathering of Israel and how we'll all be together!!!
Your message today is exactly what I haebeen doing thelast 2 months I have been going to church doing my calling but I was forgetting the lord and I forgot to put my issue in his hands and love him. It's been such a great reminder to me to get back on track I need his help so much right now and remembering he hasn't left me I left him.
Love the Love you are always sharing with all of us...looking forward to NT year because of what we are learning from OT that plays such a big part in NT and B of M the folowing year...THANK YOU, THANKYOU, THANK YOU!!!!
Emily’s story about culture and the girl introduced to the Character of Christ really hit me . Sometimes I wonder how when this is Christs gospel and I know that it is . Why do our congregations struggle so much to be loving and united and Joyful what can we do to help our congregations
Love you two!! I started this journey with you last year and the first time I have ever kept a journal consistantly. Thank you, Oh, and the Journals are already on backorder as of yesterday.
I hope there is also “pardoning and mercy” for those in faith communities who are doing their very best to serve and help. Sometimes we all feel judged or get our feeling hurt. It’s not always someone else’s fault. “If your stake is this big you’re doing it wrong”…… so much love for everyone except for those attending church and trying themselves who may be a work in progress as well.
Taught Gospel Doctrine today, and have to say it was an extremely enjoyable lesson. Even had one member say...that was fun! 😂 Thank you both so much for everything you do that helps me be a better teacher.💜
A suggestion for "Driving Tent Stakes". One of the best Scout Masters I worked with would take a bowling pin on every campout. It was amusing but but very affective to drive stakes into the most difficult terrain.
I listen/watch your videos every morning, it sometimes takes me all week to go through the videos. This is the first time reading and studying the Old Testament. Thank you both for bringing it to life for me. ❤❤ I have learned so much! Looking forward to studying the New Testament with you ❤❤ “Just love him/her” Love it!

Listening while working in my neighbors yard. I have been so blessed to be with you since year 1, NT. Very grateful to continue with you. Bless you both. ❤
Love your podcasts. There is a Jewish singer who sings some of my favorite scriptures in Isaiah. You should check him out. His name is Marty Goetz and the song is called: who bath believed our report. Thanks for sharing your time and talents.
I loved this. I literally was finishing up my hair as you mentioned that people listen to this during their "mirror time." 🙋 Super grateful for you two!
My Makeup and Hair time is also when I listen to you, very special to me, I do get a little upset when someone interrupts my time, lol 💕💕💕 I am watching grandchildren almost daily 💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏
I love the idea of shorter study bits 💜 I work on chores while I listen to your videos (while keeping a listening ear open for mischief 😉). Sometimes it takes me all week to get through a video. Thank you for providing this valuable resource!
Well you made me cheat and run to the end for the goodies for New Testament. 😂 Sorry… not sorry! You guys are great I love using these lessons as I teach my Sunday school classes. #lovefromloweralabama💕
I just thought of the shepherds in the field that the angel appeared to when Christ was born, when David and Emily were talking about teaching children about the prophesies. They surely had been taught and knew what the angel was proclaiming.
One thing I wish they could do at desert book is show more pictures of the inside pages. I feel like it really helps me to know if it's something that would work for me if I can see it. I could look at the inside of the books in person but all your products are never in stock because they are popular
Hi this is Felicia Miles bless my Family and my mom and my sister. Thank you 💞☺️ for saving my sister. She got hit by a car. Bless my Family bless us with some money 💵💰. Thank you for your help 😊 bless my son. Amen
For the record I was walking (emily) on my treadmill at the start of my workout (david) when you talked about when people listen. I've got you both covered 👍
If my son became a football player for the University of Utah, the Holy Ghost would have to comfort me and give me some scripture from D&C 121. (I'm a BYU fan.)
Will you be doing the timeline poster for the New Testament? When I am studying and listening to your video it helps me connect better. I am a person ho is visual. It was worth the little extra money to print up, mount and laminate the pieces. I have had so much positive comments when I share with my non member friends.
Please please please is there a chance to purchase a digital version of your NT program? I live in South Africa and can't easily purchase the journal and pack from the US.
I love these lessons. The scriptures they are opening up to my mind is awesome. I am seeing things I have never seen before. Bu I still want to know where the stickers came form that was used in the journal for the summer of heroes. I want those stickers too. Now I know it was emily's mom that used them.
Thank you so much. I absolutely love your videos makes me think and reflect the entire week. Now! Do we need to subscribe again for the New Testament to receive your weekly videos? Thank you so much. Please don't stop teaching us!!
Many of the jews didn't recognize Him when He came the first time because they didn't realize that there were TWO comings that they had prophesies about; and they were looking for the Jesus coming in the last days with power and glory and to destroy the wicked and subdue all enemies under His feet.
What is the difference between the daily section in the app vs the devotional book? I have happily been using the devotional book for the family, but am wondering if the daily is more appropriate.
Is there any way to get the study sheets from New Testament year three years ago? I have a few of them, but I don’t have them all and would like to review the lessons from that year with them. Thanks for letting me know.
I can't find anything about The Feast of Tabernacles that they mentioned. They said it would be on Instagram and in the newsletter but I can't find it on either. Does anyone know where I can it?
Who can help me, an old, fat, single lady? I want to be involved and I want to build the booth and do everything... I don't just want to be invited to someone's booth even though that would be great! But I want to fully appreciate and participate too😭😭😭 will you pray for someone to help me?

Thank you for sharing that! It gives hope to many. Just love them and keep your own covenants is so strong, as are the sealing ties. I cling to that hope.
Thank you for sharing ❤
All four of my children have left the church. It is the biggest trial of my life. But we just keep loving them and hold on to hope in Christ.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Tears are flowing. So tender. That’s really are we can do. Love them.

Oh yes…. I love Isaiah so much ❤
How many problems would we solve if we would just love people? ❤️
I listen a little each day. Then listen to scriptures, then prayer, that works for me. Sometimes prayer happens in the middle💕🤣
I will just Love You both, Thanks so Much ♥️♥️♥️
I just thought of the shepherds in the field that the angel appeared to when Christ was born, when David and Emily were talking about teaching children about the prophesies.

For the record I was walking (emily) on my treadmill at the start of my workout (david) when you talked about when people listen. I've got you both covered 👍
When we get your app is there a one time payment or is it monthly? If so what’s the cost? I hope this is ok to ask.
Can the posters be made digital too? Postage to the UK is so much 😢
If my son became a football player for the University of Utah, the Holy Ghost would have to comfort me and give me some scripture from D&C 121. (I'm a BYU fan.)
This may sound weird, but would you consider making a printable page for the timeline? I need a key.
2:40 Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)
Will you be doing the timeline poster for the New Testament? When I am studying and listening to your video it helps me connect better. I am a person ho is visual. It was worth the little extra money to print up, mount and laminate the pieces. I have had so much positive comments when I share with my non member friends.
I am walking!!!
My mind is not going anywhere when I wash dishes so, why not listen to scriptures? And this Don't Miss This.
Please please please is there a chance to purchase a digital version of your NT program? I live in South Africa and can't easily purchase the journal and pack from the US.
I'm also in South Africa and the exchange rate is killing!
I love these lessons. The scriptures they are opening up to my mind is awesome. I am seeing things I have never seen before. Bu I still want to know where the stickers came form that was used in the journal for the summer of heroes. I want those stickers too. Now I know it was emily's mom that used them.
How do I get the digital tip ins for Old Testament?
Thank you so much. I absolutely love your videos makes me think and reflect the entire week. Now! Do we need to subscribe again for the New Testament to receive your weekly videos? Thank you so much. Please don't stop teaching us!!
WWJD JLT I need a sticker or something that says this. What Would Jesus Do Just Love Them
Many of the jews didn't recognize Him when He came the first time because they didn't realize that there were TWO comings that they had prophesies about; and they were looking for the Jesus coming in the last days with power and glory and to destroy the wicked and subdue all enemies under His feet.
What is the difference between the daily section in the app vs the devotional book? I have happily been using the devotional book for the family, but am wondering if the daily is more appropriate.
Any chance we can get your materials in Spanish? 😊
❤️
It has always amused me that Jesus would have to shave to go to BYU.
Where do I go to preorder 2023 books
Who can help me, an old, fat, single lady? I want to be involved and I want to build the booth and do everything... I don't just want to be invited to someone's booth even though that would be great! But I want to fully appreciate and participate too😭😭😭 will you pray for someone to help me?
Lana, yes I will pray for you…can you ask someone in your ward? What a fun tradition to start, right ?
Where do we go to preorder 2023?
Where can we buy the preorder for 2023?
Will my app renew every year or do I have to update it?
Didn’t get the email associated with this lesson. Anyone else??
Love listening and learning! 🎉❤

What does it look like to love someone who is on a path of self destruction?
Beautiful. Love wo manipulation or for any other reason but to love them. Christlike love is beautiful.
