I think earphones are more comfortable for people wearing glasses as well. With some headphones, the pressure of the pads against my glasses behind my ears is annoying sometimes.
Yeah, finding the right fit with headphones can be hard if you wear glasses, but with earbuds, the fit issue becomes way less of an issue so you can just focus on sound
ive really only found one pair of headphones that work well with my glasses which were the turtle beach elite atlas aero. the ear cups are magnetic and inside you can move a pull tab which pulls the material in a little bit, making a spot for your glasses to rest. sadly mine broke a few days ago but they were definitely a good pick, i believe some of the newer models from turtle beach even have the same tech.
Super helpful, entertaining, AND informative. I appreciate everything you said. I was looking for an opinion from a gamer who had used both Earbuds and headphones (idk if you are) but I was satisfied enough to trust you!
This explains why I always hear sound cues better with IEMs vs headsets... Intimate soundstage makes complete sense. This would also explain why pros use earbuds+noise cancelling headphones, the intimate soundstage helps this much. Now that I have KZ DQ6s, it widened the soundstage over my garbage earbuds, but in a good way, sounds more natural.
i agree, the problem with my old headphones was that my ears would be really red and warm which was annoying, so i switched to a pair of good reviewed IEMs and its been completely fine, i find them to be pretty comfortable as well especially when i wear my glasses
I personally use both for gaming. Currently using Cooler Master MH751 and Philips SHP9500 for headphones then I switch to QKZ VK4 iems or FAAEL Iris 2.0 buds if it gets hot or if I need a break from headphones. Suprisingly, I was able to accurately hear where the gunshots and footsteps are coming from even from IEMs/buds too.
I love both IEMs and Flat-Style Earbuds for gaming. I have an HD58X, but I can't handle Headphones for much time.I have been using my VE Monk Plus when gaming lately, very open sound. My 7Hz Timeless and Moondrop Blessing 2 Dusk are also nice for gaming, just not much stage. I don't really play competitive games much though, been months since I ever played a competitive game. Lately playing "The Legend Of Heros: Trails in the Sky SC" (amazing ost and story), "Minecraft" ("Better Minecraft" modpack), and "People Playground".
TBH I never heard of this misconception, I was just interested in watching a video of yours going a conversation kind of piece. Given how there are gaming earbud headsets (even with the mic at the end of a teeny weeny wire) it never even crossed my mind that people would think they are no good for gaming Edit: forgot to say good vid! Just the right amount of information density
@@w15ard0 hyper x cloud flight s, I play apex and Cod and yes i would say IEMs pick up foot steps and subtle sounds WAY better. they do become slightly distorted with explosions but i dont mind it at all.
Im a bit late to this video but thanks man Ive always preferred in ears for everything and my friends always thought I was crazy but I could hear just fine in game
I’ve bought the 2021 latest gaming earbuds off wish that will rival the upper end headsets. The game mode gives me such deep 3D sound that I know if the footsteps are upstairs or downstairs not only left right front backs. The Ts-x41 or the latest N-35,s that have a green pyramid in the charging case is fire. Anyways their all low latency some as low as 10ms. Yeindboo is another good brand
dude I just purchased a pair of TYGR 300r's and MMX 300's AND THEN went and got a pair of $20 CCA CRA's and FML they are so much better for warzone..... ah well ya get that. Great content solid SUB
Hi friend, I hope you have a good day 👋🏻 Keep up the good work. This video is great. You will definitely succeed. I hope to see you one day except for the big channels 👌🏻👍🏻
I'm new to this whole IEM thing, I want to purchase a great pair of IEM's primarily for gaming audio but would also be a benefit if they sounded decent for music etc. do any of them come with a microphone? Can someone point me in the right direction on what is good in 2022? Also do I need to invest in additional equipment like a DAC or AMP ? Sorry complete newbie to this field here..
KZ CRN is a good place to start. Its like 40 bucks. You don't need a DAC AMP because it doesn't take much to power them. I play siege with DT 1990 but I have actually been using KZ CRN more lately cause of the "intimate" soundstage.
@@Teknickel Just saw your review on those and i will probably buy them. Thanks! Do the wires make your ears sore at all if used for long amounts of time? LIke the part the wraps around the tops of the ear. I've never owned IEMs before and thats something I was curious about.
I am getting the Kz zsn pro X for gaming on pc (Csgo,Valorant, apex) and i am currently using the Grado sr80e open back headphones which sound really great. Do you think the Kz will match the performance in gaming and audio listening?
Oof that's a hard one. Usually for immersion, you'll want much larger soundstage and on iems that's purdy hard to do. I'd look into open back ones, but they're kinda rare and really expensive, and they leak sound out and in(makes them only good for at home use). Definitely been looking around for some good options, and if it helps, my list includes the Audeze iSINE iems and TFZ Tequila 1. Mind you, I've yet to test these. Now among closed back iems, word on the street is that the Moondrop Starfield and Simgot EN700 Pro iems do decently for immersion, but I've also yet to test them in gaming as well.
Yes, but it's kinda weird and doesn't always work well. Nuraphones actually took that very idea and made it into headphones that will play sounds both in and outside the ear canal.
Finally someone who took the time to explain this, spread the word y’all, gotta clear the misconception that “bigger = better” is not always the case
An open back headphone will always have superior soundstage over earbuds. So in this case bigger is better.
I only use openbacks because I need a good representation where my kids are and what they are doing while I’m on my PC
A great reason and one that's more common than you think
We need some recommendations on some IEMS/Earbuds that are comfortable for gaming

Also it can cause bald spots on your head
plus those pads gets stinky
I had medium expectations with this video. Watched a bunch of videos before randomly. This turned out to be fantastic info. Thanks!!!

Really like your review, I got my first pair of IEM and I am sure I will be very happy with them. I got the Truthear X Crinacle Zero
How do you like them so far? I was thinking of getting those ones

what do i have to buy so i dont have to awkwardly plug in my earbuds into the pc
Either a cable extension or a sound card, or even a usb mic with a monitoring port.
Makes a lot of sense! Great video!😊
what would be the best mmcx cable with a mic and remote controls. also mic would have to work on PS4/PS5
