I’d recommend the 7Hz zero iem for £20. They are getting rave reviews in the audiophile community.
+1
currently using one, zero just redefined its price bracket. It's simply that good.
7hz zero with spira dot++ have made me not wanting to spend more money to upgrade anymore, at least on short term.
Yes yes yes
Review coming on these. They’re amazing!!
IEM gang rise up! A couple more things of note, Mics on cheaps iems, like the KZ's are much better on average than phone microphones and wireless earbud mics (Airpods 🤮). Many IEMs which are detachable allow for balanced cable to be used as well as wireless Bluetooth cables for use with phones without jacks
Kz qc sucks. Don't buy kz.
@@jakefarmer Not only QC, but alot of other shit, like customer and company relations, their generic and overused tuning within their lineup, the drama behind them. It's pretty much a good company only as an introduction to IEM's but once people discover other IEM's, many quickly move on due to one of the reasons above
Yee, IEM gang
@@jakefarmer Honestly, alot of the brand's with a similar style of IEM's and they way they are advertised and sold, such as TRN and CCA, have a somewhat controversial spot in the community as an "audiophile" brand, doesn't necessarily mean they only make shit products, but have the same sort of general issue of QC and poor tunings most of the time.
@@jakefarmer kz has better qc than average
Don't get the controversies confused with product qc
Much better than moondrop for example
I just switched to the very entry level Moondrop Quarks & a separate mic and I'm loving it, bought several Corsair headsets just for them to break in a 12-18 months
Quarks introduced me to a new world of audio. To get a neutral style tuning at that price is ridiculous and they are tiny so comfortable I wear them round my ear like an iem for even more stability. Quarks are responsible for me spending a lot of money on other iems lol love kz style tuning for more bass heavy genres quarks for podcasts and a more relaxed listen great for vocals. Many more to try love this hobby ☺️
Quarks slap at the price point
I bought quarks stupidly cheap and they changed how I view audio neutral tubing at that price is insane. I have lots of pairs of iems for different genres and uses now love KZ and blon for more lively genres etc. Such a fun hobby ☺️
I’d rather save up and get a decent all rounder iem than buying many cheap iems
@@NamTran-xc2ip Sorry bun the perfect iem doesn't exist.
@@arammco did I say perfect?
Besides FPS gaming, I would say that IEMs are good for most vr games. The cable is a bit annoying at first but most come with Y-splitters and can be coiled up to reduce snagging.
I have used CCA C12 for about 2.5 years and it's still going strong. Now I pair my C12 with KZ AZ09 to use while cycling and KZ ZEX (or FiiO F3 on some occasions) while indoor.
Currently waiting for my pair of CCA Lyra to come.
I've tried speakers, headphones, and IEMs for gaming, and nothing has been better for me than the Koss KSC75s. They're open back, directional sound for shooters is great, and they sound amazing for music as well. Plus they're so much comfier than standard over ear headphones (imo, some people do not like the fit), I can wear these for a whole day without any ear fatigue, I practically don't notice they're on me. Oh and they're 20 bucks lol
ive been using the KZ zsn pro X for a year now. other than the cable for the right ear having connection issues after some months of usage its been great. honestly i didnt experience a huge difference in terms of sound quality in normal music listening i mean it was better but wasnt alot better. where i saw the most difference compared to my cheap xiaomi bluetooth earbuds was in spatial audio. stuff like LIVE music tracks that have multi directional sounds and obviously gaming! i cant stress how much better and more accurately i was able to hear footsteps in games like CSGO and Apex. that doesnt mean my aim got better lol! but is did improve my experience nonehteless. you can also make the IEMs bluetooth with a different cable. i can also change my cable to fix my connections issues but i havent been able to find it yet.
Been using KZ ZSN Pro for about 3 years, and haven't bored about it at all. Using it for music, simple gaming, watching youtube, movies, etc. Surprised it's still holding strong, aside from I had to change the cable 2 times because oxidation and been using it almost non stop.
been contented with my gear - moondrop b2 dusk, galaxy buds pro, soundpeats air3. all share similar sound signature not too bassy and not shouty. if you ever like moondrop tuning then you will most likely like galaxy buds pro tuning or vice versa.
but still i'd say buds pro are competitive when it comes to technicalities they can almost par when it comes to instrument layering/separation but inferior on imaging/instrument positioning against b2 dusk.
Your video has its own legs man it's got great insight for people wondering if it's worth getting separate devices when the norm is just getting a "gaming" branded sub par overpriced HS/Mic combo so don't sweat an unnecessary comparison. (Ali is my favorite tech UA-camr btw)
Have used openback headphones for gaming and I must say that the imaging is so precise. Cannot switch back to gaming headsets now.
Open backs are different gravy!
I would recommend thieaudio legacy line of iems it covers all the price range. The fitting with these iem are JUST phenomenal
Absolutely! Love mine, have 2 pair, Legacy 5, and Excalibur 👍🏽
Actually 3 pair! Lol forgot about my Legacy 2 haha
@@LorenzoFrausto ikr i would like to add that thieaudio legacy 4 in my opinion is only iem you need sooooo goood

Using it for music, simple gaming, watching youtube, movies, etc. Surprised it's still holding strong, aside from I had to change the cable 2 times because oxidation and been using it almost non stop. And I don't plan to grab a new pair until it broken, and still satisfied with the sound quality with my cheap ear 🤣
Hey those are quiet good iem for beginner's i don't think you will need anything more for casual listening.
@@debsattam1 Yep, and I still using it until now. Added few cans like custom mx500 earbuds for warmer tone, custom shure E2C for vocal. Just adding variety to not get bored
2:21 That's actually a big reason why i switched to using wireless earbuds for PC, instead of headphones.
Id doesn't really help with my balding and it parts my hair in a really dumb looking way. Plus the weight and heat especially in the summer.
I live taking care of my aged old man, my pc and bed are just right beside him, I can only use open-back headphones to be sure I hear him when he calls me... Well I do have a few IEMS I use to listen to music, a couple of moondrops and 7hz I did try them for fps games and they do sound great but I can only use them when I'm sure dad's deep asleep...
IEM's is quite common on Asia. The price range of IEM is from $20 to $300, but the $50 is the sweet spot.
Different IEM brands like KZ, CCA, Moondrop, TFZ, Blon, Tin Hifi and more. Different brands have unique tuning too (ex. Moondrop is popular with balance tuning)
Here in Brazil there is an abnormal headphone called Kuba Disco which costs the price of an IEM and its sound is insane.
I have kz zsn pro x, kz az09 pro Bluetooth adaptor and comply foam tips. The whole thing cost less than $100aud ($70usd, £60) they are perfect for my day at university, USB C charging case.
The perfect setup I was going to comment and something very similar but you beat me to it.
I want to buy a kz az09 bluetooth module, does it sound better than the stock cable and how long does the battery last ?
@@Anonymous_11111 Get the Kz az09 pro sounds as good if not better as the cable, pros uses the APTX bluetooth, battery about 5 hours with case about 20 hours. About £35.
Sorry about 48 hours with the case my mistake.
Glad you covered those who can't wear IEM.
I love the sound of it but it make my ears wax produce like crazy.
I'm looking forward to getting the Koss KSC75 to replace my IEM, as I also don't like how bulky headphone is.
About microphones - USB mics like AT 2020 are nice, but if you are not into professional streaming (recording) 8+ hours a day they are not worth it for average gamer/user. There is a better solution now - wireless lavalier microphones, let me explain why:
- You need a good arm and holder for a microphone, plus space to mount it and it lakes a lot of space. Thats money and comfort sacrificed. This arm will be blocking your field of view, wanna eat something - move it aside and etc. You have to talk pretty close to it so it sounds loud enough and not pick up all the noise around (with no amps and preams, postprocessing and etc) - in most cases that means bad posture, caz you will be glued to mic position when sitting, lets be real noone drags mic arm around with them - move lose volume.
And don't get me started on cleaning mic arm and that pop filter - litterally dust collector.
- With wireless lav mics you just take fully charged mic out of the charging case (like BT headphones) clip it on to your shirt and thats it. Keep transmitter plugged into PC usb at all times. Finished you session - put it back into the charging case. 2.4 gHz Most of them last 6+ hours and you can get 2 of the receiver units in one case, so you will have double the time if you need it. Case takes litterally no space, easy to move, store and clean.
Many models have onboard gain levels, built-in noise canceling, that works great because its designed for outdoors, mute switches.
Most modern half professional ones like Hollyland are already pretty cheap nowadays and have great sound quality and ANC. You can go even lower with something like Ulanzi j12.
Also if you wish you can you it with any camera, phone for vloggin or simply recording a video.
So I really commend looking into those wireless mics with cases. I had a stationary setup and its really not worth it for average user.
Pair that thing with good pair of TWS + BT transmitter with AptX adaptive (no lag for gaming) and you can have minimal fully wireless great sounding setup for any of your needs, that you can pack into a small backpack and carry anywhere.
I’ve gone into IEM’s ..I was a Sen’s 650 fan ..but IEM’s for music are unmatched 😋
Which IEMs have you tried that can compete with your 650s?
@@TheHulksMistress Oh boy..just about anything in my IEM’s stable destroy the 650’s.
Aria
KATO
IKKO OH10’s
Letsure S12
Moondrop Variations
All with SpinFit 100’s or Final Audio E’s as their tips and driven in balanced mode off an IFI Go Blue running Amazon Music HD.
I still go back and , yes the 650 is a good headphone..but in sheer sonics compared to decent IEM’s, it’s a lightweight.
@@carminedesanto6746 awesome. I do actually have a set of Moondrop Starfield but I’m currently selling them, I can’t comfortably wear them knowing one drop, the paint could chip and I’ve wiped $50 off their value lol. Silly I know but I’m trying to save money recently
I currently have some 7hz Salnotes Zero which I’m hugely impressed for by the price. But I know the Aria are relatively cheap and very close to the Starfield, so I think I’ll give those a go
@@TheHulksMistress IEM’s give a greater variety of performances for a fraction of what it would cost with Top Tier headphones.
The Aria and the Zeros are both under $100 and offer something different.
Get good tips and a better cable and you’re set to go .
Enjoy the day and the music 🎼
@@carminedesanto6746 have you tried the hd600 yet? if so, how did it fare?
Note: try pairing it with a truly balanced ifi zen stack and go 4.4, might find something new
I've switched to IEMs too due to hot weather here in Malaysia
KZ has fake driver you should look into.
1. 7HZ Salnotes ZERO 20$
2. Truthear x Crinacle Zero 50$
3. Tin t3 plus 70$
Truthear zero is kinda sucks on soundstage, which what you need for gaming. Kz ESX is cheaper and better.
CCA Lyra is single DD (if its fake it won't make sound) and pretty well reviewed
Salnotes Zero, CCA Lyra, and Tanchjim Zero is another one that is currently one of the great sub $30
Salnotes for smooth, CCA for fun, Tancjhum for neutral bright
I think T3 is 55$ on Amazon.
@@nickpetriashvili2863 From TinHifi that got reccomended is, TinHifi T2+ and T3+
@@nickpetriashvili2863 even better deal wow
There is also mic cable called kinera gramr if u want a mic
Nice video.. I'm enjoying IEMs more than Bluetooth ear buds now!!
my main reason for wanting to switch is headphone hair
I made a switch to IEM and Mic combo recently, it's so much better. The sound is better and people can actually hear me lound and clear. Never again gaming headset! (also gaming chair)
Try the QKZ HBB
I reccomend VE8 iem's with Toxic cables Medusa upgrade cable which can build a gaming pc lol
I've been using a 30$ Blon Bl03 and a Shanling UA1 Pro DAC and it's literally changed the way I listen to music.
How ?
i dont think you need a dac for a blon bl 03 tbh its a waste of money
@@marlon.8051 I got the DAC as a gift from someone. Wasn't planning on buying it. I agree it doesn't make much of a difference normally But it actually does make a difference when listening to high resolution stuff. Which I've started doing quite a lot recently.
@@harshagrawal8109 what do you mean by listening to hi res stuffs a well mastered MP3 360kbps is indistinguishable compared to any high-resolution music available in the market .
@@debsattam1 it varies from person to person. To you it might not, to me, it does. In fact 320kbps to 24 bit 96KHz i.e. 2304 Kbps is a HUGE difference for me personally. You should try listening on a good pair of IEM'S with a good DAC.
I use TWS IN EAR MONITOR 👌❤️
Moondrop Variations are such a good gaming IEM. They feel like cheating.
one thing that I definitely don't agree with is the 50$ iem paired with the 100$ mic dac
It’s more so for the mic
@@theryanthomas if you are interested in content creation then ig it would be justified tho, but even then the ugrade you get by buying a 100$iem I definitely thing that's it will be worth it. Cause you can always buy a 100$ usb mic.
Ahh overkill iem feel so cute.
“Broader soundstage like hd600’s” ok bud
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
CCA Lyra and Salnotes Zero are among the best sub $30 rec right now
if you want a bit more fun sound get Lyra, but if you want smoother sound get Zero
to note neither of these is "neutral" sounding, so aspiring sound engineers should stay away from this.
*Me as a music producer*: No...No I don't think I will.
I mean, they definitely lack the open soundstage that some headphones have, and feel even more cramped compared to monitors, but they're a really good option if someone has either a tight budget or little space in their house, or maybe alot of headphones are too tight for their heads. But seeing as you're a music producer, I assume the first two doesn't apply to you, so I think a pair of headphones and monitors wouldnt be that hard to obtain for you :p
get the humble MDR7506
simple, great for hunting mistakes.
IEM is good for enjoyment but many of them are "colored" and not neutral, not a rec for sound engineers.
@@raineheartily3875 Another great option is the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro's, or maybe the AKG K371, both seem to have a good reputation, especially the sennheisers
audient evo4 just for a KZ 🤌
