Thank you for mentioning the Chu treble… that is essentially a deal breaker for me with Chu, didn’t love it overall… good value, but not for my ears… and ya, 7hz Zero is awesome!!! I really like it, especially for the price…

As a newbie I usually don't get why Audio reviewers doesn't like to EQ which could make the gear sound so much better but here I'm really thankful to you Timmy for showing us how to EQ the 7hz Zero and making it better sounding. Thanks again Timmy ❤️
for reviewers, i completely get not using eq since they need to evaluate the product as it comes out of the box and try to relay that information to their viewers. however, for the everyone else, eq should be an essential tool. but same confusion here, it baffles me as to why using eq is mostly ignored (and sometimes even rejected) in this hobby. i started out like that too, not using eq, and i kept trying to find my "perfect" headphone. after buying a few headphones and earphones, modding them and using different tips, i finally thought "this is stupid" since eq could have fixed it. now i eq everything i own and i'm happier with everything i have since i'm able to get them to sound more to my liking

@@VanDungLe2510 start with the graphic eq's first. a normal 10 or 16 band eq will more than enough to actually be useful. some phone have a built in 10 band in the settings, but the eq apps are cheap if your phone doesn't have one. personally, i use eqfy and poweramp equalizer; i like both of them. for pc, i eq the sound outside the pc (with a minidsp) so i can't really recommend from experience, but there's also plenty if you want to look around. i used to use the one from realtek audio manager, and i see equalizer apo recommended a lot (might be a little too much to start off with though). but simply get a 10 or 16 band eq (5 band is very limiting imo) and start playing around with the sliders. you'll start getting a feel for which band does what. for example, the blon has big, bloated bass, so for that, i lower the bass quite a bit for my prefered listening. so on my eqfy app, it's 32hz/-5, 64hz/-5, 130hz/-3, 270hz/-1 . that gets rid of the amount of bass i don't like. i follow this process for all my other gear: find what i don't like, and eq it to my liking.

I usually buy my IEMs with the mic included since I'm always on the go and TWS are actually a pain to use especially when near any Wi-Fi router and also sound quality isn't as good as wired ones. Anyway, the first issue I experienced with the Chus was because it didn't have a detachable cable, I would get this annoying buzzing sound that would sometimes go away but usually was always there. I found out it was most likely because the wire for the mic was possibly grounded or some sort. In any case, I usually do not mind this as the music pretty much drowns it out but when I listen to ASMR, it is annoying. Second and most likely the one people would be more interested in, especially for those who are in tropical countries, is that the Chus (at least my pair is) are very susceptible to the moisture problem almost every budget Moondrop IEMs have. I cannot believe this even existed after I went through buying these 1MORE QUADRIVER for 60 something from an Amazon subsidiary which retail or their homepage for 170 and those are only loud but they lack a lot of things and are not even worth the 60 that I paid for them , these zeros are much better in my opinion!! Thank You!!
just got the salnotes zero today amazing detail and balance I was thinking maybe the base was a little too low so I tried them with my memory foam tips to see if I could get that extra bass and they got just perfect
I am an audiophile although a money lacking kind of one and the only audio equipment i’ve been able to buy were the Audiotechnica M40x. But during this 11.11 sale I grabbed myself The salnotes zero for just $13 (Out country went through hyper inflation so dollars are kinda expensive right now) Can’t wait to get them in the mail. 🙊
Didn't think I'd end up ordering the Salnotes Zero but I did because of this video. Although I dislike how lacking the BL-03 is in terms of details I like its tuning more than the Salnotes. With the equalizer it feels closer to that fun warmth I get from the 03. Thanks for that! Edit: After extensive A/B testing, even with the eq, I find myself enjoying the warm and fun tuning of the 03 more than the Zero 😅
I wasn't expecting the secret section, it interrupted my listening to the ending song lol. The equalization can be applied to any iem or only for the zero?
Is the zero good with soundstage and footsteps? Im looking for something good for gaming. I think bass is what i want, but footsteps are a must as well as soundstage. What is your oppinion?
As this video was posted, my Salnotes Zero are finally out of customs limbo and are now in transit Timmy, the anticipation is unnerving and this video doesn't exactly help LMAO
Hello and thanks for the video! I'm new to the hobby and I was thinking about buying one of the two "zeros", so this video is really useful for me. I think a would prefer the truthear for the tuning, but from the technical point of view are they the same or one is better than the other?
Owner of both Technicalities wise, I'd like to think the TruZero is the better of the two, but I don't think there much of a difference between the two of them The TruZero has better bass texture compared to the SalZero IMO, but tuning wise, the both of them are relatively different I reach for the TruZero for outdoor use (bass gets cut in an outdoor environment by noise) and I use either or depending on my mood/want out of my music library
7hz zero in the eq rating got a b+ rating, and here I see such a picture that shuoer s12 got b+, does that mean they are plus or minus on the same level?
Just got into the audiophile world . I got the 7hz Zero . Newbie question here : If every earphones equaliser can be adjusted to preferred sound. Why cant we just have flat IEMs and we adjust according to what we like ? Why do manufacturers tune every earphone differently
I guess it's maybe preference, I don't believe the general majority would prefer flatter sound since it isn't really appealing, and bass has been the main selling point for audio devices for many years, glad it's sorta died down now. I however would prefer a flatter sound, being able to hear all the instruments and all the different notes would be great.
Awesome video Timmy! I have a question, would you test Campfire Andromeda? and what do you think about the "holographic" sense that some reviewers point out in Endgame kind of Iems?
I have the Andro 2020 and I personally love them, they are in all sense of the word, my endgame for iems, I don't see myself ever really needing to purchase something that surpases them as they do the key things I look for and very well, the Soundstage is very much "out of your head" and very, very airy with a decent sound to the subbass and the low end, granted I did buy mine secondhand cus it was over 60% less than brand new
I caught your secret section! Thanks for the tip (and comparisons)! Do you have an EQ app rec for Android? And if I like the Koss Porta Pro sound will I like the 7hz Salnotes Zero? Thank you in advance!
Not sure I'm misunderstanding something. But my 7hz Zero sounds bad compared to Fiil 1 pro. It sound super tinny. Everything is super clear, but gratingly shrill. There isn't any fullness, or "thud" when closing a door or something. Not sure what I expected. I guess I thought it would be good
I'm planning to buy this to replace the headphones that I use on my PC. Most of the time, I play PC games and I also listen to music. I'm not gonna do any heavy audio activities. I have several questions since this is the first IEM that I'll be buying and I hope that you can help me out. 1. Can I/Should I just plug it in my motherboard then use my computer normally or do I have to buy other audio stuff to get the most out of it? I'm asking this because I have seen videos talking about DAC, amp, audio interface, etc. but I don't really know what they do and if they are going to benefit me as a casual user. 2. Do I need to download a software or change any settings in my PC that would "enhance" the quality of this IEM. 3. I haven't seen any reviews about the durability of this product. I have owned many earphones before and they all used to work fine until only one side is functioning. I'm not sure if this is also a common issue in IEM. If this IEM runs into this problem, can I simply buy a replacement cable to fix this issue? 4. If I'm gonna use a cable extender to connect it to my PC, will there be some losses in terms of audio quality? Thank you very much for your time and attention. Any suggestions and external links regarding my questions are very much appreciated.
Just a heads up since no reviewer mentions this.. Truthear Zeros can hurt to wear because it has a tall and thick nozzle. I had to return it. Just not a very comfortable design at all.
I have a dozen iems, for me it is the mele. It is a mini Clairvoyance. of course the treble quality is no comparison. Had the diako but returned it since the treble was wide and 3d like. Also had the s12 and returned it. Just got the Kai and will be keeping it. Lately the iems seem to have a wide treble note. Not sure what the hell that is cause it is not realistic to music.
Hey guys on the comments, a question: I have small/sensitive "conchas" (the area outside the canal where the IEM's body sits after inserted), so I can't stand pokey things there. Which one of the Zero's is the most comfortable/smallest? The Chu looks like it's probably the smallest one, but I would like to be able to customize the cable eventually.
My Tin T2's cable is getting very dry and a little bit stiff, do you think it worth get another cable under 15$ or just get the Zero? I already have the Leá's, the T3 plus and the Bl 03, but i really enjoy the tuning of the T2, specially for vocals (they sound so smooth).

@@micalangenburg1706 It's really good. There's a lot of it, and goes deep. It might be a bit much for some, but if you're friend is a bass head, I think he'll love it 😃
@@Ratchet98 Hi Ben! Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion about the Mele! Yeah, I bet my friend would love it, it'll be his first "hifi" gear since he's used with grappy audio stuff.
Thanks for the review. 7hz Zero ordered:)
nice!
Great vid! Maybe you can also do one for bullet style or iems worn straight down! Thank you!
Bro I just got these iems today and they are INCREDIBLE for 25 dollars!!!! If anyone here is a iem professional or at least owns these budget iems let me know if you know any better than these, I don’t mind paying more money and also I want to know if the sennheiser IE200 which retail for 149 are better and by how much and one more thing is if these zeros will sound better with a 100 dollar dac or amplifier. Thank You!!
never listen above 2/3 volume.
I just might get the Ola purely for listening to Adele. Easy on Me is so so good.
just got the salnotes zero today
amazing detail and balance
I was thinking maybe the base was a little too low so I tried them with my memory foam tips to see if I could get that extra bass and they got just perfect
I am an audiophile although a money lacking kind of one and the only audio equipment i’ve been able to buy were the Audiotechnica M40x.
But during this 11.11 sale I grabbed myself The salnotes zero for just $13
(Out country went through hyper inflation so dollars are kinda expensive right now)
Can’t wait to get them in the mail. 🙊
Which site did you use? Been lookin in AliExpress and can't get them for that price.
Do you like them ?
Yeah where did you buy them for 13 bucks I just got mines today and I think I’ll buy a few more pairs for that price.
Comprei o 7hz Zero, pelos elogios já valeu a pena a compra 😳😁
O que achou dele, tem algo que você não gostou?
eae oq achou
To my ear, 7hz Zero bass is rolled off too much, similar to the Hifiman RE400, so I like the KZ CRN Pro better as it has great bass.
Salnotes Zero OG is unbeatable. What's a reasonable cable replacement for that beauty?
most of the reviews on chu and salnote are saying they're just the same, so I'm so surprised on this review, so i know what should i buy
Very good video, what is the difference with the zero 2?
Didn't think I'd end up ordering the Salnotes Zero but I did because of this video. Although I dislike how lacking the BL-03 is in terms of details I like its tuning more than the Salnotes. With the equalizer it feels closer to that fun warmth I get from the 03. Thanks for that!
Edit: After extensive A/B testing, even with the eq, I find myself enjoying the warm and fun tuning of the 03 more than the Zero 😅
You'd like the kbear little q then, its quite warm as well. v-shaped tho.
lol at 7:23
but yeah, i feel you. that was the reason i never got the chu and ordered this instead.
Crinacle zero arrived yesterday, first iem experience and they are awesome, I think its a good starting point to compare other things
Funny how technically this can apply to the 7hz zero now
7:16 I can feel it was hard not to say 3 words instead of two
I wasn't expecting the secret section, it interrupted my listening to the ending song lol. The equalization can be applied to any iem or only for the zero?
Only for 7hz zero
This eq curve will set any iem on fire.
Except for the 7Hz Zero.
Is the zero good with soundstage and footsteps? Im looking for something good for gaming. I think bass is what i want, but footsteps are a must as well as soundstage. What is your oppinion?
fresh reviews newest video
ah, "good" for the price I guess
Now, hopefully we get a review on the Tanchjim Zero and Blon Z200 soon
hopefully soon too!
Saw someone make a post about you reviewing headphones or something.. You've come along way from imagine scent and ceg.. 🔥
Awesome to see a familiar user name here. Hope you're doing well man!
Which, if any, would you recommend for stage performance with vocals and guitar? Neutral sound and isolation (with foam tips) are important
The only reason I didn't end up buying 7hz Zero, is because it don't have mic :( I bought Chu instead, but hey they're the same after all right?
Timmy, for that last part, you have the dB values for the Zero's EQ?
Assuming it's +3dB at 63Hz, +2dB at 125Hz and +3dB at 16KHz?
yes!
@@Gizaudio gotcha, thanks :)
Great video! Im stuck between purchasing the Salnotes Zero and the Dunu Titan S. Is the Titan S worth $60 more than the Salnotes Zero?
IME (limited), no
Idk how much you value a little more details.
I have the titans s and the zero is on the way the titan s is verry good and with the right eartips has enough bass
Titan s ofcourse. Salnotes is trash
Its like asking chu or aria )
As this video was posted, my Salnotes Zero are finally out of customs limbo and are now in transit
Timmy, the anticipation is unnerving and this video doesn't exactly help LMAO
Hello and thanks for the video!
I'm new to the hobby and I was thinking about buying one of the two "zeros", so this video is really useful for me.
I think a would prefer the truthear for the tuning, but from the technical point of view are they the same or one is better than the other?
Owner of both
Technicalities wise, I'd like to think the TruZero is the better of the two, but I don't think there much of a difference between the two of them
The TruZero has better bass texture compared to the SalZero IMO, but tuning wise, the both of them are relatively different
I reach for the TruZero for outdoor use (bass gets cut in an outdoor environment by noise) and I use either or depending on my mood/want out of my music library
@@randomdrifter thank you 😉
Which is better based off sound quality alone between your no 1 and the KZ AS16 pro ...or you like better
really loved the salnotes zero
I had 3 pairs of Chu and they all have severe balance issues.
Which has great detail in 5 in video.
HZSound Heart mirror Zero - older but great for $35, KZ Castor Silver UUUU - Just great middly V-Shape for $15
Yeah , Ola was created for some specific users like me , who absolutely love female vocals . Maybe Kato will be the next budget...
The Mele had a good run but the market is just so competitive right now so it's understandable
The Mele is awesome, but I already have 2 bassy sets in here so I didn't want to add a third one.
@@Gizaudio even with an Olina and a Dioko, I would still grab my Mele from time to time for some mindless EDM bass thumps 🤣
Still no announcement on the ending song?
nope, may next month. the full version is being worked on now
Have you tried the Tanchjim Zero's?
They're pretty cheap and the graph looks amazing for the price.
I have one on the way, will be here maybe next week I hope.
@@Gizaudio Nice.
And great video by the way, it's very useful, the market is pretty confusing these days.
@@0451arthur Where can I see the graph ? Can't find a measurement lol(not like I looked a lot).
try the qkz x hbb it's basically the 7hz zero but with more bass
Thank for your review. I just order the one I believe is a better option for me.
What should I buy KZ Dq6s or 7hz Zero ? I'm more on rock metal listening 🙏
Awesome video Timmy! I have a question, would you test Campfire Andromeda? and what do you think about the "holographic" sense that some reviewers point out in Endgame kind of Iems?
I have the Andro 2020 and I personally love them, they are in all sense of the word, my endgame for iems, I don't see myself ever really needing to purchase something that surpases them as they do the key things I look for and very well, the Soundstage is very much "out of your head" and very, very airy with a decent sound to the subbass and the low end, granted I did buy mine secondhand cus it was over 60% less than brand new
@@cine-ish How much did you pay for it? It was the 2020 or the 2018 version?
What is the best IEM under 20$ for FPS Gaming (Pubg mobile), music (EDM) and for comfort?
Which should I go with? CCA CRA+ or CCA CRA? Managed to pick up the Plus for 15 USD
Go get CRA it's more sparkling than the + version (more tame bass and treble)
I caught your secret section! Thanks for the tip (and comparisons)! Do you have an EQ app rec for Android? And if I like the Koss Porta Pro sound will I like the 7hz Salnotes Zero? Thank you in advance!
I normally don't EQ, but when I do I just use the built in EQ.
Why wasn't the Linsoul TIN T2 mentioned? They are $45 on Amazon.
Any suggestions and external links regarding my questions are very much appreciated.
what would be a worthwhile and significant step up from 7hz zero?
Some IEM above 150$, like moondrop Kato or 7Hz Timeless.
I am new in this: What should I choose
1. Salnotes Zero
2. Tangzu Man'er S.G ?
I already have the Leá's, the T3 plus and the Bl 03, but i really enjoy the tuning of the T2, specially for vocals (they sound so smooth).
just get the zero lol
@@Gizaudio Would it be a real improvement over the Leá's or the T3 plus?
Is it worth buying, coming from BLON 03.
7hz zero vs moondrop aria what is difference? The price gap is big, are they only micro details different?
clarity, speration, and soundstage
Finally bought the Moondrop quarks
