Your delivery skills in front of a camera are fantastic! Great to see a local woman doing well. I used to shoot at Larbert (not well 😅) and always amazed at how good your mum and dad were.

Hi Seonaid, I noticed in Baku the final shootout type situation scoring has changed, as in, no more 16 points to win the gold. Is that a permanent change to the World cup do you know, or was it just for the Baku round? Also did you find that easier than having to do the 16 point shootout for gold/silver? Congratulations on another Gold medal, we were very happy to see you there in the final again on 3P. Best of luck for the next championship 😀☘
So the ISSF has changed leadership again and so a lot of the changed that were made after Tokyo are being reversed. This means that the Gold Medal matches are being phased out although some competitions are still running them depending on whether schedules have been previously published or not. The rules that were run in Baku are still not the rules that have been published but we are hoping that the World Championship will be run to the published rules.
Personally, I was a fan of the medal matches. I thing its bonkers to have 3 different methods of scoring for a sport like ours. Also in terms of 3P having the score reset to zero for the medal match gave an advantage to the better standing shooter and negates the other 2 positions. I agree that they are entertaining to watch but to shoot they were very long and not fun to shoot. Plus I've lost out on at least one gold that I'm aware of if you look at the gun score vs the points system so...

@@minimac400 Thanks for the response from the athletes perspective! I found them a little odd, as the score previous was negated, surely if they are measuring an all rounder in 3P the score shouldn't be negated. This extra gold medal match, also made it very long. I also felt that it wasn't necessarily the best standing shooter that won, but could just be a case of that person was able to hold focus and control and stay the calmest under the long shoot. I think I actually prefer the competition to be settled as in Baku. However I will watch this space, and continue to watch every World champs etc, as always. I would also like to add, that having vigorously watching all the smallbore events that I possibly can, my own scores have improved so much, that I am now in the first team at my club. So I would like to thank you and your sister, for simply watching you both at work, has helped me in my own shooting and practice. I must add not just you and your sister obviously, but you and your own personal story has been an inspiration and help to me for sure! I would also highly recommend to anyone that can go in person and view one of the championships, it is highly recommended. To support the athletes, follow them, learn from them. Its a great trip, and very interesting and you will learn something! Sorry for the long reply 🤣
