Lawyer here. Never, not even jokingly, talk about bribing a judge. It doesn't end well, not so much because of the legal factor, but because it's really expensive. (it depends on how much you are accused of defrauding) Let alone a federal judge, we are talking of at least 500k, and in the end, it doesn't even guarantee that you'll win the case, because no judge will risk their career for you.😅
People need to watch Batman the animated series. Even the madman Joker would rather fight Batman than upset the IRS. "I'm crazy enough to take on Batman but the IRS? No Thank You!" Also the only way police could shut down Al Capone was because he tried to cheat the Tax men.
@@kevinimperati8644 Yeah, even the crazy ones are sane enough not to mess with the IRS. Yeah, it also banking on the hope that the judge is corrupt. If they judge is straight (like most sane judges) they will drag you with new charges of trying to bribe a federal agent.
That the sister immediately let on that they were willing to pay to deal with a Federal judge speaks volumes about their business ethics. It's hard to not think that the only reason they're sucking up to OP now is because they want something from him, namely they want him to save the business because his dad is old and cannot continue working much longer. They want to keep the business in the family and OP is the only one who can do it. If OP wants to take on the task of saving the business then he should demand that his father not just make him CEO but literally sign over ownership of the business to him as well, so that they cannot hold anything over OP's head if he decides to accept the offer to run the business.
Do NOT accept the position your father only now wants to offer. You made a name for yourself without his influence or help. Don’t let that be for nothing.

The thing is, I just don't see what the Dad actually gains from him, other than having a CEO? I feel it's believable enough that he's genuinely apologetic. Otherwise, I don't think a strong manly man type would admit to thinking he had anxiety.
Dad's apology sounds like BS. They can all eff off with their BS apologies. But if the OP want, he can accept the apologies, but still ignore their demands for help.
Typical AI Reddit story: The OP has been wronged and they're all badass at the beginning, standing for themselves and stuff, only to reveal themselves to be nothing but doormats towards the end of the story...
That kind of ruins the story for me too. Especially when most of the people in these stories are too busy being selfish assholes to care about the op's feelings. I don't care what kind of relationship you had with these people in the past. Somethings just shouldn't be forgiven.
The part when the dad says he was mad at op for a couple of months. That’s stupid of him. He denied op the job of CEO and op was right in not speaking to his dad. And the dad was mad at op? Give me a break!
Looks like your dad was right, you are weak. Your family broke trust with you for a petty reason, I would be unable to trust and rely on them ever again. Trust like respect, is earned not given.
S1: Dude needs to grow a spine. It seems like he’s ready to just forgive them because he wants his family back so bad such a weakling mentality to people who betrayed insulted and treated you horribly.
Yeah dude needs to wait until the entire legal situation blows over. This whole thing is the family being screwed financially now and needing your help legally and financially after. This will not have a happy ending.
You do realize that you can still move on with your life and not forgive people right? Idc if this is a fake story, you can still move on and hold resentment towards those who’ve wronged you, especially when it comes to family. Just move on with your life and leave those wastes of space you used to call your family and just live your life.
Cowardly for dad to tell OP’s BIL was taking over at retirement party instead of in person! After party OP should have gone stoic, taken the high ground, and never confronted his dad! He should have just gone NC, there was nothing left to be said!
Bypassing his son was a gift. OP should have lost his phone number and gone no contact with each and every one of them all. The mother is no better. Why do these OP's allow themselves to be manipulated. Look how they keep acting after the OP tells them no. This is why, after situations like this, I am a strong proponent of getting hugh distance, as in several states away. These OP's have to move move move.
OP, it's not that they'll wait for your forgiveness...but rather, they're subtly hinting that YOU'RE the one at fault here. They're just being all goody two-shoes with you so that when you refuse, YOU will be the one feeling awkward, and now they actually have ammo for their narrative of YOU being the jerk. Your dad is no dummy. It's a psyop tactic. I hope you don't fall for it.
Idk how OP's mom thinks he can testify. He's been out of the company for two years and is not witness to his dad's guilt nor innocence. And i wouldn't want the position of ceo at that point either. The dad's position on op being weak minded hasn't changed so it's merely out of desperation that OP's now being asked to take over this dumpster fire that is now the company and attach his name to any liability that may arise. No freaking thanks, I'd stay as far away from that as possible. Edit: wow, they want op to go to his boss and risk not only his job, but getting charged criminally for trying to influence a judge. So far not one reasonable thing has been asked of him.
First story was for sure a blessing. Second story, op needs to wait for all the federal stuff to drop down before even communicating. If my dad told me he was disappointed in me like that and hyped me up to be the ceo prior. Nah that ship has sailed.
Oops! Sounds like the consequences of daddy dearest choice. Do not help them clean up the mess that your brother in law and dad made. Tell your dad that you are too mentally weak to help them clean up their mess and don’t listen to anything they have to say. OMG. Sister wants you to set up a bribe for a federal judge? You have a crazy family
Isnt it funny how when karma strucks them they then feel regret and guilt. I think OP was too forgiving. Sorry doesnt fix the level of betrayal and abandonment his parents did to him. That feeling will always linger. The fact that instead of talking to family, the father selfishly gave it to the BIL, and the rest of the family stupidly acted like sheep instead of knowing both sides. Typical.
I listen to so many of these stories of the awful families. It makes being orphaned seem not really so bad, at least I will never have to deal with this type of family drama. I do not think forgiving is a bad thing, but given them another chance to hurt you seems quite foolish to me.
Take a holiday from your company, be the ceo of your dad's company, sell it, keep the money, and return to your boss who shows loyalty and respect for you during the difficult times. Then tell your father that he's weak to give the company to you after his golden son screwed up.
Does it seem to you like all these stories are just what the op WISHED happened? Lol. "And then they hired my BIL over me but now hes arrested and theyre BEGGING fot my help and and I just told them NO! Hahahahaha!"
The only thing dad did wrong towards the son was leading him on about getting the position. If dad actually did this. OP may have jumped to conclusions and ignored the indicators that his ambition was wishful thinking.
Anybody else feel like father was trying to be manipulative because he needs the son to be a character reference in the investigation? And might need a CEO pretty soon? Seems weird that the mom cut him off and then a few days later his dad comes to apologize and say that he has been second guessing his decision for almost two years, researching anxiety and possibly experiencing anxiety himself? Feels a little too on the nose and the timing is suspect.
20:40 And that then seals things for the father. He gave her the CEO position, the family dotes on her a lot, and OP is once again treated like dirt. The new attention gets into his girlfriend's head, and she cheats, and absolutely any callout from OP is just him being jealous at her getting the position. Worse, the family would ostracize him even more, and then tell him that he should've accepted the offer when he got the chance.
OPs dad may have been wrong technically but OPs whining and proclaimed self doubt over the decision validates his dad to some degree. Like sack up tell fam to f**k off and he should have moved on and possibly started his own company or found a different ceo position to prove dad wrong
Like he said, its not because he wasnt given the CEO position specifically that hurt him. Its the fact that the dad promised him for 7 YEARS, prepared him for it and then last minute said he wouldnt get it over something he cant control and doesnt affect his job. Its that betrayal that hurt him. Hes fine working anywhere and perfectly fine not being the CEO. Is it even wrong for him to want to stay in touch with his family. Clearly he thought his mother was on his side. But he cut off contact from everyone else.
If the father didn't know or have any connection to the OP's BIL fraud issues, then they didn't need his help... unless, of course, the father was an accomplice and deserves jail time. The mother definitely talks out of obligation instead of being genuine. Also, the girlfriend is 50/50 if she was genuine about finding a way to help OP, or its something sinister with OP's family to help them...
What a relatable story... We all know what it's like to not be given the leadership role in our daddy's company. Why do they need to apologise? Because he threw a hissy fit when he didn't get what he wanted. Sounds Entitled. And fake.
BiL is going to prison, full stop. You can't even talk with the judge without getting BiL in a lot more trouble, full stop. Also, even asking you to act as a conduit for a bribe of some sort would end with your father getting a 3-5 year sentence for attempted bribery. Tell your father to keep his hands out of the whole damn thing and stick to preparing his own defense.
You're on meds which means you have taken the steps to correct any issue you may have had. The irresponsible way to go about things would be to not address it, and then the business may be screwed because you didn't get help, and are now CEO.
It would be F them and their apologies.... where was the apology when he screwed his son over for BIL?.. in those 2yrs he wasn't sorry.. he didn't feel he needed to apologize.. he's only apologizing now because he's in trouble.. if BIL was all they thought he was, they would all have no problem going no contact with you.. they only remembered you cause they're in trouble and need help.. they're still being selfish.. asking him to talk to his boss wife to help out his dad was ridiculous.. why would he screw with his job to help out a parent that crapped on him?.
Poor stubit OP. He can't see that father now literally only have him as last resorce to take over whatever was left from his business and to take care of them as they get older because it sure as heck will not be the jobless sister
For two years, OP didn't have contact with his family and get a better life than before, he is willing to lost all of that because "they are my family", these are the same people that turn back on you and try to manipulate you, as for your girlfriend break up with her she never try to understand you, is great she had a great family, but OP didn't, she doesn't care. Also don't be the new CEO, the job that OP have now is better at least those people respect him and know how good he reallu is, his father failed to see that for 7 years
Plot twist: his girlfriend is having a affair with Zack and shes endup being pregnant, his family is telling him to forgive them because thats what a family shoud do, anyway another telltale...
9:44 if they are looking to pay off a judge, they know they can not win in court, and are likely just as guilty of something that will come out. Now in to the rest of the story.
I think the apology of the father is full of crap. If he is such a tough man he could have informed his son prior to the retirement party of his decision. But he didn't like the coward he is.
“I know you don’t want to talk to us, because of how we’ve treated you these past two years. And I now know that you’re right for not wanting that. Which is why we decided to ignore your wishes once again and come apologize to you. Because we finally respect your position on this matter.” Jesus Fuck… their actions are entitled, and even their apologies for their entitled actions are entitled too. OP has consistently had one desire for these past two years: leave me alone. And they do the opposite. I’m pretty sure even ASKING him to “talk to” the federal judge makes them guilty of conspiracy to commit tax fraud. And since their case might be tried in that judge’s court, OP should probably get ahead of this whole mess and report their request to the IRS agents who’re working the case. I mean, OP is wisely not going to talk to the judge, but if that judge ends up presiding over the case, and it comes out that there were talks about influencing him somehow, it might tarnish the judge’s rep and/or result in a mistrial. Like… the three who are actually related to OP don’t even work for the company at this point. At best, dad is a majority stockholder. So unless they personally do anything to participate in the tax fraud, the nature of corporations shield them. Approaching OP to get him to leverage… what’s? He’s a coworker / passing acquaintance with the adult child of a judge? If I were a judge, and my kid came to me saying “Hey dad. There’s this guy at work whose family squeezed him out of the company building, and now the IRS is investigating that business for crimes. I don’t know the guy very well, he’s in the department next to mine and we say HI in the elevators some time. So, do you think you can help him out?” If OP gives the agents a heads up, they can at least go to the judge and let him know about this super vague conflict of interest, so he can recuse himself.
Maybe call dad and tell him that he can deal with this on his own and to stop being weak. Man up dad, time to put your big boy pants on
Lol

That kind of ruins the story for me too. Especially when most of the people in these stories are too busy being selfish assholes to care about the op's feelings. I don't care what kind of relationship you had with these people in the past. Somethings just shouldn't be forgiven.

Yep, totally....
The part when the dad says he was mad at op for a couple of months. That’s stupid of him. He denied op the job of CEO and op was right in not speaking to his dad. And the dad was mad at op? Give me a break!
Yeah being called a disappointment by your father hurts alot. Havnt spoken to my father for the same reason and its been nearly 20 years
Sheesh. You don’t stand in your house screaming at somebody that won’t leave. Leave until they get bored and go home or call the cops.
Cut ties totally and stay away from them. Sister came and asked him to commit a crime.
Bait-and-switch. Always bait-and-switch with these kind of parents.
To forgive does not mean to forget.
"she was the only person from my family who was looking out for me" Well, she wasn't looking out for OP. That's not looking out
Bypassing his son was a gift.
Lol bet the OP father and BIL are having anxiety 😂
OP is a sad pitiful puppy the family are putting the leash back on after leaving him out in the cold rain
Tell the investigators that your father is just like Zack. His words.
12:23 his family is the source oh his anxiety
The nerve of them calling OP selfish lmfao
First story was for sure a blessing. Second story, op needs to wait for all the federal stuff to drop down before even communicating. If my dad told me he was disappointed in me like that and hyped me up to be the ceo prior. Nah that ship has sailed.
Oops! Sounds like the consequences of daddy dearest choice. Do not help them clean up the mess that your brother in law and dad made. Tell your dad that you are too mentally weak to help them clean up their mess and don’t listen to anything they have to say. OMG. Sister wants you to set up a bribe for a federal judge? You have a crazy family
I would’ve told him to toughen up 😂😂😂
Isnt it funny how when karma strucks them they then feel regret and guilt.
Next time don't feel bad, their the ones trying to manipulate you, don't feel bad for them, they are the ones that betrayed you after all.
Dad was right, this person really is weak
Does it seem to you like all these stories are just what the op WISHED happened? Lol.
"And then they hired my BIL over me but now hes arrested and theyre BEGGING fot my help and and I just told them NO! Hahahahaha!"
These are clearly fake stories
You didn't get them into this,, Don't get them out of it!
If this was in the US OPs father violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.
It's too much of a coincidence that a long-time friend suddenly becomes his GF and wants him to help out his family.
Oh yeah. Mentally weak. Anxiety? Weak! Can't blame the dad.
Timing is EVERYTHING only after them needing you......
Careful OP, your family is playing the long game.
THIS DUDE IS WEAK FOR EVEN ENTERTAINING THE CONVERSATIONS WITH THESE PEOPLE. MOVE ON BRO
Rich people family drama sure is different than my family drama.
OP is far too delicate to live in the real world, never should be in charge of anything.
Poor stubit OP. He can't see that father now literally only have him as last resorce to take over whatever was left from his business and to take care of them as they get older because it sure as heck will not be the jobless sister
20:26 his dad wants him to clean the mess😅. I am sure the financial situation of the company is very bad😅
They’d frame him if they could.
9:44 if they are looking to pay off a judge, they know they can not win in court, and are likely just as guilty of something that will come out.
Now in to the rest of the story.
can anybody tell me where the video is taken. that island look very beautiful
I think the apology of the father is full of crap. If he is such a tough man he could have informed his son prior to the retirement party of his decision. But he didn't like the coward he is.
Anxiety isnt a real issue the reason being everyone has it so i dont qualify as a health issue 😂
What's that old boomer saying? Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Writing this story was a disappointment.
Trying to bribe a federal is fonoly and put you in jail.
Woow the dad really bet on the wrong horse there didn't he
“I know you don’t want to talk to us, because of how we’ve treated you these past two years. And I now know that you’re right for not wanting that. Which is why we decided to ignore your wishes once again and come apologize to you. Because we finally respect your position on this matter.”
Jesus Fuck… their actions are entitled, and even their apologies for their entitled actions are entitled too.
