- Watch me scratch build a set of ruins with an arched gate from XPS foam for my Dungeons and Dragons tabletop game! I use foam, craft paint, hot glue, and flocking to make this scatter terrain.

Loving this channel, my dude.
Calm, focused, and informative. Not only are your models first class but your delivery of the tutorials is top shelf as well. Keep up the good work.
Oh wow! Thank you so much! This is a great hobby and I love sharing!
I seriously love your work, especially these small terrain builds. Each one is so cool and on its own can tell a whole scenario. Thats why I love this channel so much.
I like the idea of having the wall go just past the edge of the "base," allowing for a mid of modularity with other pieces on a table.
I felt like I was breaking the rules! I saw a piece of terrain on pinterest that looked like the whole base was rubble. Very inspiring!
Another excellent piece.I like the idea of using flocked embroidery floss for the vines. I have seen plain embroidery floss coiled up to represent ropes too.
I love the fine texture of embroidery floss! I want to try this again and pull a few smaller strands out to create more depth.
Great build, love the finer detail inside the archway
Thank you! I want to take another crack at arch building. I feel I could improve quite a bit there.
Love these builds. The vines are a great idea. It would be great to show us all your builds in a setting as your work has a great theme going on. Keep up the great work, look forward to future projects.
I would need a bigger game table! They are starting to pile up!
First class terrain as usual, very impressive!
Thank you for watching another build!
Always super impressed with your builds.
Thank you so much for catching another video!
Nice work. I really like little pieces like this.
Best regards Chicken
Thank you! I loved your collaboration with Boylei. Happy crafting!
Don't know if I said this before but your wet on wet style works so well. Finally had a project to try it recently
Thank you! I borrowed the technique from Bob Ross! Glad it worked out for you!
Looking good, bro. I used that vine technique years ago, but never added to it with more flock. Great idea! I'm still learning new techniques from you. -Rick, USMC
Thanks! I think I may try untwisting the embroidery floss into multiple strands and see what that looks like.
Love the vines. I do something very similar, but instead of pva glue I use a heavy body acrylic paint to stiffen them up
I liked the color of the thread I used but painting sounds like a good way to go as well!
love the vines!
Thank you! I'm looking forward to experimenting more with the technique.
Awesome-looking piece, though it does make me want to hit those veneer stones with a little overbrush of some white/eggshell color to make it look like they were plastered/limewashed at one point.
Oooo! That's a great idea! I will have to do another build with that detail.
The vine idea is great. I've not seen that before. This is a very cool build. Thank you for sharing your work. What spray lacquer do you use?
Thanks! I use minwax satin polyurethane. It will eat foam so you have to be sure everything is painted.
@@ravenstead Thank you again!
I think I like your original method for vines. Having said that, maybe combine both to add some bulk where needed? Still, I think the arch looks awesome! You are building fantasy terrain, not a scale miniature so who cares if the masonry is not realistic. 😉
I guess an impressionistic approach isn't so bad for game terrain but I love throwing the little details in there as I can. Thanks for the encouragement!
Love your video's. The video about the ruind building has started me in miniature building.
I'll use your video's as inspiration, for my D&D session with my students. In about a few weeks. :D
This is there first time playing D&D.
Do you have a list of products/paints you use?
Good luck with the game! That sounds so exciting!
I use all cheap craft paint. The most expensive item is my Proxxon hot wire cutter but you can achieve similar results with a sharp craft knife. I do coat the finished pieces with Minwax Satin Polyurethane.
👍🔥🤘❤️
Thank you for watching!
Dont be so harsh to Yourself. Its a game terrain not real life diorama
I aspire to greater craft but I do appreciate the encouragement. Diorama artists are so amazing!
