I have an LX100 I and when i saw that Panasonic realesed this new camera i was very excited. I was hoping that the problems of the dust, the audio input and the screen were solved, but seem that panasonic want to protect their video cameras line. Like the other people comments, i'm dissappointed, because if they had updated those things, this would be the perfect camera for content creators
I rarely shoot video, but with the exception of more resolution than the first model, not much else has changed. And most importantly, they should have done some engineering to address the dust in the sensor issue that many had in the original model.
Thanks for the video. Given the price different between the LX100 II and the G7, have you been able to look at the G7 as a close up camera for the b-roll purposes that you liked the LX100 II for?
Some neat features I suppose but no articulating screen? No mike jack? A thousand bucks? DOA lol! Love my $500 G7 with my collection of lenses from my other G's.
Aw man I really wanted to like the lx100 but no mic input was a deal breaker for me. I already own the lx10 and I’m looking to get a primary cam and use lx10 as a B roll cam. But I need that audio input 😓
Lame as, so stupid how most youtubers think 🤔 that people mostly buy these cameras for vlogging. The vast majority of people don't walk around talking into their camera. They buy this to film or photograph things better than their phones. This review is a waste of time for most people.
You can save $400 by buying the first iteration , LX100, versus LX100 II. The only difference is the sensor resolution (12.8 vs 17 MP) and fps (40 vs 11), everything else appears to be the same (physical controls, lens, evf, and screen).
The apeture ring is common in old lens in film days. They tried to recreate this by put apeture ring. And shutter speed. Esposure dials. Anyway. Good video. Sorry im late
Hi never knew you were a nosmallcreator too, I saw you in the stream of Cody and Amber, I am thinking of buying a small and cheap vlogging camerawith a screen and hotshoe to clamp an external mic on , it can be an older model, do you have some tips ??
Oh yeah, I don’t really consider myself in any particular group but I try to participate in as many live-streams as I can 😁 If I were to go for a budget vlogging camera I’d probably get a canon sl2. It has the flip screen, an audio in jack, and really great autofocus 👍
When you watching the video sample part and verifying if youre watching the video at 720p or 144p, and realized that the sample was actually the problem being blurry.
If I really want Leica as my first camera, if I get D Lux 7(rebranded LX100 II) instead Leica CL(real Leica made camera), is it feel like I buy a fake Leica instead of real Leica? I’m have quite a bit of skill on photography already just I don’t own a camera yet
Aweeee no audio jack!!!! Lame. I guess you could put Zoom on top but, it's almost like going backward rather than forwards, as far as production goes. I will admit that as a photography camera though it is pretty attractive. A sensor that big on a camera that small is pretty sick!
this off topic question about this video, but i am planning making youtube videos once again and I don't how to stay consistent is there any advice you can give me and i want start making videos on my iphone, but i actually want to use bridge camera that only shoot 720p and holds more memory which one should i use?
No fully articulating screen, no touchscreen, no mic input....this is a photography purist camera. You can make some very nice images however video is secondary and not a major use for this camera. 16 MP M43 is starting to get long in the tooth as well. Lots of good options with current specs available. Before you spend $1000, you have to give this some real thought. Not for me.
image stabilization, autofocus - ouch. Not good. I have heard rumors that the sensor in this gets alot of trash on it fairly quickly (cant confirm) I think there is better ways to spend the bucks. Canon SL2 blows it away...I dont need 4k - at least for what I do...or just grab a G7 or G85
The best photographs were taken 50 years ago with mechanical cameras, nowadays everybody is complaining about that f***ing articulating screen, i wish i could slap them every time i hear " wow amazing camera but no articulating screen", i gues they are too lazy to bend and take those crappy flower shots
There are certain mics that will send the audio information through the metal connectors in the hot shoe, but not sure if that camera supports that. For example the Sony ECMXST1M stereo microphone with a multi interface shoe. Also 24fps is King!
YOU must be pretty well of to own so many different gears esp. cameras, even if you sell them off after you have reviewed/evaluated them hence suffering a loss. Does the money from youtube cover the loss I suppose not? Anyway, enjoy your gears.
Panasonic LX100 II 1920 x 1080 @ 60p / 28 Mbps, MP4, H.264 Gopro 7 Black 1080p 60fps HEVC ProTune on - 36Mbps (vs 45 in H.264) Video is better on Gopro. No wonder it's a sports camera - lots of movement.
I am back and can now see fantastic better wow great report but why oh why do all these cameras have such a small zoom you know an 18 to 120 would be great but an 18 to 200 awesome that way could shoot my aircraft with these teched out cameras ha ha but still another easy to watch report thanks heaps stay safe
love this camera.. ive always used panasonic,.....but the lx 100 is basically a hoover, the dust it collects on sensor is shocking, ......panasonic basically saying, yep use in dust free enviroments/ or ya photos will have spots/ specks all over them ....haha,.... oh really, so never get it outer the box then,.....cos dust ie pollen etc are in the air, so every time u start up ya camera/ or zoom...it sucks shit onto sensor,........and for over 500 pound to buy, i was expecting better than that....design failure surely
@@TheEverydayDad But clearly not everyone can take criticism. All joking aside, I think that it would be a little more transparent if you didn't claim to "not know what you're doing" to convey a false image for the viewers who really intend on using the cameras you're reviewing to photograph potatoes. Anyways, that's my 2 ¢.
Looks like you didn’t even look at the original LX-100. If you did, you wouldn’t act so surprised at many of the features on this camera, like aspect ratio switch, shutter speed selector, etc. This review is a joke.
Fail by Panasonic. They didnt listen to the consumer on this one. But LX100 #1 sales should continue.

I would personally choose an older APS-C camera like Sony A6300 as I don't care about the marginal size difference. Great video man!
This camera is the best for timelapse. Built in timelapse is so easy and the lens is so sharp.
You can attach your smartphone on the hotshoe? That's not a problem for me.
can it do 1080p in 120fps? need it for slow mo and this is the only point stopping me from loving it
Some neat features I suppose but no articulating screen? No mike jack? A thousand bucks? DOA lol! Love my $500 G7 with my collection of lenses from my other G's.
is the video in low light is good
If u activate eye afc on any Panasonic camera it shouldn't hunt for focus at all. My old fz1000 eye afc is just as fast & good as my rx100v
I wonder if the HDMI output is only for video playback to monitors...
Aw man I really wanted to like the lx100 but no mic input was a deal breaker for me. I already own the lx10 and I’m looking to get a primary cam and use lx10 as a B roll cam. But I need that audio input 😓
Yeah I really wish it had a mic jack, it has a hot shoe mount, youd think those things were related 🤣
Yeah too bad Panasonic doesn't make its own line of hot shower mics like Sony 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
That would be really awesome 🤯🤯

so right about user interphase

500 away from 50K. Congrats in advance.
Bro. Can you test the Feiyu G6 Plus and A1000 with a small mirrorless like G7?

I would use whatever you enjoy using more, the best way to stay consistent is to figure out a way that makes it enjoyable 👍
@@TheEverydayDad thank you especially for speedy response.
Brilliant review
will you be reviewing the Nikon z7 once it comes out?

I know it's awkward but I recently got the LX100II and I have no idea where to press a record video button. Is there anyone can help? Thanks!
It’s the RED DOT 🔴 on the camera - hit to start and hit again to stop. Good luck

Also 24fps is King!
Flippy and mic input, yes, way it is, no. Probably cool maybe for street photography or vacations, etc.
Cool Video Gary
Thanks so much! 👍
making lips look too pinky inside seems a little fixed compared to mk1
Nice but it would be a great camera in the if was in the mid $300 - 400 range
Is it possible to focus manually?
Yes you can.
If any camera should have an articulating screen should be this one. Wtf Panasonic?
50K is soon!!
Here in the next couple of days 😁
Did you already do a Apple Watch four review?

What song is he using at 1:10?
About to throw hands for that shade you threw at 24fps 😠
Perky cheesy expressions for a plastic gadget screams "infomercial"
1:58 like a Cartman :D

The video using lx100 ii in ur room is better than your original set up
Wow that’s awesome but makes me sad for my normal camera 🤣
@@TheEverydayDad i mean i love your video style but the colour and the amount of light from lx100 ii in your room is damn impressive 😁
@@TheEverydayDad plus any m43 system wont have as fast as this zoom lens, planned to buy it regardless of the autofocus in video😂

Nearly 50k :)
I know right 😁👍
That AF in video doesn't look good. It's hunting a lot and it's slow.
49,000 subs!!!!
Camera can't detect face very well. *Wears massive sunglasses and hat. ;)
Compare this to the GX9.
choose one?
Yeah because I shoot home videos on a C200....
