Mushroom Cultivation Automation, DIY From Foraging to Fruiting
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 вер 2021
- Learn how to build an automated mushroom cultivation system as well as cultivate mushrooms, with a Raspberry Pi Zero and my open source software Mycodo. I walk through the process from foraging wild mushrooms, developing a laminar flow hood and environmental control chamber, performing aseptic and culturing techniques, and growing and fruiting mushrooms, with a delicious ending.
There were several amazing time-lapses of mycelia colonizing agar and bird seed, as well as mushrooms fruiting, so stick around until the end!

Software engineer, hardware engineer/assembler, craftsman, botanist, chemist, competent tree climber … it might be easier to determine what you’re not…. Absolutely mesmerizing outcome…stunning!
You forgot "good cook"
Dont forget YT content creator
Being a "Full-Stack" type of perrson is the only way to go :), I have always pondered building little weather stations and, this man, did it
PolyMath
this is the main upside of ADHD
This so far beyond "farm-to-table" ;-) The time, effort and sheer number of disciplines required to do what you have done here is truly amazing. Thanks for sharing it with us!
The great joy of Mycology! It is everything in one hobby!
Seriously. From the discipline and knowledge to handle his samples without contaminating them to the extremely professional controller box to what looks like pretty solid software to the editing of the video. Awesome work.
This video is elegant and the man who made it is absolutely an artist. Because he is an artist, and highly technically skilled....he used his skills to create something incredible. The problem though, is that it makes it harder for people to get started growing their own mushrooms when it appears to technically challenging to do so. You can buy a pre-inocilated mushroom bag and grow them on your kitchen counter by A) cutting a hole in the bag, and B) spritzing it with water for a week or two. Like everything, you can make it simple or complex and you can grow mushrooms really easily on the table you eat on.
Turn right
@@ronlabe5487 Yes mushrooms are as EASY or as HARD as you want to make them. The sheer BEAUTY of Mr Mycodos "MR INCREDIBLE?" video here, is its purest composition of "WTAF did I just watch someone do seemlessly from start to perfected finish?" It's a MASTERPIECE! Although maybe I would not have cooked the finished results in same way but hey, each to their own right? It is GENIUS level video though and one I cannot stop watching. The editing and musical score alone is so catchy and like Mycology, once you are IN, its a world of pleasure and perhaps Manure, depending on what species you plan to allow to dominate your life! ;)
I've never watched a 17-minute video without skipping a single second before, this video is truly a masterpiece in every aspect
Same! It was a completely amazing video
6:00 That is the most beautiful mycelium that I have ever seen in my entire life. so pure

Your material made me feel envy 😅. Man, you are very good at so many things that it just sounds like mission impossible 😑. Amazing stuff, thank you for sharing!
There was so much to like in this video. Not least of which was the old timey version of the Mos Eisley cantina song LOL well done
Amazing. In this one video, you demonstrated mastery in at least 8 categories of skill. I am thoroughly impressed--and a bit jealous because they are all areas I WISH I could learn. Thanks for this. :)

Totally enjoyable video thanks 👍
so cool! Outstanding and enabling. Thanks a lot
Thank you deeply for this video. I thought I was the only one with the 'mushroom/electronics enthusist' Venn-diagram crossover lol!
I just got into mushroom growing about two months ago, and man has it taken over my brain. I am essentially working my way to this set up... Made a magnetic stirrer out of an old computer fan and thought 'that was alright fun,' but started this itch... soooo, I have re-familiarized myself with coding and electronics from high school and bought an Arduino. Coded an extremely accurate temp and humidity gauge first day. Programmed an attiny85 microchip the next day. Today is day three and I see this... that itch has now grown stronger.
This is so amazing!
Needs more views because this is basically everything
Very inspiring! Also really want to try the recipe at the end, looked tasty!
man, this is art.
Great video. Loved the hydroponic automation (being doing hydroponics for 3 years) and I was just looking at mushrooms.
Thanks for another excellent guide.
