The best television show I have come across in a while. Rip Polly. CILLIAN needs a Oscar already. Never have I ever had this level of excitement for a show. Sad it's ending but I hope Tommy has a happy ending ( what ever the he'll that means lol.)

Honestly, that opening scene where Tommy & Polly visit the church has always stuck in my brain just because it shows their characters at their strongest, together. They are both incredible actors, and Helen will be missed massively, but i loved the farewell the show gave her and her character, beautifully done, as always.

@@jeretar No one is better. When an actor fits so well into his character that everyone thinks he can't be replaced, then you reach the highest level possible. No one is better than the other because no one could ever do what they did better than them
There can be an argument made that Breaking Bad or other shows are better than Peaky Blinders but in terms of acting, Peaky Blinders is the greatest acted television show I’ve ever seen. The conversations seem genuine and the lines are immensely realistic and well written. Peaky is personally my favorite show bud we can’t deny that like The Wire or Breaking Bad or other such shows are potentially better. Shoutout to Ragnar, Walter, Tyrion, Alfie, Stringer, and Jessie Pinkman.

I'm 62,and this has been the best series by a mile.Every episode is like a feature film,all be it a shorter version.Legendary.
The fact that Tommy and Cillian are so compartmentalised in my head is unreal, they are the same person but ridiculously different, testament to a phenomenal actor, I’m sure all the other actors in the show express this to some degree but damn, Cillian is the most prominent. Kudos to the whole team behind peaky blinders for making one of my all time favourite shows, bittersweet for this next season, as it will be the last

I mean Cillian Murphy is brilliant. But what you're describing is what every actor has to do... Tommy Shelby is a war vet, a crimelord, a murdering. Obviously Cillian isn't those.
Same way that Ralph Fiennes is not one bit like the character Voldemort in Harry Potter.
Same Way James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano is nothing like Tony in real life, during shooting he wouldn't get out of character. He was one of the greatest to ever do it.

I have just finished the show and oh dear, I feel lost. Come and save me Tommy! What a hell of a show, amazing acting by all of them, great cast, setting, story, details, emotions. Just FANTASTIC! I got mesmerized by Cillian Murphy, his role, the coldness but also the warmth at times, his eyes! Great piece of work. It def sets the bar very high for a next series to follow.

Just wow. You know an actor is truly remarkable in their craft when they are almost unrecognizable in their interviews. He embraced Tommy and brought him to life in a way noone else could have.
When you see an interview and they are this different from the character, well it's rare and it shows how amazing the actor is.

I got hooked on Cillians acting abilities with Batman Begins. Today one of my favorite actors. Such a testament to see such a modest guy play someone so ruthless. No one could be a better Thomas Shelby.
He has some of the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen. He was beautiful in Inception. Lord have mercy. 🤤
As good of a show as Breaking Bad. I feel like Tommy and Walter are two of the best written characters in television history.
I think what makes them both so compelling is the writing, there is never a wasted moment, everything is deliberate. even the slower moments have deep meaning. really impressive.

I have never said this before about an actor but he is the first one who really blows me away. His acting is the most genuine I have ever seen. We are just so used to medicore acting by Hollywood Stars that once we se someone as brilliant as him, we are just so blown away.

The way Cillian spoke of Helen was beautiful and she is clearly loved and missed by everyone. I’m so lucky to live in a time where I can watch a show as magnificent as Peaky Blinders and I don’t know about anyone else, but this show has helped me to hold on for so long, I feel like I finally belong somewhere in this world and that’s with the Peaky family and all the fans.
No one can play Thomas Shelby better than Cillian.. It's like Johnny Depp playing Jack Sparrow.

I remember this show being something only my family watched. Now its a national treasure. Every cast member is a superb actor and the show is so unique and perfectly set for the 20's/30's
I hope that this is the best season yet. His dedication to turning himself fully into Tommy, who is the extreme opposite of Cillian, is remarkable. He's such a versatile actor and a humble person. The way that he speaks so highly of Helen is bitter sweet.

Watched the first episode of new series last night. Wow! How they dealt with Helen McCoy no longer in the series was so delicate and sensitive, I cried, absolutely beautiful. Just like Polly would of wanted it. Thank you Stephen Knight for the way you handled it.

I read where the show’s writer wanted Jason Statham to be Tommy, YIKES. No offense, but that would’ve been awful! Tommy is not about brawn, he’s scary because even though he’s slight, he’s so smart, ruthless and intense. That icy cold stare, it’s like he’s thinking of a million ways to totally wreck you, lol. I’m glad they chose wisely, Cillian IS Tommy, the show wouldn’t have worked without him.

Tommy is such a cold, numb character, it's weird to see Cillian interviews and to see the actor has warmth and feeling to his personality. He is truly a great actor to transform so well.
There is so much pain in Cillian´s voice when he´s speaking about Helen, it breaks my heart. He´ll missing her there I feel as to us all. I like they both in the series because they fabulous complemented each other. Can´t wait 6th series ❤️
