As someone from Birmingham, I love this show because it reminds me of my great grandfather and grandfather who grew up on these streets. The industry, the importance of the canals and the accent. Although its loosely based on the real peaky blinders, it feels so birmingham. We usually just get slated for our accent but it's made it somewhat acceptable to people now.
@@liammcnulty1987 Cillian went to pubs in Small Heath in Birmingham near the Birmingham City ground to try and learn more about the local accent. You might be right but some people mistake the Black Country accent as being Brummie. That accent is a lot thicker than the Brummie accent.

Cillian and Tom AND Helen AND Paul AND...." and you literally name every. single. actor in the show because they are all just phenomenal. That doesn't happen often. What a masterpiece.
Fuck, what great insight Cillian gave for how they shot the scenes with Tommy and Alfie. It totally makes sense they cross shot those in order to maintain the energy and cross play between those iconic characters . You can definitely tell the difference and what a smart choice they made to treat those scenes a little differently and ensure those two could react to each other in the moment
@@mohdramiz3565 usually you record dialoges "over the shoulder" which means you place one camera behind one actors shoulder, recording the other actor talking. then you set up a new scene and record the whole dialog from the other actors point of view. when you cross shoot, you place two cameras (out of frame from each other obviously) and record both parts/reactions of the dialog at the same time. hope this was understandable, if not let me know and i will try to explain better! :)
It's another series where no season falls flat, This first episode of season 6 has been just as amazing and I suspect the rest of the season will be. The problem with most shows is that they don't stop at the right time, that's why you find all these great shows have a great first few seasons before dropping in quality. It's because the story has hit most of its beats already and is generally being dragged out. If a show is written with an ending in mind its generally going to be good throughout because it can be paced like a film with multiple steps. It can set up the climax and ending of the show a lot smoother than a cash cow show that decides one year that this is the last season. Love this show

Cillian Murphy makes me beyond proud to be Irish. He's the epitomy of what we are as people. My respect and support for him knows no bounds
irish accents are pretty cool
What's that? Hard working?
@@grlnexdoorable Partly yes, he's also friendly to those he meets and considerate of others. The comment is 3 months old why did you reply?
@@GR1ML3G because you described him as the epitome of Irish people. Hard working came to mind first. And, although you made this comment 3 months ago I only read it yesterday.
@@grlnexdoorable I thought you were suggesting Irish people weren't hard working
I admired the way Tommy Shelby handled a crisis. And I'm sad the Peaky Blinders series came to an end. R.I.P. Helen McCrory (Polly Gray) 😭
🙏🙏🙏
Loved hearing Nick Cave's "Red Right Hand"
This man is one of the best actors out there, what a performance. He deserves an Emmy!
I mean the accent is definitely downplayed in the series lol. The actual brummie accent is a little thicker
So you're from fookin Birmingham
@@liammcnulty1987 Cillian went to pubs in Small Heath in Birmingham near the Birmingham City ground to try and learn more about the local accent. You might be right but some people mistake the Black Country accent as being Brummie. That accent is a lot thicker than the Brummie accent.
@@garrym3 ah fair enough, pal. I'm from Coventry and only used to the thick accent lol. Appreciate the insight 🙏
One of THE BEST actor interviews I’ve ever watched. Completely enjoyable and what a calm, positive energy. You can tell you really love the show and the character.
Mr. Murphy was superb in the role of Tommy Shelby. It required a controlled masterful performance and he delivered.
Cillian just makes the perfect Tommy. . . It's everything about him. The way he carries himself, the things he says and does and how. Doesn't hurt to be handsome with that great accent either.
He's so uniquely attractive.
the dude is without question handsome as Fuck.
I know, he’s so good looking that it almost hurts.
That face structure... Like a work of art.
and Ali, nice to see you so much this week.
Jawline chiseled for the Gawwds!
@@kenzastyles2980 and those cheekbones! Damn, he’s too gorgeous 😭😍
Wow have never watched Peaky Blinders but since Cillian's recent Oscar performance I am hooked on this actor !!
BRILLIANT AMAZING ..NO WORDS CAN EXPRESS THE TALENTED ENERGY OF THIS MAN..CILLIAN MURPHY. TRUE IRISHMAN ☘☘💚💚
He’s one of the greats, an absolutely amazing actor, every part he has played he totally nailed it, can’t wait to see him as Oppenheimer. From Thomas Shelby to a nerdy physicist, no problems at all!
I'm excited too! Definitely going to watch it in theaters
This show have given me more knowledge than 4 years of college.
Want to learn body language, personal development, business mindset, emotional control, dealing in pressure situations, & calmness.
The greatest shows ever made on tv
I can't imagine anyone playing Thomas Shelby other than him, he is a great actor!
This is a show where you start with two actors, thinking, "Wow BOTH are in this? It must be amazing! Gotta watch!" And then you watch it, you're amazed yes, but then you go, "WOW.... Cillian and Tom AND Helen AND Paul AND...." and you literally name every. single. actor in the show because they are all just phenomenal. That doesn't happen often. What a masterpiece.
Literally I started watching when a 2 minute clip from Cilian and Tom popped up in UA-cam. Great show. I didn't feel this since Breaking Bad.
Best show ever hands down. Tommy Shelby character is genius. Deserves a Grammy. No one else could play this part. Murphy IS Tommy Shelby.
Yeah I would love it if he started singing live
Fuck, what great insight Cillian gave for how they shot the scenes with Tommy and Alfie. It totally makes sense they cross shot those in order to maintain the energy and cross play between those iconic characters . You can definitely tell the difference and what a smart choice they made to treat those scenes a little differently and ensure those two could react to each other in the moment
What is cross shot?
@@mohdramiz3565 usually you record dialoges "over the shoulder" which means you place one camera behind one actors shoulder, recording the other actor talking. then you set up a new scene and record the whole dialog from the other actors point of view.
when you cross shoot, you place two cameras (out of frame from each other obviously) and record both parts/reactions of the dialog at the same time.
hope this was understandable, if not let me know and i will try to explain better! :)
@@HB-LSM I understood it. Thanks
Love this show
Love Cillian, such a gifted actor and yet seems so unspoilt and genuine. I like the way he doesn't seek the spotlight, but lets his work speak for him.
What a powerful energy he has, a deep depth of energy. Definitely one of my favourite all time actors to watch
What this show did for television, and what Cillian did for the show with his performance, has been so wildly overlooked by entirely too many people. I believe he put forth the greatest performance in the history of TV.
What an astonishing, brilliant, cool actor/ man. Bet he is a fantastic father. U slayed Tommy, dude. Here's something I bet u've heard b4....Cillian ur killing it!!!
Couldn't agree more outstanding
Ali is an amazing interviewer. I rarely see Cillian so relaxed/natural in an interview!! I didn't know he gave Bowie a cap. That's amazing. Love the show and can't wait to watch!
This is the most relaxed/engaged I've seen Cillian in an interview - Ali Plumb does it again!!
every time an interview with ali is posted, my day is automatically made
This show filled a setting and role that the mainstream industry hasn’t tarnished. Absolutely great show.
Cillian Murphy is a brilliant actor not just for the Peaky Blinders but for all film's his been in. Class he is.
Man like Ali. Just a goated interviewer istg. Legend. 🐐💯💯
His face is so defined
love the show, it had its highs and lows but one thing has always been constant, the character of tommy shelby, which is one of the best characters ever written/performed in television.
What lows
@@jens2049 season 5
The cast of peaky blinders is absolutely phenomenal. Truly a wonderful performance by everyone.
i didnt know tommy shelby was such a great actor as well, he plays the role of cillian murphy to perfection
He is literally one of the best actors working today. Easily top 5 for me
He's a god, he's a man
He's a ghost, he's a guru
They're whispering his name
Through this disappearing land
But hidden in his coat
Is a red right hand.
Best 🎼
The whole soundtrack.
Ane Burn all my tears
Right, e’s the oldest, you’re the thickest. I’m told the boss is called Tommy and I’m guessing that’s you, cos you’re looking me up and down like a *_FUCKING TART_*
Cillian Murphy's Thomas Shelby is probably my favorite character of any show I've watched in a long time..and yes this includes shows like Vikings, breaking bad and SOA just to name a few
He is one of the world's best actor. Handsome, dashing quiet a personality. I just love this actor and would like to meet him once in my life.
One of the best shows I have ever seen and Cillian made this possible. He is so damn good
What did I do to deserve this I can’t get enough of him
Ali is undoubtedly the best interviewer on here. Prime example is this video, and same goes for the Tarantino video.
Rest in peace Aunt Polly.
i love how he always gives credits to the staff regarding the making of the character (and deservedly so) even if he played such a large part as well
Should’ve won an Emmy for this character.
His appearance and performance was ABSOLUTELY incredible. He portrayed his character in an absolute fantastic way.
Brilliant actor,Oscar for Oppenheimer SHOULD be given to Cillian ‼️‼️
I love hearing about Tommy’s lack of eating! There’s a family story of my father attending dinners in the late 70s with an actor, who was a family friend of his at-the-time girlfriend. My father mentioned how they would never eat if a photographer was around to protect his image, and this feels almost reminiscent of that.
Ooh good one! And the time he did eat on the show he was with his son so he let his guard down. Alright this is canon for me now
James Gandolfini clearly wasnt gonna follow that rule I personally think that Food actually connects to the viewer like wow now I need to eat Steak too
LOL the intro describing tommy: hardworking, ladies love him, intelligence. He practically described cillian 😂
I truly don’t think I’ve ever loved a character/show more... I desperately hope there is more to come
Me too I would love to know where Tommy goes at the end when he’s riding off in his horse does he go home or does he continue with the family tragedy of suicide?
He has such striking features..he really could be a model
Paul Anderson, Tom Hardy and Sam Neil were 3 savage actors in this program. Amazing
Cilian is soo beautiful 😍😍😍
The best Tommy Shelby you could ask for, that character is his and only his.
4:45 makes my heart break and warm at the same time RIP Helen angel
Man, he has made me want to watch all his work. Most understand actor out there I feel
That's the beauty of Netflix...one can devour years worth of seasons in a matter of days...I can't say enough about how much I loved this story.
He is so humble and underrated and a brilliant actor. I couldnt fathom any other actor that can play Tommy Shelby the way Cillian did. This show is a treasure.
i love how tommy never eats but he always drinks whiskey
Not anymore
We're gonna miss this show like forever
Apart from Tommy Shelby, it is so honorable to watch the characters of Alfie Solomons and Luca Changrueta. They are the most amazing villains I've ever witnessed in my life. They are spectacle.
oswald mosley too like he was probably the smartest villain
@@artjacobbermejo5780 yes hes great but he barley had any real effect, johns actor left the show, originally john wasn't gonna die meaning luca kills noone,
The entire cast, from primary to secondary characters and beyond, were top rate fantastic. Everyone knew the assignment. One of the best shows of all time.
Two of the greatest and criminally underrated actors. Cillian and Tom Hardy. Screw the awards shows. We all know who the greats are
