YUM! My mouth was watering at that food market! And, I love how all the fruits and veggies are stocked up in perfect rows. The soups in the large kettles looked delicious. And so did the pastries at that bakery! Lovely town with its colorful buildings, some with murals. The people seemed really friendly. You got me sold on visiting here!
Another great video guys. Beer O'clock at one o'clock....that's early...lol. Brian is rocking another new hat. You guys are going to need checked luggage soon just for his hats....!
These small non-touristy places in Mexico may not be where you want to spend two weeks in, but they really do give you a taste of authentic Mexico. Over the years I have traveled throughout this country, my spouse and I recently spent April and May in colonial cities most people don’t visit. But we have never visited this place. We just have to go to that pastry place! There is always a reason to go back to Mexico. Thanks for this video.
You guys have been doing a great job capturing your travels over the years, but your Mexico vlogs have been stellar! Mexico is such a gem. I remember my first trip, back in the late 1950s before I was even school age. The grandparents would load up the car and drive there for a little get away. Vibrant colors, wonderful smells, great food, and friendly people. It's great that I have never lived far from Mexico and also live where Mexican culture is so strong. I need to get back to traveling there more as an adult. I've basically spent five decades traveling solo around the world, but sometimes one forgets that there are great treasures right under one's nose. Mexico is a huge country with a lot of diversity. Greetings from Los Angeles
In San Andres you were at "La 14" a street behind the Universidad de las Américas, my college. Funny story, a lot of American students used to study there and that's why Cholula started to have A LOT of Americans. I'm so glad you did this video! You got the Cholula experience :D
Nice video of a non-touristy Mexican pueblo & one of the oldest 4000 yo populated cities mentioned by one of your viewers. Great job showcasing it & the pyramid. Btw, I finally made it Alicante, B&C! Been here almost 2 weeks and would love to retire here. Taking baby steps. Didn't give up my CA studio yet. You're right. I find Spain has gone up in prices a lot since 5 years ago. 5 euros to wash a load of clothes at the laundromat. But the quality of life here, cleanliness, safety, and beaches are phenomenol. Traveling long term is still just living in another part of the world like you said. As a solo senior traveler you still get a bit lonely at night & without having a buddy to share your journey. But what a miracle that I am in Spain when over a year ago I was in the hospital fighting for my life with cancer. You guys inspired me. Keep up sharing your adventures & costs. I hope to check out Mexico & compare to Costa Blanca in Spain to see what is more feasible to retire or stay put where I am in US & do a part-time. Those long distances & flight costs away from family is a big factor but you only live once & your quality and affordability must be a priority when you are 65. Thanks again. La Vida es Hoy!! Live life today! Salud!🎉🍻
We are so happy that you are living life to the fullest!! Your story is inspiring to us and sure that others find it inspiring too! Thank you for all the comments and for supporting our channel. ❤️
San Andres Cholula is a wonderful place - enjoyed our visit in 2018 and went to all the places you saw in the video. They had a tourist train that ran from Puebla to there at that time which, sadly, ceased operating during the pandemic. Appreciated you highlighting it in this video.
Cholula is very touristy, however Brian and Carrie did a wonderful job showing the not-so touristy places :). Cholula's pyramid has the biggest base structure in the world.
I do love the pastry-cam at the 5:00 mark. This is a strong suit for you two, showing off a new place as you travel around as well as identifying the prices. Looks like a very walkable and quaint town. I have been to Mexico but mostly beach resorts and feel that more time is likely a good idea. Certainly the prices seem very reasonable and your weather ideal as we get into Fall in southern Ontario. Stay well. Cheers!
Brian, I’ve seen the hat you are wearing everywhere. I think they are made of Palma, can be folded and can get wet. I am thinking about buying some for myself and family. How is it holding up? Cheers guys. Great video 👍🏼
I have the cheap version what you are describing. Mine is not foldable and won't make the trek back to the US. 😁 The authentic Panama hats would be a good purchase!
The Remedios church was almost completely destroyed during 2017 earthquake, same as 2000 other historic monuments. The INBA institute has made a great job rebuilding them as nearly new.
@@BrianandCarrie you are a cute couple about me and my wife’s age. We are headed to Huatulco next spring. If we like it we are going down to Oaxaca for 6 mo in the fall !
Years and years ago when you were still allowed to climb the huge pyramids outside of Mexico City (Teotihuacan), I was in my young twenties traveling with my Mom at the time. I climbed all the way to the top and when I came down from the top she was speaking with another American lady and I had a Tecate Beer in my hand.........There was a man who I guess climb to the top everyday with a cooler of beers to sell. You should have seen the look on their faces!! LOL
Great video and editing! Just a little fact about Cholula which happens to be the Oldest continuously inhabited city in the America's for over 4000 years✌🤓
my hometown, Puebla is a world of flavors, the best food of Mexico, greetings from Santa Barbara California amigos enjoy the food
Thank you! We love Puebla too!
No entraron a la pirámide, es muy interesante recorrerla por dentro en sus múltiples pasillos.

that market is one of the cleanest you can visit in Puebla :)
You captured my grandmother's puesto at the market :O! So many memories! Nice video :D

Been in Puebla downtown and also Angelopolis but never in Cholula, hoping to visit soon. Greedings from Puerto Vallarta.

Nice! Cholula is fantastic. I hope you checked out Atlixco too.
Unfortunately, we did not. 😔 We have moved on to Mexico City! Thank you for watching, Anthony!
@@BrianandCarrie there’s always next time!
Enjoy Mexico City! Get some good pozole while you’re there.
Loving your video. Makes me want to venture into other Mexican areas besides Cabo, lol!
Now… does it top the places in Europe or Asia you’ve been?
It compares very much like the other places that we have been. We are planning on coming back to see some of the beach towns soon.
Nice job on the video! 👏
Thank you!! 😊

Brian and Carrie, how's the Guacamole? Chips? Both my favorite. Brian, is that a Cuban hat? Looking good. I wear a Panama Hat here in Porto. JP Porto
The avocados are great but we haven't found any guacamole without grasshoppers yet!! 🤣🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Watch for flies too.....when you come back to Porto give us a holler. JP Porto
Absolutely!
@@BrianandCarrie I tried the grasshoppers (chapulines) with guacamole when I was in Oaxaca. I have to say it wasn't bad!

Thats a great story!! What a great feeling it must have been to be greeted with a beer at the top!!
Cholula makes the best hot sauce!
I love Cholula hot sauce! Unfortunately, it's not made in Cholula. 😁
