I love watching your videos in a land I would love to visit, but I cannot partake of any of your delicious meals!! My very strict diet does not allow allow it! The penetance of age!!! Been camping since I was a kid, and took all of our kids on camping holidays, but they are too well paid now to enjoy such a simple lifestyle. One of my sons does enjoy camping, but with electric, fridges, kettles, heaters, etc etc. Not my idea of a holiday!! Used to be a frame tent with separate bedrooms and a "Pee" bucket. Last camped a number of years ago when I took off on my motorcycle, but too old now, Hope eveything goes ok with the new arrival. Good luck to you both Best wishes Lynton

Question... why are the wicker birds 🐦 not scared of you or human interaction when they are wild and your in the middle of nowhere so they don't see people all the time. But yet there not bothered by you being there haha 😆
New Zealand birds seem to not be to afraid of humans or anything. There were no predators in nz until recently when they were introduced by Europeans I believe this could be why
Is it the rainy season in NZ? Great video on hardcore rain campin. Like the fact you don't skimp on the chow. It's amazing how the tent technology has changed over the years. We had a gully runnin down the middle of our tent during such down pours. But I do miss Victoria. She adds a whole nother nice dimension to the video. Keep up the great work. Can u send some of that rain to central Florida we could surprisingly use it.

One idea you could try putting a tent up in strong wind i tried once when camping at the anatori out past collinwood what a cock up that was the tent blew away haha

Nice one bro! Made those beers sound delicious too. You placed your tent in pretty much exact spot I put mine, and I slept head up in the narrow end too, which works well solo eh.
It’s a good spot pretty cool with the big rocks. The trees make me nervous though don’t think the kunai can withstand a falling tree lol. There are so many good spot around this area I’m going to find more. The vestibule is pretty small not sure it would be much fun trying to have Victoria and my pack there and get in and out.
@@AbelandVictoria yes I decided that spot because it has gap in tree cover. We had rainy night camped in horrible black fungus forest by the tarns above sabine hut toward speargrass.... 3am was loud smashing noises, sounded like a full size tree fell, 50-100m away.
@@AbelandVictoria minimalist mtn tent entrance, can cope with two if one person moves away a bit to make room. Yeah it's cool area to explore... Likely some interesting areas if branch off the main tourist track just up the road too.
One thing I do not miss about NZ is the weather! Love the bush the mountains and the Lakes and coast, but the climate...yeah nah! Thanks for the vid, ...did you get heart burn after all that food?

It’s surprisingly spacious inside considering it’s small footprint. Feels cozy I like it. Heaps of internal pockets and lots of zippers to open up fabric inner. Guy lines wrapping around poles will make it really strong also. Great tent so far will be fun to use it up on the snow. I have never had any contact form nemo so wouldn’t know. They make great products though I might the nemo osmo dagger to replace my sea to summit telos I’m done with that tent

@@AbelandVictoria Cheers for that. I'm miserly with the recording , always worried about filling up too many hard drives at home haha. I've never really looked into lighting but recall hearing good things about the Luma Cube.
