"Choose Your Own Friends" was wrote back some time in 2019 as part of my "Life's Contradictions" series of songs recorded October 21, 2021.
In this version I've made some changes trying to adapt a bit of a verse chorus structure.
The song is meant to be satirical employing both sardonic and sarcastic humor.
I hesitate to give any kind of credit to an individual that was litterally stalking me claiming I cannot choose my own friends I have to let my friends choose me, going out of her way to be the 1st and last person I talked to every day, randomly showing up at places she knew I would be then trying to gaslight me and others by trying to put me down then trying to build me back up by trying to appeal to my heart by cooking these elaborate meals to feed me knowing I was exhausted and hungry after running around all day appologizing to people that then said I had done nothing wrong but this woman kept calling insisting that they make me come in to appologize for being rude or whatever...what a nightmare. The games people play...and I'm not trying to give a blue print for others ...this is what not to do...all said and done her tactics back fired as any one and everyone knows you Choose Your Own Friends not the other way around.
