Oh how we miss dear Emily! R.I.P. ❤
I was blessed to get to see Emily in a tiny club under the Redondo Beach pier in the early 80s, just before she passed.
She would have been so thrilled and honored to see such a talented young woman carrying on her legacy a half century later.
❤️
I'm 23, grew up in Redondo Beach til a few years ago. The stories I hear about the jazz history of the area, about Miles and Bill Evans and the like, make me envious of that time!
@@JesseBlueEads The old Lighthouse in Hermosa was legendary.
Hey, I remember that club under the Redondo Beach pier. Cal Tjader was the house band there back in the late '70s. I saw him at least 5 times in that room. Wow! Concerts by the Sea was the club, and guys like Poncho Sanchez would sit in...what a blast!
@@schwartzenheimer1 thanks! I couldn’t remember the name of the club
Another really sad story about a very talented guitarist who died much too young. I hope she is jamming with her greats now ❤
@@JohnDoesItAll mapbyblues5919 is referring to Emily Remler, also mentioned in the video title.
I love it when a young girl plays the music of an old guy like Wes Montgomery so perfectly
Wes Montgomery wasn't old when he played this. In fact, he died at only 45 years old. Just saying.
This isn’t the original.
Excellent performance! Exam situations can be nerve racking, but you look so collected, always in control. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you :)
You can seriously learn how to play
Guitar with any tune she plays.
Her playing is exquisitely visual and precise. That guitar is a beautiful
instrument, the tune is too and she is too. Thank you. These tunes are my
Roots of playing for the last 50 years.
You can play anything after learning
Jazz and Blues standards.
I could listen to her all day.. I read in her bio that she's only been playing for 8 years. It makes an old man like me want to sell all my guitars. Great to see and hear a young talent appreciate Wes Montgomery... only of my favorite guitarists.
I meant to say "Wes Montgomery... ONE of my favorite guitarists." Question: Do you have a CD of your work? I'm an old guy... I still use CD's and vinyl records.
I know what you mean, I've been struggling for decades to try to learn. However I used to have to rewind a cassette or move the needle back on an album to practice sections back in the day. No excuse but I'm sure the internet would have made things a bit easier. That's my excuse anyway! Also some folk certainly are far more talented too or pick up things more quickly. I still enjoy being rubbish!
Making an instrument talk, shout, whisper is real talent. She’s got it. ❤
This demands a thumbs up.
Lol, the 'Thumb" She's good.
Wow. Technique and mastery of the fret board is there. Smoothness will come with playing every day. You will have a wonderful life. Bravo young lady. Bravo.
Thank you :)
Wow, she takes such a great tone out of that guitar!
What talent. Thank you for sharing it with the frustrated guitarist of the world. Seriously though it’s a pleasure seeing such young talent and keeping the love of guitar alive.
Thank you :)
Check out Tory Slusher.
When talent, dedication and a love of music all come together as one.
Beautiful.
Thank you :)

I've listened to (and watched) closely this video two times, and I want to weep. Her phrasing is elegant, the composition sublime and the entire experience overall is an emotional ecstasy. It amazes me, still, that such beauty is possible. This is confirmation--it does! Wes Montgomery wasn't a musician. He was a miracle.

Emily Remler fan. Nothing better than covering Emily covering Wes :) Beautiful. Now I’m a Dominyky fan!!
Wonderful playing, great technique! I especially like the strap tied behind the nut. It adds a cool vibe. Subscribed!
Thank you:)
That was flawless, you never slipped or choked, and were confident all the way. I had the pleasure of meeting Emily, who came to a music store I was working in- mid 1980's. She was with legendary Larry Coryell at the time- they were playing a cruise ship gig and were in port, stopping in to look for obscure jazz recordings- which we had plenty of. Both of them are missed. From the way you played this, I'd bet they'd make a trio of their duo and welcome you to sit in, were they still with us.
Remarkable!. When she has an album, I'm first in line.
Wow, I'm surprised! Good covers of this piece are are. Very clean and clear playing. Excellent technique. Glad to see that Emily is still alive among young players. Keep it up.
Thank you :)
Great way to rest my mind. Thanks so much Dominyka. Great time to take a break. A fantastic performance looking beautiful as always.
Thank you :)
@@dominykamauliute you're so very welcome, you remind me of a angel 😇. With musical gifts. I request that you speak. I wounder what you sound like.
I saw Emily Remler a few times. She was a relaxed player who would throw her head back, look up and play with abandon.
You have a beautiful tone and relaxed feel. You're doing great! Don't be afraid to play with abandon, she would have.
Great playing. Having tried jazz, I know how complex and demanding this style of playing is. WELL DONE! It’s good to see young players keeping this music alive in a new century.
Thank you :)
The sound is so good and you made it look easy. Well done.
Thank you :)
Well, I would not have mentioned it and I do write this only because your comment is not true:
you can see by the movements of her mouth how very much she is concentrating herself and I really relaxed musician would shoot the audience a smile from time to time.
Nothing against you, Dominyka, but I loathe stupid flattering.

"Dude" yourself, bloke
She is fantastic, paying tribute to Emily paying tribute to Wes.
Emily passes away quite a while ago. I saw her when she visited Cornel College in Mt Vernon way back in ‘82. She was fantastic. She was really fast, accurate and very tasteful in her playing. I actually got into a short discussion with her about how long it takes to create and record music. I was the know it all, know nothing young freshman and she had more wisdom than to take what I said seriously. Her talents simply blew me away as I also had a little taste of jazz guitar.
Why do we keep letting these gifted, wonderful people become victims of their own.
Wes Montgomery had the sexiest style and sound on guitar. She captured it perfectly with her own guitar voice as well. It’s all in the thumb. He strummed those octaves, she got it right.
One of the best solos Ive ever heard. Bravo!!!
Thank you :)
Wes and Emily are out there somewhere smiling. Warm greetings from Helsinki! 🙂
I don't think I've heard anything better in blues. It is the essence of harmonic charm and captivating rhythm. I really wanted to play along on drums and support the wonderful solo part on rhythm guitar. Thank you for the bright impressions and experiences, success and creativity!❤❤🎉
Thank you :)
Great tone, great feel, great clarity, lots of punch and, sometimes there just aren't enough 'i's in a word to describe what's going on... this absolutely Swiiiiings!!!!! Niiiiiice!!!
Thank you :)
So cleanly played, perfection. I'm so jealous. Cheers
Absolutely incredible playing! The mastery of the fingerboard and the total vocabulary of chords you have is astonishing. Every time I see your videos in my feed I listen to the entire song. Amazing!
Thank you :)
You possess the talent and attitude to become an exceptional guitarist.

Thank you :)
I ran into Emily when I worked in sales at a music store in Burlington VT (Boyd’s Music). At that time I did not know who she was, but as a jazz musician myself, I was blown away with her chord melody playing in the shop.
Amazing! Full of emotion yet you look at ease. Love your right hand work. Inspirational. Thank you so much👏🎶
Thank you :)
Absolutely fantastic cover! Your playing captures the essence of Wes Montgomery's style while adding your unique touch. Emily Remler would be proud of your interpretation of the Bb blues. Keep up the great work - you're an inspiration to all of us guitar players!

Cool! What a finish.
