Hmm...I had to think about this one for a minute.....I learned chords, then tabs, then finally chord progressions...so a bit backward. I cannot fathom learning Tabs without knowing chords....even though figurinig out Tabulature helped me to understand the concept of Chords. Watch my "Guitar Lesson Video on Chord Shapes and let me know if it makes sense to you. I improvised "I Hate Myself" as I could not find chords or tabs for the song.....So I guessed at it being a I -IV - V then played in the key of E thus E - A - B7...if it were key of A...it would be A - D -E or key of C would be C-F-G...get it..thats 1- 4 -5 progression in 3 different keys....no tabs for strumming so far as I know...but fingerstyle tab....well....thats where you got me lost...how can you Tab it out if you don't know what chord it is? I can only guess you are "huntng and picknig" like on a type writter....creating you own chords shapes? Anyway....my guitar lesson video is pretty rudimenary....there are lots of better tutorials....but maybe my video will make sense to you....the whole point of my project is to teach and learn along with and from others.. Nope, I've never been in a band, I'm a begginner to novice guitar player....10 years ago I could barely tap my foot and strum at the same time, no knowledge of chords, nothing, never dreamed I would ever write a song. let alone sing and play fingerstyle.

Thank you! When I started this project it was simply to watch my own recordings as a ways and means to improve my own playing, then I started posting or sharing my videos with the general public so others could benifit from seeing my progress....(not many people willing to post crappy videos of themselves playing to encourage others to do better)....as the project has evolved an unexpected bonus came out of the project in the form of interacting with viewers in the comments....that being said....playing guitar, learning to play guitar, sing, memorizing songs is my escape that brings peace to my life for sure. I'm a very happy person...but make no mistake... l live in a world of turmoil, health issues, the tax man has taken everything from me (I'll be homeless by augusts if I cannot come up with the money), I have ""haters"/stalkers that go out of their way to make my life miserable including my own family members. I Iive on the West Side of Chicago in the reality of a crime ridden, drug/gang infested neighborhood, that is a constant reminder the world is far from peaceful...yet everyday I make time to play guitar, learn something new, interact with viewers, and that does bring Peace to my life. Thanks for the comments. @@Jamie_Allegedly "Carefull with that axe Eugene"...It's 3am in Chicago...there is a ton of Police Activity on North Ave...I heard a car chase, shots fired, saw guys/kids running in all directions to evade police for whatever crime they committed...thats what I see out my window. In my reality I'm working with 3 different song books/tabulatures/ to learn a fingerstyle/base run technique that has evaded me for years and is just now starting to make sense how to play it. Learning takes time...I know the reason this fingerstyle base run did not make sense in the past was becasue my brain could not process it..but now...It makes perfect sense. Yes, the whole thing is very stressful, learning the new guitar technique, seeing crime outside my front door, thus why I replied to you on your comment...."Peaceful LIfe you Have"...is not what it appears...I'm a happy person..I'm a peaceful person...but my reality of life is far from Peaceful...the life I have created for myself is way different than the life others impose on me....I am the Change I want to be...I do impose Change on the outside world and I do see the Change I'm able to impose on the world around me. Perhaps I'm being a bit oversensative...as I have a young relative that keeps trying to tell me how life is...instead of listening to what I have to tell them about my life. Using euphemism and Cliche are not a substitute for life experience and knowledge.

I'm not happy with the world around me...does not mean I'm not a happy person. My thoughts often revolve around my discontent for the lack of peacefullness in society..makes me happy. Once again...remember..I'm replying to your comment..suggesting...I have a peaceful life...to which I do....especially when playing guitar.....but the world aroud me is far from peaceful.....I can control my thoughts..but not the world around me.

I Greatly appreciate the compliment....of course I've only been playing guitar for about 10 years...mostly self taught as an adult....thus part of the project...to encourage others...your never too old to learn. 10 years ago I could not tap my foot and play guitar at the same time let alone sing...I just recently started trying my hand at songwriting....I never thought in my life time I would write a song.
