Remember how clean the air and water was during covid shutdown in 2020 all around the world ?!?!?! that is what HAPPENS when you people are home. OBVIOUSLY I do not expect that to continue once economy opens up BUT ALLOW the employees who can work from home due to their job function TO WORK FROM HOME !!!! That will save a lot of car pollution. SO much so that employees may not even need to own a car and can just take public transportation or Uber/etc to run their errands, which means more SAVINGS for the employees.

None of Twitter employees trashed the company when they didn't want to buy it, paid over the odds for it, and then scared off the advertisers once they were forced to buy it.
Hopefully the majority of Twitter employees will have the self-belief and realise that there are better places and better people to work for than Musk.
It is one thing to build a culture where the workforce feel that they want to work long hours, but those managers who demand rather than earn that dedication, are probably just looking for cheap labour.
Commit to hardcore or leave sounds like desperation but even if it was a rallying call one thing that is missing is a clear direction.
What out of Musk's confused messages is the goal for Twitter, is it to block the spambots, protect free speech and develop a messaging, payments and commerce app? Now the fluffy vision has been sorted, who is going to define the detail for all that, and who exactly is ever going to use Twitter as a payment platform?

for each person that leaves they will be replaced by someone in desperate need of a job. all big companies are freezing hiring and laying workers off. Where are they safe? Where will they work instead. No one is hiring. If to keep your job during an economic downturn requires you to work harder than you did for the past 2 years than why not? you get paid, continue to provide for your family, and not worry about losing your home while the housing market crashes. we've all bad "mean" bosses. we're used to it. work still gets done and you still get paid. Not everyone is fortunate enough to even have a job in this economy. my point is, be grateful for what you have, and actively work to provide better for yourself because NO ONE ELSE WILL!!!!

the whole workforce can choose to refuse to do any of that and just let Elon let them go. When it comes to software engineering, it's still going to take a hot minute to get new people and get them situated. Chances are the new people are not going to be able to produce anything significant for a good half a year or so, or even longer depending on the difficulty of the job.

I used to think Elon was a genius, but not when it comes to investing or social issues. After he offers to buy Twitter and waves due diligence, he sets on destroying the confidence and value in Twitter before the deal is even closed. Now he is telling the remaining employees that are competent at their jobs and can easily find a new one to get out now. The ones that remain will not be the cream of the crop, and will likely only stay until they can find something else.

Yes, like it or not, it is hard for the average worker to find sympathy for tech workers making 200-300k who are upset because they don’t like their new boss and because he laid off their work friends. We’ve all had bosses and leadership that we don’t like. If you’re truly unhappy, you can leave and find a new job or start your own business. You don’t stay and encourage each other to “disobey.” I know they miss their old work culture and blame Elon for buying the company, but it was the old board that sold it.
