After trying many modeling options I have gone back to small tube amps for 90% of my electric playing. Mostly on iPad I use Nembrini Faceman model for DI. Not a high gain player at all so my needs are few. Tonex just adds another layer of options paralysis for me to cope with. Cheers!

That Looping Gig last summer seems to have given us all an opportunity to reevaluate our live rig. 😀

Thank you for such a detailed video. I am not a gigging musician and I don’t have friends to jam with either. I use amp sims because my tube amps are just not practical at home anymore. I have been thinking about Loopy but just not sure it’s for me yet. I love practicing and learning with my TrueFire lessons and would love to make jam tracks to practice my blues. If I set up a loopy template, will it run while I play back lessons on Truefire or say UA-cam? I hope to see more from you in the future. Thanks.

Thank you for your kind words. I often use Loopy Pro for practice. I’ll record the chords for a jazz standard and then just let that run while I improvise over it. Your question about UA-cam is an interesting one. I just tried it out on my phone and I was able to playback a loopy session and then switch over to UA-cam. I think what your asking may be possible as long as your not recording to Loopy and watching UA-cam at the same time.

Hello Mike, I’m in need of help again. I am using a audio interface pedal from a company called Xsonic (3button) version. I’m not a singer either. I tried Loopy pro last night and am able to play through plugins. Do you set tonex and guitar effects on your audio input channel? Or do you place the chain in a color mixer channel? Thanx again for helping, I never have a lot of time to dedicate to loopy and the time out has come on the demo, I need to make the purchase, just hope I am not in over my head. 🙏

@@timothy5974 I place them on my input channel in the same order would place them on a pedal board. In other words: AUV3s for compression, Phase Shift and Wah Wah come before the TONEX…and AUV3s for stereo chorus, delay, and reverb come after the TONEX. I basically set up my input channel exactly how I would set up a physical pedalboard and then make widgets to turn the various AUV3s on/off. Those wiigets are mapped to MIDI control so I can turn them off via MIDI foot control. Hope this helps!

@@mcriscionethank you. It’s pretty confusing. I understand, by building you guitar chain on your input channel this means that all the loops will actually record the amp tones and effects as audio in the clip. I really do appreciate your time. Thank you.

Is the independence amp profile happen to be the free Studio Rats version? I still use your video as a manual guide to how it’s done. Thanx again

Fantastic ITB setup. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful playing. I need to get my FCB setup. Did you have any difficulties setting it up with loopy pro?

Thank you. The FCB1010 bang for your buck is hard to beat. I struggled to get it programmed using 3rd party apps but was able to program successfully as per the process outlined in the manual (which involves sequences of button presses on the unit itself). Given how customizable Loopy Pro is I haven’t need to do any reprogramming in almost two years since I’ve had it. My process is to basically create widgets with loopy for whatever I want to control and map that widget to a whatever MIDI a given pedal is setup to send. I haven’t made the leap to the aftermarket UNO chip but I know a lot of folks do and consider it a more usable controller after doing so. I like to wait til I have no gigs on the horizon before making big changes like that (which is kind of never lol😂). Hope this helps
