Can we take a minute to admit that he's one of better writen characters all over Dragon Ball, even his theme shows alot about him and his feelings, that's not a base Sanji or Muten Roshi, he's not just a simp, tbh I quite recognize myself into him, better than into most characters of any fiction
Yamcha really is the fucking man. He was the first of the young fighters to invent his own ki technique (besides possibly Tenshinhan, who we only just met then, so no idea if he really did).

That's it, Yamcha needs a spin off series, showing his past and all of that, how he met that cat that's name I forgot (Puru, was it?) How he learned his skills, who taught him, was he self taught, where did the "Wolf Fang Fist" originate from, did Yamcha come up with it? Why was he a bandit? And so much more that could be done. And if that can't be done, let Yamcha become 'Lone Wolf again (but not entirely, I don't want him to get too seperated from the other characters)
His fight with Tien was the peak of this character, even if he lost. He finally beat his fear of women and protected Bulma every episode from everyone or everything. He became from good to evil and was the best looking character (at least imo). Unfortunately, he left Bulma because he wasn't afraid of women anymore (then he choosed many and not one), so bad luck for him never stopped thereafter... Got there without any badass introductions (Tien during an arc) or some consolation moments (Krillin at the end of every arc)
@@HeyMomonia Yamcha never cheated on Bulma in the anime time line, only in the future Trunks time line. And Bulma had a Crush before on Pamput and Zarbon and cheated on Yamcha with General Blue. Toriyama never confirmed anything of the Yamcha Cheat ✌️

It doesn't sound silly at all and in some ways, I think I would have to agree with you on that. I mean the only reason that Yamcha was weaker than everyone else was because he had a life outside of training. Oh, by the way, about Elsewhere, the artwork drastically improves after chapter 10 just to let you know.

Yamucha’s character was horrifically slaughtered. From a badass well informed fighter with his weakness being woman, to essentially switching places with Kuririn as the comic relief/joke character. I love what Toriyama has given the world but God I can not stand his writing decisions

AND EVEN THEN, he STILL lost because he got scared off by Bulma. And when he DOES get a rematch against Goku with both being fresh, he gets destroyed in seconds. The next arcs are even worse. He becomes a negative diff Jackie Chun victim in the 21st TB, spends the entire Red Ribbon saga bitched out in Kame house, gets clapped by an opponent that Goku low diffed in the Baba tournament, has a nice lil fight against Tien (his high point in the whole series) in the 22nd TB before getting his Kamehameha deflected like it’s nothing and getting his leg broken. He then proceeds to spend the entire KING PICCOLO ARC bitched out in Kame house because he can’t fight. And last but not least, he spends 3 years training in the wilderness preparing for the 23rd TB, only to get utterly washed by Shen/Hero/Kami (whatever you wanna call him), getting headbutted in the balls, as his opponent LITERALLY SCHOOLS HIM IN FIGHTING MID BATTLE. Then Z rolls around. And we all know how THAT worked out for Yamcha. TLDR: Yamcha has always been the butt of jokes, even when he was “relevant” during OGDB.
Great Yamcha. No matter who hate him, he will always be a great character with amazing techniques like the Spirit Ball and the Hogafufuken, he also had his victories against the Invisible Man, all the participants of the preliminaries of the tournaments he participated, two strong guards from Moro in DBS and if we count on fillers and movies, Yamcha has even more wins, against Recoome, Olibu Gorilla and so on.

It's kinda sad that the legacy of most of Toriyama's OG characters are just "they can still beat the characters in X anime universe". They don't think abt the characters themselves because Toriyama did a piss job at making them meaningful in Z. Even if they were strong he never wrote anything else about them. The anime had to add Yamcha being a baseball player to explain what was he doing after Goku got married

@@ros9764 Yes and that part in the anime where Tien asks for forgiveness to the man when he permanently damaged his leg a long time ago. (I don't know if that part is in the Manga but I think it's filler) It was so beautiful and Master Roshi was so proud of Tien for changing his ways and becoming a better person. In Z there was some very good moments I just love OG DB way more. But Piccolo's character arc was awesome and I cried when Piccolo died and the part where he rubbed Gohan's head as he was growing a fondness for him.
He may be a joke these days, but he's not going to stay down forever. I just know he'll have his grand return someday. Even a lonely wolf gets their spotlight someday.

Yamcha is just one of those characters that you feel like always deserved more, he was one of the OGS. I feel as though Yamcha's writing in DBZ was poorly done and was not treated with as much care in the expansion that DBZ brought to Dragon Ball's universe.
yep. and now the Z-Fighters have been reduced to Goku with different hair and way less power. even down to the orange gi. something about that orange gi just ruins it for me. it's not a bad fit, but like. give them something that makes them stand out more. Yamcha was way cooler when he was rocking his bandit outfit than when he was cosplaying Goku.
It's a shame the humans got sidelined, I remember as a kid thinking piccolo was going to be the key to human strength and learn the move Guru did to boost their powers during crucial moments once he fused with Kami, but it would be like getting a dose of kaioken that would be murder on their bodies and only last for a limited time. How wrong kid me was the humans were long forsaken by the writer haha. Shame too Tien and Yamcha had so much potential! He becomes a negative diff Jackie Chun victim in the 21st TB, spends the entire Red Ribbon saga bitched out in Kame house, gets clapped by an opponent that Goku low diffed in the Baba tournament, has a nice lil fight against Tien (his high point in the whole series) in the 22nd TB before getting his Kamehameha deflected like it’s nothing and getting his leg broken. He then proceeds to spend the entire KING PICCOLO ARC bitched out in Kame house because he can’t fight.
And last but not least, he spends 3 years training in the wilderness preparing for the 23rd TB, only to get utterly washed by Shen/Hero/Kami (whatever you wanna call him), getting headbutted in the balls, as his opponent LITERALLY SCHOOLS HIM IN FIGHTING MID BATTLE.
Then Z rolls around. And we all know how THAT worked out for Yamcha.
TLDR: Yamcha has always been the butt of jokes, even when he was “relevant” during OGDB.
So good. one of the best songs in dragon ball. and anime.

Great Yamcha. No matter who hate him, he will always be a great character with amazing techniques like the Spirit Ball and the Hogafufuken, he also had his victories against the Invisible Man, all the participants of the preliminaries of the tournaments he participated, two strong guards from Moro in DBS and if we count on fillers and movies, Yamcha has even more wins, against Recoome, Olibu Gorilla and so on.

It's kinda sad that the legacy of most of Toriyama's OG characters are just "they can still beat the characters in X anime universe". They don't think abt the characters themselves because Toriyama did a piss job at making them meaningful in Z. Even if they were strong he never wrote anything else about them. The anime had to add Yamcha being a baseball player to explain what was he doing after Goku got married

@@Misscouchpotato- Moments in Z can make me hyped up but they have never made me as emotional as the tournament moments in DB. I don't mean emotional as in sad but more so actually feeling for those characters in a way that makes me happy and glad i can hear them. The talk Tien had with Roshi about why he is dressing as Chun is S tier DB for me
@@ros9764 Yes and that part in the anime where Tien asks for forgiveness to the man when he permanently damaged his leg a long time ago. (I don't know if that part is in the Manga but I think it's filler) It was so beautiful and Master Roshi was so proud of Tien for changing his ways and becoming a better person. In Z there was some very good moments I just love OG DB way more. But Piccolo's character arc was awesome and I cried when Piccolo died and the part where he rubbed Gohan's head as he was growing a fondness for him.

Again even tho yamcha loses, it's still hands down my most favorite fights in the entire series...Even Z, Super, GT and the movies can't change my mind on that (except Goku and vegeta Vs Broly)

It's so interesting to realize that Yamcha was one of Gokus first enemies in the Dragonball series. If you only watch DBZ you would never think of him as an Antagonist.

This theme song is too good for the joke character Yamcha became in DBZ. I guess that's why it only shows up in DB, where he was at his peak.
He was a joke character basically as soon as he looked at Bulma. Even his theme here is a joke about him being an incel. He proceeded to get humiliated non-stop in dragonball, being completely worthless.
Ironically, Yamcha accomplished a lot more in DBZ, taking out a saibaman and attacking Cell in his final Kamehameha clash with Gohan.
Yamcha had more dignity in DBZ than DB.

Yamcha is just one of those characters that you feel like always deserved more, he was one of the OGS. I feel as though Yamcha's writing in DBZ was poorly done and was not treated with as much care in the expansion that DBZ brought to Dragon Ball's universe.

yep. and now the Z-Fighters have been reduced to Goku with different hair and way less power. even down to the orange gi. something about that orange gi just ruins it for me. it's not a bad fit, but like. give them something that makes them stand out more. It's a shame the humans got sidelined, I remember as a kid thinking piccolo was going to be the key to human strength and learn the move Guru did to boost their powers during crucial moments once he fused with Kami, but it would be like getting a dose of kaioken that would be murder on their bodies and only last for a limited time. How wrong kid me was the humans were long forsaken by the writer haha. Shame too Tien and Yamcha had so much potential!
