I appreciate your honesty in your videos Tom. I have been a fan of the Scooter life for more than four years now. I have been watching lots of different influencers/companies videos. You have been the most honest and detailed. I hope all consumers watch your videos before purchasing. There are a lot of other influencers that are getting paid to push crap scooters or overpriced scooters. Keep up the good work Tom from a fellow Arizona.
When you're testing yours, if a creak develops from the "handlebars" area when braking or accelerating, it's actually the freaking folding mechanism. Even with good ears and a hint of common sense, it took me hours to get to the bottom of that one. I had the handle bars on and off, adjusted the horizontal stem to vertical stem and greased it, even played with the light clamp. After all that it finally occurred to me to check the folding stem. Sure enough, that's where the creak was. It's resonates up through the stem and travels out through the bars. Heck I could even feel it through the bars. After every ride I give it a shot of lithium grease after detailing it, so that it's ready to go for the next ride.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Haha! That noise drove me crazy. Hopefully you never even have to hear it. My brother's Christmas present was a Punk Rider Pro! So now he has his first scooter! He was really jazzed up about it. Everybody thought the LED's were awesome. Thanks for putting me onto a great scooter.
Haha that’s awesome! Yah that Punk Rider Pro’s lights are great. They always gets people’s attention at night. I may have noticed that creak towards the very end of my epic range test today. I Immediately thought of this comment haha. I’ve noticed something similar with some e-bikes with folding stems. I wonder if lining that collar with ultra thin silicone film would help 🤔.
She looks rad, bro! It's amazing to me that they were able to drop over 20lbs from the Klima Max. Mine is 88lbs on a proper scale. I honestly can't figure out where all that weight came off but it's impressive. I hope the wiring/lights issue is simply and it's resolved quickly. Stuff like that is so annoying right out of the box. Finally a stem to deck latch! ...which is missing on the Klima. I have to handle the Klima much differently when loading and unloading and it's definitely not as convenient to move around as others. You'll have to let us know if it has the same cruise control feature as the Klima because it's the best in the industry. Hold the + button for one sec at any speed and you're in cruise. Amazing that only one other co. besides Nami has gotten this right.
Thanks! Yah I’m really liking it so far. I did take it out on a ride around the neighborhood just to make sure everything is working. Rides super smooth, suspension is also really nice. The rubber dampener really makes a difference. At first I was expecting something similar to the Ausom DT1 Pro which makes a clunk sound when going over harsh stuff. Not with this Super Stellar. It’s super smooth. And the acceleration is crazy haha. Wyrd Ryds got back to me quickly. I sent them some pictures of the pin layout on the connectors. May just need to swap the position of a couple pins. I also ordered the same button pad as the Klima/Emove Cruiser V2. I like the look and feel of that one way more.
@@tomsgadgetgarage That's great! Happy to hear about the suspension. I'm surprised that more companies don't do the rubber dampers. Leave it to you to shed light on the super stellar. You're always able to find the hidden gems. It's got a bit more shape to it and it's easy to tell where you fingers are. Looking forward to this series and I'm glad Wyrd Ryds got back to you quickly. I really like the feel of the 3D button too.
@tomsgadgetgarage gonna try to make one today about the dashcams i have on the scooters a lot of people have been asking how i ran thw read dashcams wire and how i provide power to the dashcams without wiring it to the scooters so i figured since there are no kids today at the private school next door, why not take advantage of the silence and make a video lol 🤣👍
Really looking forward to the rest of the series. Its nice to see another scooter in the spot just bellow the Klima and Phantom 2.0. Sad about the QC though. Hopefully its it's just switching around a few plugs.
Thanks! So the good news is Wyrd Ryds got back to me quick and said a couple pins may need to be swapped in the connectors. I followed the wires to the controllers and found the information wires responsible for the signals and taillight. Swapped the position of two wires and it’s now fixed 😊. The bad news is the M/mode button on the control pad went bad, as in it no longer functions. This is preventing me from getting back into the advanced settings menu. Other than those issues, the scooter is SUPER smooth to ride. In the meantime, I ordered a different style control pad online which I prefer over the one this scooter comes with.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Thanks for the update. That's not a good start for the Nami! Sure hope its a reliable GoToo the rest of the way. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series Tom.
Thanks! Yah I guess I’m suffering from the woes of being an early adopter haha. I’m just happy both Wyrd Ryds and Nami have been very responsive and ask detailed questions to get to the root of the issue. I’m sure they’ll nip this in bud so we don’t continue to see it. Other than that this scooter has been awesome. Can’t believe how much power this thing has given its small form factor.
@@tomsgadgetgarage love the look and performance so far Tom. Really looking forward forward to the range and climbing runs. Thanks for taking the time to let us know about your contacts from Nami and Wyrd Ryds! Wyrd seems to be doing a good job of following up so far.
By price point, this is Nami's version of the Apollo City but I'm guessing that will be one of the few things they have in common considering the power, range and speed advantage will go to the"SS." The City weigh 68.8lbs (actual)
It would be interesting to see how they compare. I’m hoping to review the City Pro in the near future. And I’m glad Nami introduced this lower cost gateway drug into the Nami lineup haha! So far I’m loving this scooter, aside from the taillight issue (fixed 😊) and the “M” button no longer working (Klima button pad on the way).
I'm looking forward to your continued review of this scooter. I'm surprised when you pushed the throttle to show the speed in the different modes you didn't open it up to show it's speed in Turbo mode (even if everything was under no load). i would have liked to see from Nami a change in the throttle or the option for a different thumb throttle. I'm also curious if there's enough cable to add a stem riser to make the handlebars as high as the Emove Cruiser V2. I wonder if the cable splitter makes it difficult to do that. I also wonder if Fluid will eventually carry this Nami.
I’ll definitely demo the turbo mode. Right after I read your comment yesterday I went to the garage to test it out and the speed showed the same 36. As soon as I tried to go to the P settings to adjust turbo settings the M/mode button stopped working for some reason. I’m hoping to get that solved soon. I’ll take a look at how much slack is in the cabling and let you know. How tall of a riser were you thinking?
@@tomsgadgetgarage Well unfortunately you found another gremlin with this scooter. I'm sure you'll get it resolved. I'm wanting to have a riser to make it to at least as high as the Emove Cruiser V2 which is 44". Mind you I don't own either scooter.
Hello again! So I looked at how much slack is in the lines and it appears there’s about 2-3” for both the wires and brake lines. As for the button pad, I placed an order for a much nicer one. Should be here within the next week or so.
@@tomsgadgetgarageThanks for checking for me. I wonder if a thumb trigger changed out lsimilar to the Emove cruiser would help eliminate the dead zone that the current throttle has.
as an fyi FLUID is allegedly on the fritz. Not sure when they are going out of business but apparently it's on the cards. I first heard about from other vendors and checked with them -- they didn't deny it. Hope they can survive!
Nice intro! Mine just arrived. Any ideas on how to sync the NFC card with an iPhone. The directions in the manual made no sense as far as what I was seeing on the screen. NFC tools, the app was not able to scan it... Looking forward to more vids on the scoot especially a review of the P Settings..some of which confuse the hell out of me re. motor tweaking in the various modes etc..
Thanks! You know, I’ve never been able to figure out the whole NFC thing on iPhones. I tried looking at it today but no luck. Will let you know if I figure it out. Let me know how your first ride goes. Be careful with the throttle in mode 3. It’s basically a mini rocket ship haha. I’ll be posting more videos on it soon. I was going to do a hill climb today but the whole button pad fix took longer than expected.
Nami makes amazing scooters, I just REALLY wish they put 10" tires on this one. Otherwise, it's an excellent scooter. They don't make 10" tires for 6" rims, maybe there's a way to get ones meant for 6.5" to fit though?
Hey! So I’ve put about 10 miles on mine so far and even though it has 9” tires, it doesn’t quite feel like it. Honestly feels like many of my 10” tires scooters. With that being said, I might be on a new scooter high lol, so I will ride it around a lot more as well as alternate between this and some of my other 10” dual motor scooters. I did see a post from Michael Sha where he mentioned 10” tires really won’t fit.

I’ve considered covering some of those Amazon dual motor scooters which have crazy specs (on paper) for super low prices. My only concern is the quality of the batteries used as well as the electrical connections. I guess I won’t know until I try one out haha.
