Elk take up a lot of room. I have 2 shoulder mounts and also a moose shoulder mount. My house isn't very big so i just have to stick with euros for now. It's easy enough to find a cape if i ever decide to mount the others

I think that was one of the best elk videos I've seen . Ive never, never truly appreciated elk, and all around nature, until I got into hunting. Sure I was concerned about conservation, but when I got into hunting. I saw elk different, animals different, I fully appreciated there existence, and they're beauty. I don't think i would have ever learned that any other way.

We thought the same thing Richard! But the next day we still had to sneak up on the bull. So looking back, trying to get another arrow in him wasn't a horrible idea.

At that point I was just so tired of lugging that 15lb camera around, and pretty upset that we might lose that bull. I left the camera in the truck so I could use all of my energy walking grids. I think it was the 3rd pass I made that kicked him up, and then I just had to keep an eye on him until Chase could get there with his bow.

Wow! I’ll say it, The Mountain Project is THE best hunting show on UA-cam, hands down! How is this not on Netflix?!! Get these guys paid!
Two questions:
1. Are those grim reapers? I use them as well but have found they suck up momentum and don’t always get great penetration, however do make some devastating cuts.
2. When you walked up on the Elk, it almost looked like you were coming from upwind, is that why it got up and ran, or do you think it just saw you?

That was some incredible footage! After the Bull laid down like you I was thinking you could get another arrow in him but then when he got up and ran off I was like, oh Crap bad idea. Do you think you should have just left him lay where he was initially? Thinking he may have just died right there.

Thanks James. I could have let him lay, but he would not have died. We found him the next day, still alive, and i had to sneak in on him that time also. So either way it would have been a stalk to get another arrow in him.

After watching you make the shot. Showing the bull. I can see the grass moving in direction towards the elk. Then the video shows you in the same direction. I'm thinking the Elk is gonna wind you and get up and move. Sure enough as the video continued you moved in the got your scent and moved. I was hoping you'd chk the wind 1st before continuing. Really nice bull patience is a virtue in all aspects before and after the he shot
