@@davidfleer5307 absolutely, comfy but if it rains, there is no doubt my feet are getting wet. its an old cabelas pack, idk if they sell it anymore. i can fit a LOT of gear and meat in this pack, now it’s not comfy like some new ones but it can hold the weight if you can. I’ve had 120-135 in it for a 5 miles packout
@@colbydawgmedia I'm lucky enough to live here in Colorado. Getting ready to go! Even if you don't get an Elk you don't leave empty handed. It's an awesome experience! Be blessed brother!🙏
The Elk (Cervus canadensis), also known as the wapiti is a large deer species native to North America and Eastern Asia, it is the largest of the six extant deer species constituting the genus Cervus and the second largest deer species alive today, with only the Moose (Alces alces) being larger, the closest living relative of the elk is the Hangul (Cervus hanglu) that resides in Central Asia, there are fifteen known subspecies of elk: the Tibetan Elk (Cervus canadensis wallichii), the Kansu Elk (Cervus canadensis kansuensis), the Sichuan Elk (Cervus canadensis macneilli), the Mongolian Elk (Cervus canadensis mongoliensis), the Alashan Elk (Cervus canadensis alashanicus), the Tian Shan Elk (Cervus canadensis songaricus), the Manchurian Elk (Cervus canadensis xanthopygus), the †Korean Elk (Cervus canadensis coreanus), the Siberian Elk (Cervus canadensis sibiricus), the Roosevelt Elk (Cervus canadensis roosevelti), the Rocky Mountain Elk (Cervus canadensis nelsoni), the Tule Elk (Cervus canadensis nannodes), the †Merriam's Elk (Cervus canadensis merriami), the Manitoba Elk (Cervus canadensis manitobensis), and the †Algonquin Elk (Cervus canadensis canadensis).
thank you!! Canon R with a 24-240mm lens with a rode shotgun mic (About $3500 setup with batteries and everything). (some footage on a GoPro Hero 10). Absolutely love this setup. Appreciate you subscribing!! Share with friends/family!!
I’ve just recently found your channel and love it. What part of Colorado is this ? I’m set for my first elk hunt this September and trying to learn all I can. Thanks in advance!
@@JasonDay-zu3kx I completely understand you don’t share your “honey hole” not asking for unit was just asking in general ie northeast , northwest and so on
Yep I understand specially going for the first time. I’ve hunted Colorado for 30 plus years and the only time I’ve ever saw elk like that was in a high draw unit that took me 13 years to draw. It’s very hard and a cow is a trophy on a DIY hunt. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get a jammer.
appreciate that a ton, hope you continue to watch, got some more content coming soon! And like Jason said it is a draw unit and since I'm just the cameraman I can't share any of that info, if I did I wouldn't be a trustworthy cameraman! Best of luck on your first hunt man, I remember my first trip out west and let me tell you what, it's addicting. It took me 7 trips out west to get my hands on my first bull. It was brutal leaving year after year with nothing to show, but I have learned so much over the years and it was the most rewarding feeling ever when I finally got my first one.
this will be yalls last year to do OTC colorado, the days of everyone not from an elk state coming to colorado every year to hunt elk are over for archery

I’m sure this is a high draw unit since they only have one tag. Plus that’s something to never expect anyone to tell you.

sure are, curious to see what happens from it good or bad honestly. I'm keeping an open mind towards that decision
If it's the unit I think it is it is not an OTC tag anyway. You all need to stop thinking this is the end of archery elk in CO!
Way to much music good film though
